He wouldn't get anyone, except maybe some evangelicals that aren't stupid enough to be Trump supporters. Which is very few.

I think even the office of president wouldn't offer him protection against at least some of those. And his attempt to have the DOJ serve as his defense in the rape trial didn't go over well either. 3+ years in-between is also a lot of time for many of those to advance to the point of no return.

Off topic but part of me wonders just how many of us stopped playing the game but still remain here. I quit in WotLK just before ICC came out, actually made it to top 24 in the world in druids according to some of the charts before I quit.

Also lost 50 pounds when I did too and I think I am the reason they blocked many of the auction house addon's as I owned the horde side auction house for 6 months on my server for the inscription profession. Actually ran out of stuff to buy by the end of that.

Got a friend who has been asking me to get back into it and tried on the classic server, but just not as fun as it used to be, especially with all the min/maxing and its impact on PvP and the groups and all.

But notice how the DOJ stuff didn't get tossed out till after he was out of office? And how far the Republican's went to protect him at all levels and will gladly go down that rabbit hole again if he got up there.

If he managed to make it into the White House again, the Republicans would fall in line all over again and protect him and will even argue he couldn't be held accountable till after his term was up to prevent him from losing office and making them look bad. They would even work to make sure he was pardoned or given some extra special treatment on the stuff before he left office.

Remember, these are the same people who gleefully put a potential serial rapist on the supreme court while actually blocking the FBI and allowing them to commit perjury to their faces while on camera to do it. Ethics and integrity have no place in their life or governing style and are actually liabilities as all they care about is power and would gladly burn this nation down to make sure they are the ones ruling over the ashes as they have proven multiple times in the past 20 years.

I am thinking the opposite, the only way for Trump to regain his fortune and be kept safe from any prosecution is to run again and to have the republican party use their new laws them to throw out votes to give him the win. Of course I am a pessimist and think of the worse case scenarios however if I were Trump I would run again unless prosecutors gave me some kind of deal.

I do wonder what's the point. Pence has got to know he doesn't have a chance. The Trump cult hates him for not being more of a Trump lackey and the non-cult hates him for being too much of a Trump lackey.

So it's gotta be about ego or money or something...unless he really things the party will change that much in a few years.

Once again a voter ID law, this time in North Carolina, is struck down for...

    Drumroll please...

Being racist as fuck and targeting African Americans.

The majority of the three-judge panel said Friday that the law "was motivated at least in part by an unconstitutional intent to target African American voters."

"Other, less restrictive voter ID laws would have sufficed to achieve the legitimate nonracial purposes of implementing the constitutional amendment requiring voter ID, deterring fraud, or enhancing voter confidence," Superior Court Judges Michael O'Foghludha and Vince Rozier wrote in their ruling Friday.

A friend of mine is a part-time cam model (times are hard) and she was telling me earlier this week that she just had to spend an entire day banning people from her room because they were all sent by a pro-Trump model to harass her because she's Asian (and, incidentally, was doing better in the rankings than the Trumper model). According to her they were all spamming this new slogan for Trump for 2024 "Take America Back" or some shit, which is kinda funny because that makes the acronym TAB and we all know Trump never pays those.

At any rate, if he does run again I expect there to be much more violence this time around.

The second he announces he's not running, he loses all that skimmable fund raising. This might actually happen.

The first high profile Republican to get shot and killed for defying Trump will be The Last Straw I'd say.
Mitch would drop Chao off at Putin's, wait in the car and when she comes out 10 minutes later he'd kiss her on the mouth if he thought his life might be threatened. They'd jump on Dolan with both boots.

If you look, you can see the straw man walking a red herring up a slippery slope coming to join this conversation.

Not entirely sure on that, unless it is UPPER echelon, like McConnell himself or maybe one of the Supreme Court Justices and McConnell sees himself starting to lose control of the courts due to it.

Outside of that, McConnell would have zero issues letting virtually every other Republican around him die to keep power for himself and the group. Those below him will have different breaking points and McConnell would try and work within that, but unless it actually ends up tangibly costing McConnell himself or his influence, I don't really see him having anymore loyalty than Trump does.

As far as the others, what all would they do at that point? They refused do anything up until that point and so left it where the only voters they REALLY have left are the ones who will look the other way or even endorse that violence on them.

If Grassly, or Graham DeSantis, or any of them were attacked by Trumps people, the rest would give a strongly worded condemnation about it but that would be about it because they know THOSE are their voters as well. Without them, they don't get elected, and if they go against them, they get replaced with even more like them. If the Republican's wanted an actual way out that didn't destroy them, they let that boat sail already.

Now, they are stuck on that ship and the only ways off is to either get thrown overboard by their voters or sink the boat themselves.

I think 2 is his lucky number.
    2 impeachments.
2 losses of the white house.
    2 chins.

Never underestimate this man's ego and how Kanye he is.
Honestly wouldn't be surprised if he asked the chipmunk to be his running mate.

He wouldn't. But people would stop giving to him, at least so much.

Maybe he'll end up scamming so much from his cult they can't afford transportation to the polls...then they'll know a little more about what voter suppression feels like.

Dude, I see that as one of the good things about this. The more they give Trump, the less they give the GOP. Too bad company donors aren't doing that too, actually watch the GOP go dry on funds from even the corporate sector because of him. Now THAT would be something, but still probably not enough to get them to actually favor the best interests of the nation or the voters themselves though.

Naw, of course not. Willful ignorance and confidently voting against your best interests are hallmarks of the Republican voting base.

We're not talking about people who want the vaccine, but can't get one. We're talking about those who deny its effectiveness. I'm with you on that one.
