The only people who thought the Georgia Guidestones meant anything were fringe conspiracy nutcases; the same kinds of people who think alien autopsy videos are real or the like. The Georgia Guidestones were a weird bit of nonsense put up in 1980 by some wealthy nut, and they've never meant anything.

Wait...so DeSantis is giving families with kids $450 to offset inflation given FL's budget surplus. Great news!

But...I thought that it was all that "free gub'mint money" that was causing this inflation according to conservatives? Aren't these families gonna be living the high life with that $450 over the next year or two? I've heard from Mitch McConnel, Joe Rogan, and more in the Republican intelligencia that it's that up to $3,200 that people received over the past two years that's why nobody is working anymore and why inflation is so high. They're just living like fat-cats off that $3,200! Don't need no job when you're rolling in that kinda dough!

But real, I'm a fan of using budget surpluses to reinvest elsewhere or, if the times call for it, giving some folks tax dollars back to them to help them get through tough times.

Right, everyone who's still on TV, take one step forwards. Not so fast, OAN!

Verizon Fios, currently the largest pay-TV platform still carrying OAN, announced on Thursday afternoon that it had been unable to come to terms with the network’s owners on a new agreement and would no longer carry the channel after this month.

“Our negotiation with OAN has been a typical, business as usual carriage negotiation like those that routinely happen between content distributors and content providers. These negotiations were focused on economics, as they always are, but OAN failed to agree to fair terms,” a Verizon spokesperson said in a statement.

“Since we were unable to reach an agreement, effective July 31, 2022, we will no longer have the rights to provide our customers with this programming, and it will be removed from the Fios TV lineup,” the statement continued.

“Our company has long advocated for providing customers with the ability to choose what content they want to watch, and our Fios TV platform offers a wide and diverse choice of programming options, including a la carte options, that strive to meet our millions of customers' various content needs and preferences,” the telecommunications company concluded.

Following DirecTV’s decision to drop the pro-Trump channel, denying OAN of its biggest revenue stream by far, the channel has gone through an existential crisis. Besides dealing with a talent exodus and dropping employee morale, One America News also faces billion-dollar lawsuits over the election lies spread by its hosts.
Man, that's satisfying. So what caused the death?

    1) They're not news. They're not even biased. They're just flat-out liars.

    2) Like an idiot, they were attacking Verizon while negotiating their own contract. Which is like insulting the person giving you a job interview. Remember when OAN asked their viewers to find dirt on the head of AT&T?

    3) They blamed their failing ratings on being censored by the government. Which they weren't. The government doesn't run DirectTV or Verizon.

    4) They repeatedly, openly espoused claims of election fraud when there weren't any. Hence, the lawsuits. Incidentally, you don't drop a channel from your cable company when they get sued. You drop them when you know they'll lose.

    5) Their ratings have been falling since they backed the Arizona recount which, as everyone here knows, was based on lies and failed to find anything other than more Biden votes. OAN is not part of Nielsen, yet lies and claims high viewership. Nielsen estimated last year its viewership was about 14,000 people.

They're still on YouTube...for now. But in a matter of days, they'll be off both DirectTV and Verizon, which apparently was like 90% of their revenue.

This article was forwarded to me by a good friend of mine, who if you can believe it, tolerates bullshit even less than I do.

    Awesome, now do Newsmax next.

I do hope the Mercers and all the other gross conservative billionaires subsidizing failing conservative media outlets like Breitbart don't bail these jokers out. Not that it would matter that much since they'd have to find a way to get picked up by a cable companies again and I don't think any of them want much to do with a company facing a billion-dollar lawsuit.

Furthermore 450 bucks might cover… a month… of rent in some parts of Florida. And by that I mean “cover a single month’s worth of the difference of how much people are getting their rent raised, on top of the actual rent” because Florida has zero rent control measures and rent has shot up 400-600 bucks a month in some places, especially Orlando.

I’m all for helping people out, and 450 more bucks isn’t a bad thing. But a solution to the problems Florida is facing it isn’t.

Once again, it's time for Guess the Speaker!

    "Pelosi."

No. I mean, okay, fine, by the way a murderous insurrectionist who threatened to shoot her just got 60 days in jail for it. But here's the quote:

Just another liar and pawn in Pelosi’s witch-hunt
"Obviously a response to the Jan 6th prime-time panel, but not enough ALL CAPS to be Trump. So...a House Republican?"

Close, it's the House Republican Conference in a tweet attacking Matthews, who yes, was testifying prime-time.

    "I can't find the tweet."

They deleted it. Seems they might have forgotten Matthers still works for them. Communications director for a subcommittee.

Matthews, a former Trump campaign officer, was one of the staffers who resigned in protest Jan 6th.

Make no mistake, the events on the 6th were a coup attempt, a term we’d use had they happened in any other country, and former President Trump failed to meet the moment.

While it might be easier to ignore or whitewash the events of that day for political expediency — if we’re going to be morally consistent — we need to acknowledge these hard truths.
    -- Matthews, in a non-deleted tweet

Yeah, big surprise, the GOP took issue when being called a hypocrite for all their hypocrisy.

Matthews has testified before. For example, she called out Trump for personally, directly and specifically attacking Mike Pence in the middle of the riot. You know, during the "Hang Mike Pence!" chants of armed Trump supporters Trump aimed at the Capitol. Not before, during.

The situation was already bad, and so it felt like he was pouring gasoline on the fire by tweeting that
"This sounds a lot like Hutchinson."

    She agrees.

Anyone downplaying Cassidy Hutchinson’s role or her access in the West Wing either doesn’t understand how the Trump WH worked or is attempting to discredit her because they’re scared of how damning this testimony is.
-- this tweet isn't deleted either

Incidentally, the effective head of the group that sent, then deleted, that tweet is my whore of a Rep Elise Stefanik. We may have to re-run the "who does DeSantis choose as his VP" poll.

Wait you mean Biden and democrats are giving Florida families 450 dollars since that whole state voted against the very covid fund that are paying for it.

Gov. Ron DeSantis announced he set aside $35.5 million of COVID-19 relief funds for the checks.

The very thing they claimed caused inflation.
    Buh Byeeeeeeeeeeee !!

"I don't want to say the election is over"

See...I don't even need to quote the article. You already know who said it, where, when, and why.

No really. Guess, then click the CBS News link. How close were you? (If you've been following the Jan 6th panel you might already know)

  13. #78993
I don't know how you whatabout this because quite frankly if a Dem ever did any of this you'd see the conservatives demand the military arrest everyone involved.
But it's not just about them demanding it, because the Military probably would've went along with it.

It's quite clear Trump wanted a coup.

Miffi, it's only a coup if it's from the Coup region in the North of France.
    Otherwise it's just sprakling fascism.

They don’t need a functioning government to line their pockets, so whether those employees are there or not is immaterial.

Oh trust me they may find a hard time finding people or this time it may go FULL fascism. Either way Trump will do some scary shit.

Now as I always say the cry baby Republicans always project. With the Secret Service, the Postmaster, etc., needs a good ole purging by Biden. I stated before I had a tinfoil hat on when the Secret Service story broke about some deep state stories and it seems to be true now. In short any person employed when under Trump is a danger to any government organization they are in.

It would have a shitload of Acting roles. Which the Republicunts in Congress would shrug at.

Ex-Prosecutor: Manhattan DA Thought Indicting Trump Was Too Risky

Very depressing and this person is a total waste. Likely him bailing then leaving really kills the momentum. This is likely dead.

In short he was scared and didn't want to lose the case. What you want from every prosecutor to not even try, especially in white collar crimes that the rich are out of reach almost all the time.

The evidence, Pomerantz admits, was complicated and far-reaching. Prosecutors had found that Trump had routinely lied to banks to obtain loans that “would not have been made, except for the fact that Donald Trump gave the banks personal financial statements and attested to their accuracy,” Pomerantz said.
So if we go by this statement and remember Pomerantz publicly quit and criticized Bragg for ending the prosecution. This shows how the rich can protect themselves so much and real estate business is really toxic. You can basically bury the crime in paperwork and get away with egregious financial statements.

My commentary here is the poor son of bitches who cheer for him and the rich and would never be able to do this.

Pomerantz said he and the rest of the team were confident that they had enough evidence to indict Trump. But he said it would still be challenging to nail the former president for the same reason he’s dodged law enforcement time and time again: his behavior, while morally reprehensible, didn’t neatly fit the definition of certain crimes.
I guess in the end this is one thing Trump will get away with.

I think that is the whole point. To dismantle parts of the government by just firing people.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death
