They knew it in 2016, they knew it in 2020 and they know it now. No one but the groups I mentioned would care, and frankly I stopped caring what those feckless, morally bankrupt groups thought long, long ago.

As for people getting violent should Trump face proper justice, I'll say what I'll always say... the just and lawful will not fear the unjust and unlawful. If they want to stir up trouble, the FBI is waiting for them.
He had a substansial part of the votes (still beaten by his own words 'landslide') but the problem is that he got GOP behind him for some time still.

The votes & their representatives heavily lean towards embarrassed in the grand scheme of things. I mean, how many numbnuts voted for the bill to keep Biden from his rightfull precidency in thehouse of representatives? They would never have done that to that extent if they didnt know it would be political suicide not to when midterms comes along.

It is an embarrassment even though I would suggest collective denial is the proper term.

Again, so? It's not the majority of the American people. He never had the vote or support of the majority of the American people, ever. And frankly anyone that still supports Trump at this point should be embarrassed.

The GOP is walking a tightrope right now trying to retain the votes of more moderate republicans to keep them from slipping to the democrats, and the votes of the batshit insane trump conspiracy loons, to keep them from throwing up their hands and sitting the election out because the GOP didn't suck up to their golden god enough. The GOP know they're on thin ice on a national scale and they need every vote they can. In so many words, their support of Trump is purely a political game.

Luckily, if this goes to some sort of grand jury or actual judicial trial, it wont matter worth a rat's ass whether the GOP want it to happen or not. "Because it would embarrass people sorely in need of embarrassing" is not a valid reason to give Trump a free pass. It's proof that law and order are bigger than the GOP and their trite little political scheming.

@Kaleredar I agree with you to some extent, hell to me not having a popular vote is an embarrassment it itself not to mention that at some point in time one or both parties cant keep their hands of doing everything they can to limit the other parties access to voting.

If we ignore the international rational it would happen but the masses of grasroot supporters who believe in the bible and Tucker Carlson and the pletore of Goebbels like him as the only truths in the world outside gravity... welll..
Not prosecuting someone who instigated an actual murderous insurrection is a bigger international embarrassment then actually prosecuting him.

Besides, the US still is and will be for the forseeable future an embarrassment simply for the current direction of the GOP, the size of its support and the continued support of a former President that instigated a murderous insurrection.

The fact that Trump won the first time in a huge embarrassment, the fact he almost won a second time is a huge embarrassment, the fact that 140 something Congressmen supported him in trying to overturn a democratic election hours after fleeing a murderous insurrection is a huge embarrassment.

Bush was an outlier, Trump made it a pattern.

The US is a failed state and a joke to the rest of the world.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

It doesn’t cost that much to get started. They are not building their own infrastructure, this is going to be Azure or AWS. I am actually interested in what it will look like. I want to know what social media equivalent of a cardboard Trump teaching at Trump University will look like.

I wonder if they will Boomervate... like... social media, where every post results in a call, where the post is read to you and you have an option to dictate the reply.

Edit: Trump based emotes!!! They must have all smiles and emotes, be in the form of Trump. Oh and the crying emote will be an award, where it features the latest human Trump is funding with, every month.

Then they will run into the same problem Parlor did. Those platforms won't let them run servers that don't moderate speech to some extent.

Yet another Republican says he won't run for re-election.

Rep. Reed [iRoNY] is facing allegations of "sexual misconduct" which is the political way of saying "got drunk and fondled a lobbyist".

Yeah, this one isn't even up for debate... he's admitted to it.

Now, he says he'll simply not seek re-election, but I'm guessing he ends up leaving early on this one.

Honestly, I like the "Troll two-step". Usually I have a lot of side-eye for Salon, but they've hit the nail on the head with this one.

Republican says something offensive as fuck.
Republican gets criticized, rightfully, for saying something offensive as fuck.
Republican complains about how they're being "attacked" by radical leftists trying to "cancel" them.
Republican gets huge sympathy boost from right wing media and showered in donor dollars for having their "rights attacked".

Man, I wish "cancel culture" was as much of a threat and as powerful as they keep saying it is. Because if it was, then we wouldn't have to continue to hear their racist garbage followed by pathetic victimhood over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Lol SlatePitch is still a thing. Their weekend editors are the worst.

Amanda Marcotte is one of the better writers they have left. Troll Two-Step deserves it's own thread. It could even be stickied as a PSA.

Editors and and online people being bored on a weekend, is why I avoid this place on the weekends

Hey hey hey, stop talking about MMO-C and talk about that article you cited.

Oh, you did. How awkward. Related: nobody answered my "millions of illegal votes" question from, like, a week ago.

Yeah, it’s another projection from years ago, when they used to call liberals professional victims.

It’s also what I have been pointing to for years... Liberals are pussies... You have a bully that has been kicking dirt at them for decades... as soon as their bullies start crying... it’s SJW time... as much as they hate SJWs, everything from walkaway to TDS to ‘orange man bad’, was the same virtue signaling... and liberals are falling for it... just like they did with “RussiaGhazi”...

Wait, is that the same as "crisis actor"? Or is that something different? I got a C-minus in Republican 101, I can barely ask where the bathroom is.

When your political party no longer has an ideology to keep the tent erect, fall back onto cultural warfare and how everyone is out to get you. That'll gather enough people under that tent, with the fabric covering their entire heads, that they won't realize they don't have an ideological tent-pole. Just a tent hanging from their heads.

More of aimed at the Welfare Queen... I’m guessing it didn’t test as well more recently. Frank Luntz is a monster...

Agree 100%. It's also followed by a flawed moral equivalency where they downplay whatever offensive thing they said, by comparing it to cherry-picked cases of cancel culture 'going too far'. This is exactly why FOX & co. clung on to Mr. Potato Head and Dr. Seuss as a headline for weeks and made it into a far bigger deal than it was. Because then it's a small jump to use that as an excuse and say, me doing this horrible thing that deserved cancellation is the same as Dr. Seuss, they are going too far!

And for those that fell for it, now you know how you were manipulated.

And today in things Republicans think are unconscionable: Treating desperate asylum seekers humanely.

Just treating them like human beings, that itself is offensive. Republicans continue to loathe the existence of brown people.

Remember that time Fox argued "No reasonable person would think Tucker Carlson's show is news!"? Well, it seems that argument is getting its day in the sun again with Sydney Powell as she seeks to dismiss the $1.3B Dominion lawsuit -

“They are repeatedly labelled ‘inherently improbable’ and even ‘impossible,'” the motion to dismiss continues, referring to the conspiracy theories peddled by Powell, her law firm and her non-profit group Defending the Republic. “Such characterizations of the allegedly defamatory statements further support defendants’ position that reasonable people would not accept such statements as fact but view them only as claims that await testing by the courts through the adversary process.
Basically, all the things Powell was claiming were facts? Weren't actually facts, and she never said they were, and nobody would ever believe they were, so please don't sue her for $1.3B.

But also at the same time: Project Veritas of 'Deliberately editing videos to make the left look bad and yet people keep falling for it' fame released their 'expose' about the Inhuman Conditions on the border after four years and change of not giving a fuck and right-wing shills are jacking themselves off over how bad it makes Biden looks.

These people wouldn't have standards if they didn't have double standards.

Oh? I've only seen something from a few local Democrats in Texas. I generally don't seek out PV's garbage, if it comes across my radar so be it, but I ain't wasting time with idiots that forget they're logged into their actual LinkedIn accounts when working on a "target", letting the "target" know that PV is creepin on their account. That or just like, you know, have a whole planning session recorded on a "targets" voicemail because they're galaxy brains and forgot to hang up.

These idiots would be far more hilarious if people didn't take them seriously.
