(long sip from tall frosty glass)...ahhhhh.

Trump’s Mar-a-Lago partially closed due to COVID outbreak

Some days, the jokes write themselves.

That’s according to several people familiar with the situation, including a club member who received a phone call informing them about the closure Friday. A receptionist at the Mar-a-Lago club confirmed the news, saying it was closed until further notice, but declined to comment further.

A person familiar with club operations said that, out of an abundance of caution, they had “partially closed” a “section of the club” for a short period of time and quarantined some of its workers.

The people spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the situation by name. The number of cases, what portions of the club were closed or how it was affecting the former first family weren’t immediately clear.
I'm actually looking forward to the press release where Trump fires someone who caught COVID, ignored common sense warnings, and brought it to their place of work.

"Could it have been a random guest?"

Yes, that's less of a farce, but yes. Of course, if it was a guest, then either (a) a Mar-a-Lago employee did not follow the recommended precautions and/or (b) this ws a "safe haven" for anti-maskers, QAnons, and members of the rabid fanbase (well, those not being arrested on camera or shanking restaurant managers). The first would be a farce again, but the second would just be full-on "they asked for this".

The full-size passenger airliner, which bears Trump's name across the side in large block letters, has fallen into disrepair. One engine is shrink-wrapped and the other is missing parts. https://t.co/zqIvKTB6d2

Looks like Trump plane is grounded. Supposedly could be $100k's worth repairs.

I guess to be fair, Trump didn't need it last 4 years. Buy hey! After running cons and grifting, likely has enough funds possibly to repair.

So, three to four whores' worth?

In the ongoing effort to demonstrate Trump didn't incite violence through his words and actions, Trump tweets an edited video of himself hitting Biden with a golf ball, knocking him down.

    "Trump can't tweet."

Yeah, actually Donnie Dum-Dum Jr did it.

"Surely it was just a retweet."

Nope. Not a retweet. Either they made the video or they claimed it as their own.

Should have left them behind. Leave the military out of domestic political squabbles. Reeks of fascism. The reason we lambasted trump for his dumb military parade idea wasn't the cost, but the fascistic tendencies on display.

They didn't JUST visit Greene. He was giving Guam's National Guard members a tour of the capitol, and gave cookies to several congressmen while they were there.

Yeah, he could have taken them on a tour at any time. The fact that he chose to bring them to a politician's office that he's having a disagreement with is not good. Leave the military out of domestic political squabbles. This shouldn't be a difficult concept to process.

If he just visited Greene, or if the intent of the visit was to intimidate, sure. But it wasn't at all, and he also brought the Guam National Guard to visit Rep. Clyburn and give him a goodie basket too.

This is some clutched pearls nonsense.

If his intention was to bring the NG to clyburn's office to give him some goodies he should have left the nut job's visit to another day. It was absolutely to intimidate, whether you want to admit it or not. Not wanting double standards isn't pearl clutching. I gave trump way more shit than I'm giving this guy. This guy deserves the disapprobation he's getting from me. Leave the military out of domestic politics. Easy concept.

It was? Clyburn didn't seem intimidated. What's intimidating about a bunch of unarmed National Guard members walking around a secure location? They're all masked up, even.

I mean, is it so easy to intimidate people nowadays?

Was he having a disagreement with clyburn? Or not? What's intimidating about a bunch of troops and the implicit threat of force? Oh, I don't know, maybe the obvious?

...disagreement? What disagreement other than Greene thinking Guam was a foreign country? They weren't having words. There were no heated arguments that I saw. He just showed up with some of the members of the Guam National Guard (you know, American soldiers) with the goodie basket to let her know Guam is indeed a part of the US and extend an olive branch.

Is there some side-eye in the visit? Sure, but that's not because she's a Republican or because the two have any personal beef - it's because Greene is a fuckin retard.

And if a small group unarmed NG troops walking around the Capitol is "an implicit threat of force" I don't know how we can even measure what a threat would even be anymore.

Again, realize that the reason trump was lambasted for the 4th of july parade planning was because it's a hallmark of fascist behavior. The implicit threat of force.

Spare me the rationalizations. Yes, magic the gathering is a nut case. The 'victim' in this case being a reprehensible human being doesn't make his action any better, it just makes you agree with those actions. Not a good look.

This is a time you could really use some self reflection. The military being used as a prop in domestic political squabbles should be abhorrent to everyone. Get a grip.

Because he wanted a military parade, complete with tanks and weapons and everything.

    Kinda comparing apples to torpedoes.

No, I just don't buy the Kevin McCarthy, "Greene is a victim, here!" bullshit. She's not a victim, she wasn't even bloody there.

Right, so if repairs cost $400,000 then that's three whores' worth.

But the quote you initially responded to said $100k worth of repairs, not $400k...

Scale isn't really a factor on if something is wrong or not. Killing one person is bad. So is killing 10. Stop using the military in domestic political squabbles. Again, not a hard concept.

There's a reason I put 'victim' in quotes. She deserves to be confronted (and, quite frankly, booted from congress), on essentially every issue she cares about. Just not with troops. I really don't understand the pushback. Why is using the military in this case a good thing that shouldn't be condemned? Because it's being employed against people you disagree with? Is that the sum total of your reasoning?

They are literally there to protect them because there was an armed insurrection 2 months ago, "These US citizens are part of the national guard and are here to protect you, so BE INTIMIDATED!!!" yeah I don't think that's the message...

Because she wasn't confronted by troops. Literally, the guy was there giving some national guardsmen a tour of the place. While they were there, they also dropped off a bag of cookies at a few offices. He didn't actually see Greene. The troops didn't see Greene. The idea that this was 'using the military as a political stunt' is a bit absurd, because if that was actually the point of the venture then wouldn't they have wanted to, y'know, actually see Greene?
