I don't think we disagree very much at all. We both want to hear Pence say that Trump is a terrible piece of shit so we can turn to Trump supporters and say "SEE?! DO YOU FINALLY SEE?!" It's just that I've thought it through the next step and know the automatic response will be "well that's because Pence was always a traitor to the crown" and he'll be fed to the lions with ultimately nothing changing. Though I suppose in that scenario Pence's life would be ruined and maybe that's reason enough.

As always, North Carolina once again proves itself to be an embarrassment to any educated and still living here.....

I honestly would love to see the companies start responding to this by themselves moving their companies out of those areas. Do to them what the US should have been doing to companies that refuse to pay living wages since the beginning.

Watching companies closing shop and moving out of states like Georgia and other places that support it and watch them try and wrestle with trying to paint them as both "Bad" and "Job Creators" while also trying to give them tax breaks as well.

Honestly, at this point, I am surprised I haven't seen countries actually try stating that Trump, the GOP and their stuff is why they don't trust us anymore and do it vocally.
Since we can't call out Trolls and Bad Faith posters and the Ignore function doesn't actually ignore it. Add
    "mmo-champion.com##li.postbitignored"
to your ublock or adblock filter to actually ignore ignored posters. Now just need a way to ignore responses to them as well.

Oh no, now Coca Cola won't see that $20 a week from the vending machine. That'll really hurt them when they lose 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000002% of their revenue. Republicans sure showed them, now if only they had a spine to fight against actual problems rather than a soda not liking them.

The first time I lived in NC, mid/late 80s as a kid, Coke wasn't really The Thing. It was all "PEPSI! The Taste Born In The Carolinas!"

    Friday's report:

16,925 new cases; about 6k fewer than last Friday. Florida did not report and apparently won't be reporting at all anymore, so just tack about 2k onto the total.

    Top 5:

Fuck Florida. They've now earned permanent spot atop the list and are likely legitimately there anyway.
Texas: 1,132 new cases; 49 deaths
California: 1,129 new cases; 52 deaths
New York: 976 new cases; 29 deaths
Colorado: 767 new cases; 17 deaths

As @Edge mentioned yesterday, Florida announced they won't be reporting their numbers anymore, ostensibly because they're doing so well they don't feel the need but the reality is that they're still the worst in the nation in terms of new cases and deaths more often than not. Just because DeathSantis wants to sweep it all under the rug that does not mean it isn't still reality. Fuck Florida. As for the rest, numbers continue dropping nationwide as more people are vaccinated daily. I'm sure several states will be able to have a "normal" Summer without many consequences--and I'm equally as sure several other states will attempt to do so despite the consequences. It's easy to look at the falling numbers and think we've conquered this thing, but we're still a fair way off from safe with only 51% of the country having at least one dose of the vaccine, so let's not let ourselves get complacent yet, mmkay?

520 deaths is 100 fewer than last Friday and brings the total to 612,240. Florida is at the top spot until they want to offer evidence to the contrary. California and Texas both had around 50 (so, not "zero" in Texas, no). The 7-day average has dropped below 400 and continues falling slowly but steadily.

    Related news:

U.S. administers 299.1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines--Close to 300 million doses, most of which were rolled out and administered since January. No small feat. Well over 130 million are now fully vaccinated. Keep it up.

COVID-19 still poses severe risk to unvaccinated teens

Nearly a third of teens ages 12-17 hospitalized with COVID-19 ended up in the intensive care unit, with 5% ultimately being placed on ventilators.
Just a reminder that adults aren't the only ones vulnerable.

    Stay safe, folks.

    Oh please God, NO

Trump on idea to run for House seat in 2022 in a bid to become Speaker and launch an impeachment inquiry against Biden: 'It's very interesting'

Former President Donald Trump said a radio host's suggestion that he run for a House seat in 2022 in a bid to become Speaker and consequently launch an impeachment investigation against President Joe Biden was "very interesting," Right Wing Watch first reported.

During an interview on Friday afternoon with VRAinsider.com, far-right radio host Wayne Allyn Root suggested that Trump runs for Congress in a bid to "wipe" Biden out.
    ...
Trump appeared to be taken by the idea. "That's so interesting," the former president said. "You know, it's very interesting," he added.
Would someone just put this MF'er in jail already! lol

McConnell is Republican Senate leader, not the House.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

Technically he'd be right,he just needs to impeach Harris as well, then the Speaker becomes President and finishes the term.

Mind pointing me at which dead cops they killed? Far as I’m aware there was a stroke and a suicide. Amongst the rioters we have a heart attack, a meth overdose, and an unarmed woman shot in the head by the cops.

its odd, republican's against an officer using necessary force....
I am shocked you are against stand your ground type actions.

In the gun thread all day they talk about the wonders and beauty of being able to shoot someone in the head if they are trying to break into your home/business/car or rob/punch you but all of a sudden doing this is wrong?

Man i wish you people would make up your minds already.

    https://thehill.com/regulation/court...filing-lawsuit

An attorney for MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell has left the law firm he worked for one day after filing a suit on behalf his client against voting technology companies Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic.

Bloomberg News reported on Friday that attorney Alec Beck was not authorized by Barnes & Thornburg LLP to file the lawsuit in a Minnesota federal court.

In a statement shared with The Hill, the firm said it “became aware of the filing of the complaint which was done without receiving firm authorization pursuant to internal firm approval procedures.”

“The firm has withdrawn as local counsel in this matter and has ended the client relationship. The attorney representing the client in this matter is no longer with the firm,” the statement said.

It's even better, since they'll happily accept the conclusion of the medical examiner when it gets them off the hook in this instance, but will still swear up and down that Floyd died of an overdose, despite literally all of the evidence to the contrary.

It's a reminder that unarmed people killed by cops is not an instant judgement against the use of force.

Dead cops is an exaggeration, and nobody truly thinks that cops dying of strokes after shocking incidents (insurrection, riots, what have you) can be laid at the feet of insurrectionists and rioters. The other insulting and indefensible actions of the insurrectionists stand just as appalling absent a real body count.

Doubt it'll happen unless basically all democrats and independents just sit home and every single swing district goes trump Q red, meaning if the GQP does win the majority in the house, it'll be super tight close majority, like 3-4 seats(remember 10 republicans voted to impeach the MF), and to be speaker you need the majority of the entire house, not just the majority of your party. Which is why I don't see him or McCarthy being speaker even if they win back the house.

Then again, Republicans are flip flop spineless jellyfish, so those 10 republicans if re-elected would probably put Trump in as speaker, even if ends up in a cell at Rikers.

She wasn't shot in the head, she was shot in the neck, for trying to get into a room full of lawmakers, including Republican ones that stated it was a clean shoot, and she was told multiple times to get down. She got what she deserved.
