As a reminder, not only has Rep. Brooks been a faithful ally for the last six years, but also, Trump is continuing to push election fraud with not only no evidence, but the evidence against as well. Brooks made a choice to focus on relevant issues and as such Trump, continuing to spout conspiracy theories with nothing but his word to back them, dropped him.

I also like how Trump took credit for Brooks' 44-point lead. It's like taking credit for unemployment dropping from 42% on Jan 20, 2017.

In the Party of Trump, there is only loyalty to Trump. Even saying "let's move on from 2020" is now heresy. Trump is still claiming election fraud. So, yeah, you know what this means. Any Trump supporter who dares to show their face in these forums, must now speak out on election fraud. This is the Trump thread, Trump has made it very clear election fraud is his biggest (only?) issue, therefore, we need to hear from Trump supporters their opinion on the subject. Anything else will be summarily handwaved, because the biggest issue for Trump in a Trump thread needs to be discussed by Trump supporters before anything else like, I dunno, Biden's good unemployment results.

EDIT: Oh, I didn't mean to suggest non-Trump supporters need to discuss, or not discuss, election fraud. We can discuss any Trump-related topic as normal. Trump has simply made election fraud his only issue, and therefore, Trump supporters' point of view on the subject is now mandatory. Everyone else is not so restricted, we follow candidates with more than one platform issue.

I actually took the time to read not just the FOX News version of the story, but also, the comments being posted live. It appears to be a nearly 50/50 split of people saying "Brooks was losing and Trump has no endorsement clout anymore, it's time to look elsewhere" and "LOL 2000 pages of election fraud evidence I drive trucks y'all HUNTER BIDEN!" If you don't mind the cookies FOX drops, it's worth a look.

The first 50% are right. In a recent poll Brooks had about 18% support and both his primary opponents had about 33% each. He could spoil, but that's about it.

That said, I did stumble across that Brooks is apparently running for Senate, so, he's not a complete dumbass for going after McConnell. Just 90% of one, because now he has no backers.

I believe his passport was taken earlier because he was a flight risk during the Russia investigation. And passport issues are federal, not local. I don't know if his passport was revoked for him because he's a convicted (pardoned) felon. I'm told that's a possibility.

When looking around, the most common cause cited was failure to pay taxes. Which can easily happen when you commit financial crimes. Also child support, but, not in this case.

Manafort is a Russian agent, well, "pro-Russia Ukraine" agent. He was forced to register thusly. Dubai is where a lot of money is. It would not surprise me at all if Manafort, in the ongoing effort to help Putin, was trying to arrange a sanctions detour to help his Russian, I mean, "pro-Russian Ukraine" friends whose money is locked up. In other words, this is exactly why financial crimes should revoke your passport.

Obviously this story just broken and I'm working with what little information we have. The stories say "revoked" not "expired" or "lost". Passports don't get "revoked" by accident, and I don't think Manafort "revoked" his own passport. Well, other than committing crimes and being caught, that is.

Sarah Palin tries to get the judge to remove himself for saying she could not prove her case against the NYTimes, seconds before the jury also said she could not prove her case against the NYTimes. This move, I guess? would change the verdict from "both the judge and jury found she had no case" to "she gets another try", or that's what I'm assuming because otherwise why bother?

The issue seems to revolve around the fact that the judge said "no matter what the jury says, you have no case and I'm ruling that way" and Palin says that contaminated the jury. Who...had their smart phones with them, apparently, you'd think that's the problem, but no. In other words, Palin's lawyers are saying "if you hadn't announced ahead of time, we couldn't file this legal motion". Which is a stupid thing to say when going for an effective appeal. Even if it works, it shouldn't but they might humor her, but even if it works the next judge will just not say anything, wait till Palin makes no case, then throw it out without saying anything. Or, better yet, let the jury find there's no case and say nothing.

We are seeing Team Trump try everything in a court case except "not committing crimes". At least, in this case, Palin is the plaintiff.

The court said Sunday that Thomas had been admitted to Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington on Friday after experiencing “flu-like symptoms,” and he was diagnosed with an infection. His “symptoms are abating,” and he was expected to be released Monday or Tuesday, the court said in a statement at the time. But on Wednesday morning, court spokeswoman Patricia McCabe said she had no update to provide.

The court heard arguments Wednesday morning and Chief Justice John Roberts said, as he has for the past two days, that while Thomas was not present he would participate in the case by reviewing the arguments’ transcript and briefs. Roberts said Thomas was “unable to be present today” without explanation.

I have seen little about Thomas' health problems. He missed a few days in Oct 2019 and apparently couldn't serve in the military because his backbone is crooked. Yes yes, spineless jokes follow. But he knows how important his seat is to the far right and that Biden's in charge for two years and change. A few days in a hospital with intravenous antibiotics doesn't sound like a lot of fun, and other than "it's not COVID" we don't know anything except intravenous antibiotics suggest it's not a random-ass cough.
