It has to break the rules first. It's hard to break the rules with a broken-ass ap with nobody on it yet.

There are a variety of ways to get kicked off the Apple Store, but one leaps to mind: collecting unauthorized data. Getting your name, email, and phone isn't exactly a big deal anymore and appears necessary hence authorized just to log on. Trump's supporters have proven to be gullible and anti-science. I find it unlikely that Team Trump won't immediately take advantage of this.

Another option, not sure how likely, is Apple vs. Fortnite related. If you use an Apple Store ap to purchase anything, Apple gets a 30% cut. Ouch. Fortnite got in trouble by telling people to bypass this and go directly to their own website. I don't know if WinRed or political donations count, even though we have proof Trump is just pocketing the cash for profit. But if Trump's social media platform has ads (I think it will) for the Trump store (I think it will) Trump either has to pay Apple 30% -- bumping prices to cover the loss, one would imagine -- or try to weasel out of the payment by rerouting the purchase through other channels and feigning indignation when caught.

Guess which one I expect Trump to do.

Or the users could just get super violent and super sexist without moderation, to the point that even Apple says "we don't want the money THIS badly". Trump's social media platform, as we all know, will have censorship, moderation, and banning. Most of that will be aimed at people who criticize Trump, because Trump is a wailing wee baby whose feelings get hurt by a light breeze. But if their AI bots don't also start dragging down the white supremacists planning violence, Apple will just hand everything over to the FBI then shut it down.

I forgot that Devin is technically in charge of this thing.

Does anyone know of a clever Buddhist saying along the lines, "Can a man truly outrun his Cow?"

Trump's 'Truth Social' suffers a chaotic rollout as Devin Nunes vows to get bugs fixed by late March.

Well, since it is President's Day, this popped up in my YouTube feed. Fits perfectly with Trump. Wasn't too far off of the truth either.

Candace Owens called for the US to invade Canada to stop Justin Trudeau cracking down on trucker protests

Remind me of South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. Very catchy songs.

"STOP talking about Russia. Send American troops to Canada to deal with the tyrannical reign of Justin Trudeau Castro," wrote Owens, a supporter of Donald Trump known for stirring controversy online.

"He has fundamentally declared himself dictator and is waging war on innocent Canadian protesters and those who have supported them financially."

I woulda gone with Canadian Bacon. More classic; fewer catchy songs, though.

Not surprisingly she wants people to ignore the actual fascist planning on starting an actual war.

The most aggravating part about the truckers is the clear difference in how THESE protestors are being treated. The pipeline protestors were treated like shit, but the cops are walking protestors away from THIS garbage while hugging some of them, while hurting literally no one. And conservatives have the fucking GAL to use the Pipeline protests as an example of why Trudeau gently handling these literal Nazis is evil.

Im so fucking tired of these people, and I’m doubly tired of fucking America farting its shitty politics into my country.

So we've talked about how Trump's PAC gave $350,000 to candidates and $375,000 directly to himself. Turns out, there's a bit more.

    It spend $838,000 on rallies.

Trump does not care about people who are not Trump. He wants a crowd with people cheering his name, telling him he is good and bigly and yuge, trying to fill the endless hole where a father's love should go.

It was a matter of time until sites like cnet got into the fray. I find this take particularly interesting:

Can you say anything you want on Truth Social?
No. Like other social networks, the app has rules users agree to when they accept the app's terms of service.

One section, called prohibited activities, outlines everything users agree not to do. That includes tricking, defrauding or misleading the company and other users "especially in any attempt to learn sensitive account information such as user passwords" and filing "false reports of abuse or misconduct."
Of course, that's pretty standard. The rest...less so.

You also aren't allowed to impersonate other users or use any information obtained from the app to "harass, abuse or harm another person." In some cases, Truth Social's rules are more strict than Twitter's. For example, Twitter allows users to post pornography if the content is marked as sensitive, but Truth Social says sexual content or language isn't allowed.

User-generated content also can't be false, inaccurate or misleading or include threats of violence, according to Truth Social's terms of service. Apps such as Facebook and Twitter have similar rules, but users have disagreed with how the companies interpreted their policies.
As a reminder, Trump is making his own casino, with blackjack and hookers, because he was kicked off Twitter for -- say it with me -- false, inaccurate, misleading posts and also incitements to violence.

I don't mind that Trump's social media platform claims they will ban all sexual content and language...but...I don't think they will. We've seen how Trump treats women, we've seen the fans he intentionally cultivated. That either will be a reserved excuse for banning the worst of it, or won't be enforced at all.

I share cnet's skepticism that Trump's social media platform will remove things which are actually objectively false. I think the moderators, AI bots last I checked, are looking for things to label "false" as an excuse to kick them off. I'm willing to bet actual money nobody will be kicked off for saying Trump won the election, and in fact, am willing to bet real money people will be kicked off for saying he didn't.

SCOTUS has officially denied Donald Trump's call for Supreme Court review of the Jan. 6 select committee's bid for his White House records.

This was largely expected, given that SCOTUS had already denied Trumps' request for a stay on this case — effectively releasing the documents to the committee.
Again with Ginni Thomas's seat warmer, being the only exception to defend Trump's position.

    Read that here

Tuesday's development formally ends Trump's legal effort to stymie lawmakers' efforts to obtain a batch of schedules, call logs, emails and other requested documents that the committee says could illuminate key circumstances surrounding the deadly Capitol riot.

The order leaves intact a lower federal appeals court ruling that found Trump's assertion of executive privilege and other legal theories unpersuasive in light of President Biden's refusal to invoke privilege, as well as the House panel's pressing task.

So, what's new in the world of Trump?

    1) That thing @Milchshake just posted.

    2) A crack team of forensic language analyists have likely found the Q that is QAnon, by comparing likely suspects' language and grammar to the posts.

The winner is...Furber, a South African who was a huge proponent of conspiracy theories even before QAnon.

Sleuths hunting for the writer behind Q have increasingly overlooked Mr. Furber and focused their speculation on another QAnon booster: Ron Watkins, who operated a website where the Q messages began appearing in 2018 and is now running for Congress in Arizona. And the scientists say they found evidence to back up those suspicions as well. Mr. Watkins appears to have taken over from Mr. Furber at the beginning of 2018. Both deny writing as Q.

The studies provide the first empirical evidence of who invented the toxic QAnon myth, and the scientists who conducted the studies said they hoped that unmasking the creators might weaken its hold over QAnon followers. Some polls indicate that millions of people still believe that Q is a top military insider whose messages have revealed that former President Trump will save the world from a cabal of “deep state” Democratic pedophiles. QAnon has been linked to scores of violent incidents, many of the attackers who stormed the Capitol last year were adherents, and the F.B.I. has labeled the movement a potential terrorist threat.
    3) Let's talk about Adam Johnson.

    "...who?"

Prosecutors are seeking 90 days in prison, and a steep fine. To prove how even these murderous insurrectionists don't have any defense, his lawyers actually tried "if he had stolen some other less famous piece of furniture..." in court. No, really.

Johnson, his attorneys claimed, "deeply regrets his participation in the breach of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021." They say the "life-changing decision" he made to enter the Capitol has negatively impacted his family, and they asked the court to "consider the significant and negative impact that incarceration would have on his sons." They argued that he wouldn't have received as much attention had he grabbed some other podium during the Capitol attack.

"Unfortunately, he received considerable attention simply because the lectern belonged to Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi," they wrote. "Arguably, if he latched onto some other piece of government furniture for his photo opportunity jail time would not even be a consideration."
I do not believe this will work. "Your Honor, I should get a lighter sentence because I could have stolen something else instead but didn't".

    4) Speaking of conspiracy theories, FOX News/Business' Cavuto came back after a long hiatus to say "the COVID vaccine saved my life".

    5) By now, we've all heard of Trump's defense about taking those boxes of top-secret documents. Well, "defense" is the wrong word.

The National Archives did not ‘find’ anything, they were given, upon request, Presidential Records in an ordinary and routine process to ensure the preservation of my legacy and in accordance with the Presidential Records Act. If this was anyone but ‘Trump,’ there would be no story here.
We've had our fun laughing at how stupid that was, but there's more to it, namely, "upon request".

    Big surprise, Trump is lying.

Not only did Trump wait until NARA called the DoJ before complying, he is still holding other demanded materials. Again, it could not possibly matter less what kind of top-secret stuff he has, he's not allowed to have any of it. Trump is trying to control the narrative before he gets dragged into court and is found objectively guilty.

    6) And of course, the big one.

Remember how I keep bringing up over and over that Trump's father never loved him? I did it at least once in the last 24 hours. It's glaringly obvious if you look at how he's run his life for the last 60-some years. Oh, it's not an excuse for him being a fat orange fuckwit, he's a grown-ass man, he is in control of his own actions.

    Including this one.

Eric Trump, somehow the least favorite child in a field that includes Don Jr and a child, known pants-shitter, decided to call his father in front of a crowd and put him on speakerphone.

It went exactly as you'd expect: viral.

You know what, Dad, there is so much love in this room for this country and for you and everything you accomplished. And, um, I speak on behalf of every single person here: They love you, I love you, we’re proud of you.

Well thank you very much, and everybody enjoy yourselves and have a good weekend, and I’ll be in Ohio soon and I’ll see you all.
I want you to read that back. Twice, if need be. What's missing?

The answer, of course, is Trump saying "I love you too". Not just to the crowd, but to Eric. His son. In public.

    Wanna see the video?

I would call this "sad" and "pathetic"...so I will. This is sad and pathetic. But it can't possibly be a surprise. Trump is doing to his children what his father did to him, which means he is no longer the fat orange fuckwit victim, but the fat orange fuckwit perpetrator.

Let's ask this question: Eric calls with the same message, but in private this time. Does Trump even answer the phone?

It should be noted that the event Eric was calling from also had Alex Jones, Mike Lindell, and Flynn. So, yeah, we know what type of people were there. Trump didn't say "I love you" to them, either. Now, that was probably safe, these people would literally rather die than support anyone who is not Trump. Trump would have to go out of his way to lose their votes. But both we, and Trump, knows how valuable they are to Trump as an asset. He could have said something.

And just in case you don't think it's that bad:

You've seen this image, multiple times. It's from the AI waitlist login thingy from Trump's social media platform. What does it say? "We love you". To someone the app only knows by name, phone number, and email.

Trump's social media AI bot just showed more love to a stranger, than Trump did to his own son. In public.

The next time someone tries to go with "Trump isn't a sociopath" I want you to bring up that video, and that image. Then, handwave their defense, because it's objectively disproven.

He might be third. I have watched the Lethal Weapon franchise. Yes, I know that's fiction, but so is everything QAnon says.

Unrelated, this article suggests a pretty solid reason Putin didn't invade Ukraine under Trump.

Putin wants to end democracy -- the man is a murdering dictator after all. He wants to see icons of democracy fail. Thing is, during Trump, he didn't need to. Trump was doing that all on his own. That, plus Trump doing literally nothing about the Crimea situation, and he was just "Well, this is just what I wanted". There was no reason to risk anything for gain he was already getting.

I wouldn't bring it up, but Trump recently mentioned he was to busy stopping Russia from going into Ukraine, despite literally no evidence of this at all. So I think a counterpoint is fair.
