In which Kansans elect a known abuser who has tweeted out threats to the state governor, Republicans seat said abuser despite objections from Democrats demanding some minimum standards for him to sit in the House.

And in which, after a recent incident where he was arrested for domestic violence this weekend, he is still a sitting member of the Kansas House because he has an (R) next to his name.

Just a reminder of what Republicans consider acceptable, or even "good."

The Republican party is the party of abusive highschool edgelord trolls. This manchild needs help, yet the Republican party is all too happy to continue enabling his abusive behavior towards others.

The lies are effective, as now roughly half of all Republicans believe that their votes won't be counted accurately. And a whopping 22% say that Bidens win was legitimate.

Man, the Republican party is doing more to undermine trust in liberal democracy than anything Putin could have ever dreamed of accomplishing from the outside.

Cool, maybe they'll be too demoralized to vote and we'll be able to get some actual work done in future elections, then.

I really do hope they enjoy it quite so much when it's used against them. At this point, why not? There's no consequences.

    Well, this should be interesting.

So we all know the Texas abortion law is basically Texas saying "We can't ban abortions, but if you private citizens wanted to sue random-ass people that might or might not be involved, you get $10,000 if you're right and no consequences if you're wrong, and we, the goverment of Texas, just allow this vigilante justice to run unchecked."

And we all know Biden's challenge is all the way to SCOTUS' doorstep.

But what we might not have known is Texas is claiming Biden can't sue because, well, Texas law enforcement isn't doing anything. That's right: their defense against "your choice to let mob rule is illegal" is "well you should take it up with the mob, our hands are tied".

And, funny story, Kavanaugh doesn't seem to care for it.

Kavanaugh, citing an amicus brief by a Second Amendment advocacy group, asked whether S.B. 8 could become a model “for suppression of other constitutional rights.”

“It could be free speech rights. It could be free exercise of religion rights. It could be Second Amendment rights if this position is accepted here,” Kavanaugh said. “The theory of the amicus brief is that it can be easily replicated in other states that disfavor other constitutional rights.”

When Stone replied that Congress has the authority to bolster those rights through legislation, Kavanaugh pushed back on the suggestion.

“Well, for some of those examples, I think it would be quite difficult to get legislation through Congress,” he said.
Actually, he brings up a good point. I hereby propose a law in (insert your state here) that says that anyone can sue whoever they see carrying a gun, driving someone who is carrying a gun, or selling someone a gun. They can sue demanding proof that the gun is 100% legal and that the owner of the gun has passed all required checks and has all required licenses. If they do, the lawsuit is dismissed but the target of the lawsuit must still pay their own court costs. They cannot countersue. If the gun owner does not have all the required paperwork etc. then the target of the lawsuit -- even if they are not the gun owner -- must pay the guy who sued them $10,000 and also cover both sides' court costs.

That's not taking away Second Amendment rights, heavens to betsies no! This is simpy the average citizen being given the ability to restore the trust. It's not the government taking your guns. It's the people restoring the trust. Y'all want trust to be restored, right? Y'all want to know that all those gun owners are safe, legal gun owners following all the rules, right? You don't mind being dragged into court by random-ass strangers, just to restore the trust, right?

    It's both or neither, people.

Greene fined four times for failing to mask up.

"Well that makes sense, when you last posted it was three."

No no, four more today. These fines are deducted straight from her paycheck and she's stopped appealling them, choosing instead to play the victim.

That's $18,000 she's been fined for not wearing a mask.

I wonder how much good that could have been done if it had been donated to charities serving her constituency.

$18000 for 8 fines, would be 500 first time, 2500 for each successive instance.
She appears to be salaried at $174,000.
They keep spouting "FREEDOM ISN'T FREE!." It's cost her $18000 so far to claim her liberties is being trampled on.
That seems like the perfect time to hold everyday sessions of Congress. 7 days a week, even if it's only for an hour.
Isn't the quote "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time by the tax funded salaries of stupid fucking congresspeople."?

To be fair, while he is a Democrat, based on the article it looks like the GOP is even more responsible for him not being held accountable, though the Dems definitely deserve some blame as well.

Voters waved him on in, and then Republican House leadership overruled the House Democrats, who wanted to at least impose some structure on his promises to do better.

Since all of his abusive behavior happened before he took office, GOP House leaders said last year, well, nothing could be done.

I'm actually curious what fund fines such as those go into.

I'm sorry, but how is a clearly psychologically unwell woman still licensed to practice medicine? This lady needs therapy, not the ability to prescribe drugs.

If she is your doctor and you don't ask for a second opinion it's probably ruled a suicide.

LoL He's the guy that Glenn Greenwald and the Intercept were pushing for. We were warning that he was a ratfucking candidate. Many an Intercept fanbois lost their shit here when people pointed out that Coleman was a toxic mess.

Ohh and Ryan Grim was also backing this guy.

Which dovetail with other redflags that came up in 2016 2020. That a lot of bad faith actors posing as journalists, hitched up with Bernie's campaign to PWN the Libruls from the left. They all rotate on the same podcasts.

Some of the nonsense I saw being bandied about went as far as saying JFK Sr is going to make the announcement next to where they faked his assassination. Trump/JFK Jr will be announced as the actual pres/vp followed by a world tour with JFK Sr. Today’s the day they get disappointed.

Looks like a decent number tailgating last night. Look close and you can see Trump/Kennedy and Trump/JFK Jr shirts.
