First @mvaliz and now this. I'm going to start charging people.

On topic: in the course of 24 hours, Trump's Secretary of Agriculture admitted $12 billion won't repair all the damage done to US farmers by Trump's tariff responses; Japan, the EU, and other automaking countries are meeting in Geneva to discuss how best to respond to Trump's tariffs; Trunp's campaign spent all day denying their flags were made in China despite Reuters finding the factory where they were made; the Koch Brothers are prepping for war against the White House; Pompeo admitted to Congress that NK was still making the material to make nukes and that was completely okay (see also: Iran Nuclear Deal); and a senile old man admitted he defended Cohen in a @lockedout kind of way "without knowing him very well" and only suddenly remembered Cohen was a pathological criminal liar criminal liar when CNN broke the story while he was live on the air.

So, you know. Business as usual.

Trump threatens to shut down the government if Democrats don't vote for Wall funding.

I've lost count of the number of his shutdown threats. Even he knows he's screaming into the wind. There is a zero to negative chance that Trump will shut down the government during midterms.

It is about preparing for the end of the world. This self masturbatory need for annihilation, fed by fear and longing for death.

And for anyone thinking Trumps "shitholes" comments wouldn't come back here we have the spokesperson for a White Supremacist candidate whom the GOP "denounce", but is still running under the Republican banner, repeating the phrase in reference to majority black US cities.

Because his racist dog whistling remains pretty god-damn effective.

Trump says he won't meet with Iran without preconditions.

'I promise to only meet leaders I've called murderous dictators if there are preconditions!" Trump said. "Except Russia. And North Korea."

Given the latest Trump temper tantrum and Giuliani acting like more of an idiot on TV, I'm excited to see what extremely damaging information breaks in the news this week.

So here's a blast from the past - remember this?

    https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-m...-force-one-bo/

Trump threatening to cancel the Air Force One refresh from Boeing that he claimed was over $4B? Well, it was actually under $4B, it was, according to Politifact, valued at roughly $3.75B.

So we'll get a great deal, right?!

    https://www.military.com/dodbuzz/201...al-boeing.html

Well, it'll cost $4B now, which the White House suddenly giving an original estimate of $5B and claiming that they've saving taxpayers $1.4B.

Oh, and Boeing apparently got a no-bid maintenance contract worth millions.

    Edit: https://www.politico.com/story/2018/...ax-cuts-747649

The people benefiting the most from the tax cuts? No, this isn't a "corporations are people" joke, but it's close!

Executives who are making tens/hundreds of millions off of selling their shares in their companies following major stock buybacks.

Following the tax cuts, roughly 28 percent of companies in the S&P 500 mentioned plans to return some of their tax savings to shareholders, according to Morgan Stanley. Public companies announced more than $600 billion in buybacks in the first half of this year — already toppling the previous annual record.

Year to date, buybacks have doubled from the same period a year ago, Merrill Lynch said in a July 24 report, citing its clients’ trading activity. “Last week we noted that buyback activity [was] poised to accelerate over the next six weeks, and indeed, corporate clients’ buybacks picked up to a two-month high and the 6th-highest level in our data history,” the company said.
    And per Politico -

That trend is likely to increase, as Wall Street analysts expect buyback activity to accelerate in the coming weeks.

Trump weighs big tax cut for rich: report
The Trump administration is considering acting unilaterally to institute a $100 billion tax cut that will largely benefit the wealthy, according to a report in The New York Times
    http://thehill.com/policy/finance/39...mpression=true

Oh you trumpkins fooled again. I know something about how this rich are God, blah, blah.

Remember he is trying to do this unilaterally. So don't cry when President Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, unilaterally raises taxes on the rich, you can't say bleep.

Oddly enough, this jab is now accurate after Pompeo weighed in and listed specific preconditions.

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-u...-idUSKBN1KK2GL

The Trump administration is considering bypassing Congress to grant a $100 billion tax cut to wealthy Americans by allowing taxpayers to account for inflation while determining capital gains tax liabilities, the New York Times reported on Monday.

The newspaper, quoting from an interview with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, said the administration could change the definition of “cost” used to calculate capital gains, allowing taxpayers to adjust the value of an asset for inflation when it is sold.

    ...

“If it can’t get done through a legislation process, we will look at what tools at Treasury we have to do it on our own and we’ll consider that,” the Times quoted Mnuchin as saying. “We are studying that internally, and we are also studying the economic costs and the impact on growth.”
So they're not even pretending they're trying to help out regular working folk or that they care about working with Congress, they just want to slash taxes for rich folk who don't need their taxes slashed even further than they already are.

I like where Giuliani is saying Trump wasn't at the Russia meeting even though no one has even brought up if Trump himself was there or not.

Giuliani had appeared to tell CNN’s Alisyn Camerota earlier that President Donald Trump was not present at the infamous Trump Tower meeting attended by Donald Trump Jr., a Russian operative and others in June 2016 ― though the media hasn’t asserted that Trump was there.

I'm starting to think Trump is setting the GOP up to lose the midterms. The only question I have if it's intentional or not.

I can totally see Trump seeking to get Dems in power so he can morph into a Dem friendly person and in doing so he thinks he can get some of the Russia investigation heat coming close to his family to simmer down.

It is and it isn't, but not for the reasons you say. It's his MO.

Get as much value for yourself and your associates as you can (Tax cuts), load up the debt on others (Deficit), bail (Not seriously run for election in 2020, throw the game). Everything else can take a flying fuck at a rolling doughnut.

That the GOP loses big doesn't matter. He got his 2 scoops of ice cream while everyone else got expired froyo or some other abomination in the eyes of Cher.

I'd more likely believe that he'd want the Dems to win so they might just impeach him. Imagine all the legal clusterfuck he'd cause if something like this happened. He knows he's fucked so he sets up the stage in the worst possible way for himself so that when the hammer does fall he plays the perfect victim.

Like Poopymonster said, he's already got his two scoops. All he needs to do now is shit everything else up. Throwing as much mud as possible, by discrediting any proceeding against him, at the Dems for coming down on him would be the perfect way to do that. Even if he settles like Clinton did he'd still come out ahead in his base's opinion. "I really wanted to run a second term, but those evil libs and that fake news got me!"
