194,860 new cases. Testing still hasn't recovered to the levels before the holiday and Missouri hasn't reported yet, so I'm going to continue to forgo the comparisons for the time being. That being the case, I think this number is only around 5k off last Tuesday's numbers and that will likely get updated as time goes on.
Top 10:
California: 35,197 new cases; 203 deaths
Texas: 22,696 new cases (new record); 271 deaths
Fuck Florida.
New York: 11,687 new cases; 163 deaths
Georgia: 9,450 new cases; 83 deaths
Pennsylvania: 8,701 new cases; 285 deaths
Ohio: 7,526 new cases; 149 deaths
Illinois: 5,644 new cases; 126 deaths
Tennessee: 4,797 new cases; 122 deaths
Massachusetts: 4,145 new cases; 60 deaths
I'm not going to dive into other new records at this point as I'm not expecting many and they're a bit moot at present anyway. We can see by the numbers being reported that there's not too much positive to report. We're still in (nearly) 200k territory and that's just plain fucking awful. We're still a far cry away from the 400k numbers that some experts were saying we'd get in January and I don't think we'll hit that awesome mile marker, but depending on how stupid people are during this holiday break I could see us approaching 300k easily. Hopefully enough people got too scared to risk it and are just putting on false bravado online to keep it from being a disaster on top of a disaster.
3,398 deaths is higher than last Tuesday and brings the total to 346,579. Even with testing in the shitter we'll still likely see the impact of the virus in the death counts as the weeks go on. Some of this may be a correction, but as I've stated before worldometers is usually good with redistributing inflated numbers to reflect the dates they occurred on, so it's probably not too far off.

At current rate, it'll be 10 years before Americans are adequately vaccinated against Covid--"Operation Warp Speed" my fucking ass. This can be placed squarely at Trump's feet for downplaying the virus for so long and not allocated and managing resources properly. You think pandemic fatigue is a thing now? How about when Trump and his enablers artificially extend it due to their incompetence.
McConnell blocks Senate Democrats' move to pass $2,000 coronavirus checks--This does not surprise me at all. McConnell won his Senate race and I'm doubtful he'll run again if he's still alive in 6 years. He'll be 84. He got his. Fuck all y'all.
More than 2,900 US health care workers have died of COVID-19 in pandemic--No comment necessary.
Sorry if I'm repeating stories others have already mentioned. My Twitter account was suspended--likely permanently--because I had the gall to refer to Ann Coulter as a "stupid bitch" for calling an American chef "some nut foreigner"; meanwhile she's free to spew her bile on a daily basis. After the EC vote and this particular event I took it as a sign to take a bit of a vacation from many forms of social media (including these forums, some of you might have noticed I'm not really posting anything besides these reports) and most news, so I'm sure I'm missing a lot of discussion on things I'm late to the party for. Hope you're all doing well.
Stay safe, folks.

I...don't know.
See that? Trump tweeted that, too. It's a complete nonsequitraitor. Everyone who fought in the Civil War died before WWI started. There is no reason to say that the names of forts had anything to do with how the US performed in either World War. Perhaps these Capitalized Military Installations are the Treasures? The United States of America trained and deployed our HEROES on these Hallowed Grounds, and won two World Wars. Therefore, my Administration will not even consider the renaming of these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installation

Trump breaks another record
Gallup has a poll of "most respected man in America". The sitting US President wins it most of the time, 60 out of 74 to be precise. For example, W won seven times, not including 2008. Obama won all eight times.
Trump won in 2020 --
"Yeah! MAGA!"
-- the first time in his tenure.
"Yeah! Wait, what?"
Yeah, no other sitting US President has lost three out of four times. It's pretty impressive to be the Resident of the White House, and still not be the most respected man in America. You'd almost have to do that on purpose.
"But...yeah but he won this year!"
Indeed. Democrats split their vote between Obama, who by the way won 2017 2018 and 2019 while Trump didn't, Biden, Fauci, the Pope, and a variety of other role models. Republicans picked pretty much only Trump. It's like why FOX News gets higher ratings than any other channel but loses like a motherfucker when compared by ideology.
Also it's worth noting Obama won eleven times in a row. Yes, that's a record, especially since he was only President in (technically) some part of only nine of them.
So congrats to Trump for successfully showing that you can be such a massive fat fatass fat obese fat scumbag that even running the country does not get you respect.

My fraudulent war criminal rapist in the pay of wall st is better than yours etc etc.

You people are literally incapable of discussing anything without it being pulled back to "Trump is bad". Yes, Trump is bad, he's exactly like the guy you replaced him with.
(Let me guess, more "Trump is bad" responses. Or "you are a Trump supporter" because I would like to see him and Biden in jail)
While not 100% Trump related, the idiocy stems from the top so... :
Newly elected GOP Congressman who made a point of not wearing a mask dies from Coronavirus.
Dumb bitch didn't even make it to his own inauguration.
What are you discussing? You are on your millionth account, doing nothing, but demanding people stop talking about Trump. You are not bringing up anything real, just repeating altright talking points. Your entire rhetoric is policing the volume at which Trump is discussed.
Every single one of your posts is telling people to ignore Trump... I know you think you are an independent thinker...(Let me guess, more "Trump is bad" responses. Or "you are a Trump supporter" because I would like to see him and Biden in jail)

Trump just kicked off million off unemployment, because of golfing... but, we should stop talking about him... in the Trump thread... we should talk more about Biden, in the Trump thread.

Trump condemned by the UN for pardoning Blackwater mercenaries who murdered people.
- - - Updated - - -Pardoning the Blackwater contractors is an affront to justice and to the victims of the Nisour Square massacre and their families.
These pardons violate U.S. obligations under international law and more broadly undermine humanitarian law and human rights at a global level.
Keep your eyes on the Senate NDAA veto override vote coming soon.
The original vote was 84-13, pretty sure. Up to 17 Party of Trump members can change their mind, siding with Trump without actually screwing the troops.

^^ he's kind of sexy when he's angry
Post Residency for Trump at Mar-a-Fuck-O won't be pleasant.
- Town suing to evict him already.
- Planes will fly directly over his illegal home
- Relatively small living quarters - 3,000 sq ft compared to 3 full floors at Trump Tower
- Helipad to be removed.
These are all relatively small things, but YUGE ones for the Impeached ex-Resident, and will continually get on his nerves every day. And we haven't even gotten into the state and federal civil and criminal charges he will be facing on Jan 22.
I wonder if the international betting pool has a line on which country he will flee to first.
