This is something I would honestly feel would be somewhat karma to have his supporters who ignore reality to cling to him to be hit with reality directly from him ignoring it as well. But then the rational part of me has to remind me that these people would then spread to more intelligent people as well.

Without our luck these people wouldn't win darwin awards, they would just be honorable mentions while they killed others.

I 100% believe that if it was proven that masks saved the wearer a LOT more people would wear them, but because the masks are primarily protection for people other than the wearer in this case it boils down to the fact that a lot of people are just selfish assholes who don't give a shit about anyone else.

Agreed, and I would love to see that bite them in the ass because Trump was infected and he didn't want to wear one and then their friends get it because they refused to and get the consequences of their own actions. Yeah, but now another CDC spokesman has backed up Trump in a reversal of "What He Meant Was" stating that the CDC director meant that Americans will have COMPLETED their vaccines by the 3rd quarter of 2021, not that they won't be available until then.

All I know is, if you (the general you) think you're getting a good vaccine in October you're a fool.

Yes, but the point is they don't quite protect the wearer as well as they do others because they are not sealed. Of course they offer some protection, but you can still inhale air that comes in through gaps between the mask and your face. Ideally, of course, everyone wears them giving everyone else equal protection, but selfish assholes are endangering everyone equally when they don't wear one. The video is essentially the same as the "peeing on legs" demonstration from months ago.

Wisconsin: 1,408 new cases; 8 deaths

Wisconsin continues their trend of high-total days. Illinois is actually down from where it was two weeks ago (before the holiday), so hopefully they're handling the spikes out in the Midwest. Nebraska, North and South Dakota are all slightly up from where they were two weeks ago and if you look at their number of infections per 1 million pop they're actually ranked 22 and above. As I've said before I'm sure they're somewhat saved by the low pop density out in those parts but even then they're not taking it seriously enough. High positivity in the tests in that region continues to be a concern. Alabama is currently being hammered by Sally so I'm expecting their reporting to be off for a while as they have something more pressing to deal with. Good luck to everyone out in that region.

1,151 deaths brings the total up to 201,348 and all of a sudden the 200k meme is out of date. Texas, California and Florida continue bringing in numbers above 100 daily (Florida, oddly, reporting the most out of all three more often than not) but given their huge populations that's not entirely surprising. California continues to be handling it the best out of all of them with the most testing, lowest positivity rate and least amount of deaths and new cases per 1 million pop. Of interest is that of the top 10 states in terms of most cases per million there is only 1 "Blue" state listed and that would be New York at number 9, just above Texas at 10 and below Tennessee at 8.

This may not be that accurate anymore.
They reduce the amount you inhale and the less you have, the better your immune system can handle it.
Newer studies suggest that the chance of hospitalization is reduced drastically by wearing a mask. This may be the reason why mortality rate went way down from the early days.

National Guard had a kind of military heat ray that might be deployed against demonstrators in the nation's capital, according to one of the most senior National Guard officers on the scene.

In written responses to the House Committee on Natural Resources obtained by NPR, Major Adam DeMarco of the D.C. National Guard said he was copied on an email from the Provost Marshal of Joint Force Headquarters National Capital Region. He was looking for two things: a long range acoustic device, a kind of sound cannon known as an LRAD, and a device called the Active Denial System, or ADS.

The ADS was developed by the military some twenty years ago as a way to disperse crowds. There have been questions about whether it worked, or should be deployed in the first place. It uses millimeter wave technology to essentially heat the skin of people targeted by its invisible ray.

This is the worldometers list of countries ranked by, amongst other things, deaths per one million people. Yes, we could compare other factors as well. The world currently stands at 121.4 at time of writing. The US stands at 608, the 11th highest in the world. Finland, by contrast, is about 10% our death rate, 61. Yes, Finland is fucking amazing, but their medical tech and knowledge isn't like ten times ours. (They do have socialist medicine...)

So your task is as follows.
1) Find the population of the red states.
2) Find the number of deaths in the red states.
3) Therefore, find the deaths per million in the red states.

Your target is Finland. "anyone in the world" at the very minimum includes Finland.

If you post a deaths per million that's higher than Finland's, you will admit that Trump lied. But hey, maybe you can still prove that red states handled it better than blue states, eh? Wouldn't that still be useful information? And wouldn't you feel better about actually completing a challenge for once, especially if the news is "well Trump lied, but at least..."?

If you post a deaths per million that's lower than Finland, then you know what? I'll give you this one. Yes, if the red states have a deaths per million that's 60 or lower, I'll give you the win.
