See? How hard was that?
On topic: Mitch McConnell's wife resigns in protest.
I had posted a report that she might, but honestly, didb't think she would. Second time in 5 minutes I've been proven wrong.
The Chao/McConnell thing is something we've discussed, often during Infrastructure Week issues. I think it's clear in hindsight she and McConnell would not have made their moves independently. I don't know if she signed up thinking she would become richer, and I also don't know if she did become richer. I do know that this is yet another "I don't draw the line at promoting insurrection, only its application".Chao would become the first Cabinet official, and the highest-ranking member of the administration, to resign in the wake of Trump’s incendiary rally and its violent aftermath on Wednesday.
“Yesterday, our country experienced a traumatic and entirely avoidable event as supporters of the President stormed the Capitol building following a rally he addressed,” Chao wrote in a letter to Transportation Department staff, obtained by The Hill. “As I’m sure is the case with many of you, it has deeply troubled me in a way that I simply cannot set aside.”
In her letter to employees, Chao said she would resign effective Monday. She said her team would continue assisting President-elect Joe Biden’s Transportation Secretary-designate, former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, with the transition.
And yes, this makes the 25th more awkward.
You don’t... you were posting the same conspiracy theories that these people used... and comparing BLM to people impeding the certification of a president... is fucked up... but, also on par for what to be expected, from someone who bought the same lie that leas these terrorist to attack the US.

The question is no longer "did election fraud occur?", but now "was it enough to change the result of the election?". The answer to which appears to be "no".
Regardless, you're all derailing a bit bringing this up.

Yes, you will be told you don't mean it because you still couldn't resist qualifying it with unrelated "both sides" nonsense. Because of your attachment to this crowd, you cannot simply say you condemn them without finding something that you can still side with them on.
If I tell my wife that I'm sorry that my friends broke something of hers, just like I'm sorry that her friends broke something of mine, she would rightly think that maybe I'm not all that sad about what happened to her stuff. She might become even more suspicious of my intentions if the thing I said about her friends is tenuous at best.
The more you have to qualify a statement in order to be able to gasp it out, the less you mean it.

No, yesterday was all about this... this is more on topic than anything to do with BLM... You trusted Trump loyalist, like fucking project Veritas... instead of condemning the like minded Trump supporters, you want to scape goat BLM? See I don’t need to ask why you would do this... it’s the reason the Trump shit show thread exists...
Edit: Project veritas was caught paying people to lie about the election... you spread their lie for free... do you donate to a billionaire too?

Before I say something reasonable, let me contradict everything I will say then, to make a ludicrous comparison. Then, when people complain about the comparison, I can just point at the reasonable part and act like a victim, instead of supporting the conspiracy theories of the group that did this yesterday.

No, there was. A few examples. Trump supporters.
And if you want to get serious, you can easily add many if not most of the attempts by Trump and his supporters to overturn the results to the list.
Nevermind the countless ways in which Republicans engage in voter suppression all over the country.
Trump’s attempt to sell off drilling in Alaska went... well...

Ha, so Murkowski's dad did end up buying all of it?
Good luck to Alaska in their attempts to lease any of that land to oil companies that weren't remotely interested in paying for it. Sounds like Republicans just saddled Alaska with a lot of state debt to buy a bunch of land that nobody wants to destroy.

LegalEagle says more eloquently everything I want to say about yesterday's bullshit better than I could:

So odds on this administration enforcing the presidents executive order, now that its not "antifa/BLM/Not White people"....??
Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen vowed that pro-Trump rioters who entered the U.S. Capitol would "face the full consequences of their actions under the law," and those consequences could include being charged under President Trump's executive order authorizing up to 10 years in prison for "injury of federal property."
Buh Byeeeeeeeeeeee !!
Oh good, Lin Wood is on Parler saying Pence is about to overthrow Trump and execute him.
Very normal, stable people.
