So McConnell's wife is considering resigning according to MSNBC which makes me think she is the one single person who would 25th Trump's ass.
I know there's other pressing ongoing news, however:
260,973 new cases, about 25k more than last Wednesday. A new national record.
Top 10:
California: 34,976 new cases; 562 deaths
Texas: 25,213 new cases; 329 deaths
Fuck Florida.
New York: 16,752 new cases; 170 deaths
Pennsylvania: 9,355 new cases; 373 deaths (new record)
Ohio: 7,814 new cases; 121 deaths
Georgia: 7,686 new cases; 93 deaths
Tennessee: 7,588 new cases; 114 deaths
Illinois: 7,569 new cases; 173 deaths
Arizona: 7,206 new cases; 127 deaths
Louisiana, Kentucky, Virginia, Oklahoma, Nevada and New Hampshire all set new records.
More evidence that the holiday bump is starting up--and some of the Midwest numbers look like they're heading back upwards as well. We may well be on the path to 300k in the next few weeks. There may actually be more records than stated today but with inflated totals from corrections happening it's a bit hard to tell. The death total for California is astronomical, for example, but they had slightly higher on New Year's Eve. The rest of the week will paint a clearer picture of how things are, but my initial guess is: very bad.
4,100 deaths is over 200 more than last Wednesday and brings the total to 369,990. This is also a new national record and the first time the daily total has eclipsed 4k. I think we're past the point where we can claim it's mostly due to corrections. Again, we'll know more as the week progresses, but I'm not expecting good news.

GOP Rep. Kevin Brady tests positive for COVID-19--At some point we'll likely have an easier time naming the GOP Reps who haven't tested positive.
Stay safe, folks.

I think a lot of GOP guys are just about ready to shit on Trump as hard as they can to avoid as much responsibility as possible.

That too.

No, I misread the headline.
Three WH aides have already fled. NBC News reports that Chao is probably next.
I'm going to continue to be vindictive here: too late. Trump was inciting this since he lost the election. If you didn't want a riot, you shouldn't have watched Trump light torches and hand out pitchforks.

Donald Trump stated on January 6, 2021 in a speech on the Ellipse outside the White House: "We won. We won in a landslide. This was a landslide.”
Our Ruling
In a speech to his supporters on a violent day in Washington, Trump said he won the 2020 election "in a landslide."
That’s ridiculously wrong. He didn’t win at all, let alone in a landslide.
Biden won the presidential election with 306 electoral votes, to Trump’s 232. All 50 states and the District of Columbia have certified their votes, which Congress will formally tally before Biden’s inauguration.
None of the 62 lawsuits that Trump and his allies filed after Election Day has proved that voter fraud affected the election outcome. Federal agencies and state election officials have repeatedly said there is no evidence of widespread fraud.
Trump’s claim is Pants on Fire!
This morning: Ah, I'm glad I got a good night's sleep this time. My Minecraft zen garden is coming along nicely.
This afternoon: A domestic terrorist group overtook the capitol building of DC, ransacked it, and flew the confederate flag as they did.
What in the everloving hell did I miss? I've only received bits and pieces throughout the day with no clear timeline.
A portion of Trump supporters were whipped into a frenzy after months of being told the elections were rigged.
At the start of the electoral college certification, the GoP objected to Arizona. During the debate following, Trump terrorists broke into the Capital Building, one was shot and killed while attempting to break into the House chamber, and Trump refused to denounce them.
