The feasting upon one another continues...

After ousting Greene, at least one House Freedom Caucus member blames Trump and GOP for border struggles

An ultra-conservative member of the House Republican majority is laying blame for the surge of immigrants at the Southern border not at the feet of President Joe Biden, but on his fellow Republicans — namely, former President Donald Trump.

During a recent interview with Fox Business' Neil Cavuto, Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas), who sits on the far-right House Freedom Caucus, took his party to task for failing to take decisive action on the border while they were in power.

"I would acknowledge President Trump failed along with Republicans Paul Ryan and the guys, they failed in 2018 to actually move a border security bill to tighten this so we aren't dealing with this crisis right now," Roy said. "They failed to actually get the wall built. President Trump signed 12 continuing resolutions — after he said he would never sign another one — if they didn't give him the money to finish building the wall."
Lots of cracks forming in another wall Trump tried to build.

Chip Roy has spent the past handful of months blaming literally everybody but himself for his parties inability to govern, completely and totally unaware that that kind of behavior is the exact reason that they got themselves into this position and are unable to govern.

Losers go cry publicly about how things don't get done and that's just so unfair.

Winners make deals and get shit done behind the scenes, and then go home and fuck the prom queen (or king).

I highly doubt Chip Roy married the prom queen.

His central criticism really seems to be, "Donald Trump kept the government open." which uh...yeah good one, Chip.

If Mr. Giuliani truly wanted to appeal the Freeman Litigation, all he needed to do was not file for chapter 11 protection. Mr. Giuliani's sudden desire to participate in the Freeman Litigation, conditioned on a half-way lift of the automatic stay, calls the good faith of his chapter 11 filing into question.

[He is] looking to have his cake and eat it too: he wants to appeal the Freeman Litigation, not post a bond, and use the automatic stay to bar Ms. Freeman and Ms. Moss from enforcing their judgment

Elise Stefanik, my whore of a Rep, admits she's running for VP by denying Trump mixed up Pelosi and Haley.

...maybe "denied" is a strong word.

Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., balked at the idea that Trump has “lost a step” in an interview with NBC News, insisting that despite the former president mistakenly referring to Haley instead of Nancy Pelosi at a rally last night, it “wasn’t a mix-up” at all.

The reality is Nikki Haley is relying on Democrats, just like Nancy Pelosi, to try to have a desperate showing,” Stefanik said.

Pressed by NBC News that Trump was talking about Jan. 6 when he misspoke, Stefanik doubled down: “President Trump has not lost a step. He is a stronger candidate” now than in 2016.

Stefanik also dodged multiple times when asked whether she'd vote to certify the 2024 election results should Biden win again.

Asked whether she wanted to join the ranks of Trump’s potential running mates, Stefanik said she’s “focused” on her job in Congress and that “it’s a long time between now and November.”

Stefanik appeared this morning at Trump's campaign headquarters in New Hampshire, where she was met with "VP" chants.
"What does that bolded even mean?"

I don't think it means anything. I think it's "Trump is perfect, everyone else is a Democrat". Stefanik did not even attempt to explain how Trump put Haley in that fabrication, their names and roles are/were nothing alike.

Someone should really remind Chip that the longest government shutdown in US history happened under Trump.

Nobody has ever accused Chip Roy of having a brain. He's enough Strawman for the whole House of Representatives, but the Republican caucus appears filled with Strawmans.

So, since this story is not going away, and also, since Trump supporters have had nothing useful to say about it -- not talking about the pussy-ass cowards who fled these forums, I'm talking about my whore of a Rep Stefanik the only person I've seen who tried -- two more things on the topic.

    1) Mixing up the names of two people, I get it, I've done it, not this bad and not on the national stage, but I've done it. But nobody in the Trump camp, including Trump himself, has come out to say "oh, yeah, that looks bad, clearly Trump was just really heated and made an honest mistake between two women who are trying to destroy him and destroy America." Even Stefanik went with "Haley's a Democrat" and denied that it was an honest mistake.

If you refuse to admit your chosen leader can make a mistake, you don't have a leader, you have a god. The other day I posted bullshit about what NK's leaders have claimed they've done. Refusing to say, even once, "yeah Trump got two names mixed up, it happens", which to make it clear I have gone on record to say it's not that bad, means they're not going to admit any other mistakes, either.

This, of course, fits everything else we know, but this is worse. Yes, refusing to admit his adultery was a mistake was better. Yes, refusing to admit his routine felonious business actions and refusing to pay taxes was a mistake was better. Yes, refusing to admit Jan 6th was a mistake was better.

    Why?

Because this was next to nothing.

If you thought Jan 6th was a mistake, you'd have stopped supporting Trump by now. Refusal to admit even the smallest error is what people called fanatics do. The verbal slip, okay, but refusing to admit it was a verbal slip, that's worse. Maybe Trump is losing his mind, but we don't know because we don't have the full story. We do know his followers are insane cultists.

    2) Why didn't anyone correct Trump? Trump is a master at bullshit, he could have course-corrected. Surely there was a telepromptor, monitor, earpiece, something?

"How would you correct someone you just said had insane fanatical god worship?"

He has PR people he's paying for exactly this kind of issue! I'm not suggesting the crowd would have chanted "Pelosi! Pelosi!" I'm suggesting one of his staff would say "You're talking about Pelosi, not Haley!" Trump could have swapped gears mid-sentence and his followers, as I just said, wouldn't have noticed. Instead, the people who he paid to help him with speeches, are watching as days pass with every headline "Trump has dementia".

Which Trump has read. And Trump is not happy. I can prove it: what has he said on Truth Social in the last 24 hours?

    (crickets tweeting)

Exactly. Now, it could be that Trump had put himself in a situation they could not help him -- no monitor, no earpiece, nobody close enough to stage whisper. If so, they need to rethink that decision in the future. Or, it could be that Trump has thinned the ranks to the purists and it's costing him more and more.

The cover-up is worse than the act, especially this time.

Former Trump lawyer Joe Tacopina says Trump has a very good chance of being convicted on all his cases.

Probably "covered" would be a better. Basically like saying "Nikki Haley and Nancy Pelosi are basically the same person...I get them mixxed up too"

There are rules here, and I would never admit to willingly breaking them.

So instead, I will link this CNN article about the comparison being brought up by people like Ben Carson, comparing the very flawed Trump and the very flawed King David, which leaves out a lot of details like "King David begged for forgiveness", and call it a day. Read it if you want, it's an excellent piece about hypocrisy and definitely not other topics which need not be mentioned in any way.

Speaking of Stefanik, who is trying to be the "Other Woman" in DJT's administration, calls the media biased when asked about the upcoming judgement in the Carroll case. Even when pointed out that it was a jury who stated he did cause it.

Elise Stefanik Confronted Over Trump's E. Jean Carroll Case at Rally

House Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik has said she doesn't believe writer E. Jean Carroll's claim that Donald Trump sexually abused her in the dressing room of a Manhattan department store during the 1990s, despite a New York jury concluding he had in a civil case.

Stefanik, who has been tipped as a candidate to be Donald Trump's 2024 running mate if he secures the Republican nomination, was answering questions at a rally hosted by the GOP frontrunner in Concord, New Hampshire. One reporter asked Stefanik: "How do you grapple with standing by his side whilst a jury is debating how much to award E. Jean Carroll for being sexually abused by Donald Trump?"

The ongoing case is actually about whether Trump defamed Carroll a second time; a jury already concluded he sexually abused and defamed her during an earlier trial in May 2023, which saw the writer awarded $5 million in damages. Newsweek reached out to E. Jean Carroll and her attorney for comment on Saturday by email.
Stefanik replied to the journalist in New Hampshire: "There are witch hunts against Donald Trump."

The reporter interrupted, asking: "You don't believe E. Jean Carroll?"

The New York Republican pressed on with her answer to the first question, commenting: "Whether it's the bogus case from [New York Attorney General] Letitia James who is a radical prosecutor, they are all witch hunts against President Trump." In apparent reference to the second question, Stefanik then said: "No, of course, not."

Referring to the Carroll case, Stefanik later added: "They are all witch hunts against President Trump, and the reason why is he is polling ahead of Joe Biden, and Joe Biden is the weakest candidate we've ever seen. No, I don't believe that, and I support President Trump and you know what the media is so biased, this is just another example of the media being out of touch."

The journalist replied, "It's not me. It's not the media. It's a jury that found he sexually abused E. Jean Carroll," to which Stefanik said: "Again, the media is so out of touch with the American people; like 2016, you are going to see the American people speak out loudly and clearly with their vote."

A 1 minute, 15 second clip of the exchange, initially broadcast by conservative outlet Right Side Broadcasting Network, was posted on X, formerly Twitter, where it has received more than 1.8 million views.

Earlier this month, NBC News reported that Trump is considering Stefanik as his running made should he win the 2024 GOP nomination, having reportedly told advisers: "She's a killer."

Discussing Trump's possible running mates, Steve Bannon, who served as his chief White House strategist, replied: "Stefanik is at the top. If you're Trump, you want someone who's loyal above all else."

On Wednesday, Democratic Congressman Dan Goldman filed a motion to censure Stefanik, after she described Trump supporters imprisoned following the January 6, 2021 storming of Congress as "hostages."

On Thursday, Trump made 30 posts about either Carroll or her legal team, on his Truth Social website. Most were screenshots of posts that Carroll had previously made on X related to sex or sexuality. Newsweek contacted representatives of Trump by email asking why he was sharing these posts.

The day also saw Judge Lewis Kaplan order Alina Habba, Trump's attorney, to "sit down" in court during a fiery clash over whether the trial could be postponed the following day so the former president could attend his mother-in-law's funeral.

Man, they should have whittled it down to a one-on-one "Trump vs Not-Trump" months ago. The only chance "Never Trump" Republicans had was for them to all to get behind a single candidate right from the beginning. Not saying it would have been a good chance...but it would be better odds than they have now.

They never wanted to get behind anyone else. The whole "Never Trump" image was a smoke screen to appeal to the slightly less loonies in the Republican voter base. Republican politicians want power above all else -- and continuing to hitch their cart to the horse which is Donald Trump is the only way they can do it these days. But like everything else that Trump touches -- it will eventually go to shit and they'll burn right along side him.

I do think there is a part of the Republican Party that does want to see Trump gone...I just don't think that faction is strong enough. And the only way for them tog et stronger is for them to have a really strong alternative for tRump...and they've never had one.

I think the problem isn't that they're not strong enough. It's that they're not brave enough. Either they fear for their position/office or they fear for their actual lives considering the threats constantly being tossed their way.

This is really one of the most hilarious implosions in a long while.

Also pathetic in how it highlights how the Republican party is now the cult of Donald Trump.

Well, it amounts to the same thing. It might even be a chicken/egg situation. Are they not strong enough because they aren't brave enough...or are they not brave enough because they aren't strong enough?
