I don't have much of an opinion on it, except for being able to observe that both sides aren't treated equally in the mainstream media for their misdeeds. The USA is just divided between two conservative factions. Each pumps tons of money into media to keep polarizing their own base. One side which appears a bit nicer and does a lot more posturing than the other side which seems to think they're outright cartoon villains.

Also, I remember getting infracted in the past on this forum for calling the Repulican Party semi-terrorists and extremists. But now everyone is doing it. It appears as if MMOC is just a few years behind on the things I observe.

The claims re. Russia and its interference in 2016 were proven to be true.

CNN: McConnell believes impeaching Trump will help rid him from the party, source says

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has indicated that he believes that impeaching Donald Trump will make it easier to get rid of Trump and Trumpism from the party, according to a source with knowledge of the matter.

The silence has been deliberate — and left open his option of supporting impeachment.

Another person with direct knowledge says there’s a reason McConnell has been silent on impeachment as other Republicans have pushed back: He’s furious about what happened Jan. 6, even more so that Trump has shown no contrition.

One source said McConnell "hates" Trump for what he did last week following the attacks on the Capitol that left at least five people dead including a Capitol Hill police officer.

McConnell has been steadily moving his conference away from Trump for weeks. While he knows they all aren’t there with him, but believes the party needs to turn the page.

Vice President Mike Pence kicked off what is likely to be his final weekly coronavirus call with the nation’s governors on Tuesday with a farewell message and an effort to inspire confidence in the next administration.

But Trump actually endangered THEM, he risked THEIR lives and THEIR safety. And THAT is what pisses them off and has them ready to turn on him. If they had warning and made sure they weren't there and that it was just the Democrats who faced danger, they likely wouldn't have cared same as when they didn't care about Kavanaugh potential victims safety or the whistleblower about Ukraine. They only cared when it was THEM personally on the line for the consequences of what they pushed.

That too but even that they could try and spin to their advantage in the future with the damage they have already caused which they would blame the Democrats far just like they blamed Obama for Bushes stuff. It won't stop you from being sued, but until you can appear in person, it becomes very complicated to carry out the civil or criminal suit. You can in extreme circumstances be tried in absentia, but it's very complicated.
