RFK Jr and Trump on a phone call being anti-vaxxers, Trump trying to get RFK Jr to drop out so Trump can win since most of the votes for RFK Jr are from Republicans.
My favorite part was the "leak" was RFK Jr's fuckin kid just fucking "tweeting it out".
RFK Jr being so unlikeable that even his family wouldn't go to bat for him, much less vote for him remains one of my favorite trends in modern politics.
This is exceptionally grand considering most sites were calling him a dark horse for the Democrats earlier this year.
confirmed by my uncle nitnendo and masahiro samurai
He joins Republican Rep. Paul Gosar in this unique and dubious honor.
What company to keep.
I agree with this completely. Unfortunately I've witnessed a lot of my extreme right wing co-workers losing their wives and custody of their children due to their extreme beliefs. That is the people I really feel for especially with Project 2025 and JD Vance specifically wanting women to remain in abusive marriages and attempting to remove no-fault divorces. I may not be 100% correct on this but I almost guarantee the men who lost their wives and children were likely domestic abusers and believe nonsense right wing podcasts prattle on about where a woman's sole responsibility is to their man and children and nothing else.

I watch them fight and die in the name of freedom. They speak of liberty and justice, but for whom? -Ratonhnhaké:ton (Connor Kenway)
My goodness. Losers still keeping up anti-vaxx and Covid in 2024. I always admit this is why Dems fight an uphill battle that people will just always focus on some stupid shit that you can never reach them.
The fact RFK talks to Trump and its like "how bout the vaxx bro?". FML
"Buh dah DEMS"
I think you are all experiencing something similar to what the queer community has always had to deal with; sometimes the ideological differences with close family are irreconcilable. Make an attempt but past that, it's better to cut and move on. At least you sound like a financially secure adult so it is much easier for you than it is for teenagers or young adults who depend on their parents financially and have to deal with ideological hatred on a daily basis.
There is a reason why the last two decades of media (possibly three?) are completely submerged in "found family" stories. People have had for a variety of reasons to move on from their born family because it was harmful to them.

Even funnier given that at least Trump absolutely got vaccinated.
I want to expand on that.
Team Trump seems to really like the idea that China made COVID on purpose.
From April 2020:
This was, of course, immediately refuted by everyone Trump has ever hired. And then it got worse.Donald Trump claims to have seen evidence to substantiate the unproven theory that the coronavirus originated at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, despite US intelligence agencies’ conclusion that the virus was “not manmade or genetically modified”.
“We’re going to see where it comes from,” Trump said at a White House event on Thursday. “We have people looking at it very, very strongly. Scientific people, intelligence people, and others. We’re going to put it all together. I think we will have a very good answer eventually. And China might even tell us.”
Pressed to explain what evidence he had seen that the virus originated in a Chinese lab, Trump responded, “I can’t tell you that. I’m not allowed to tell you that.”
The very next month:
"Wait, he said it was made by China but not allowed to say how he knew?"Donald Trump said on Thursday he was confident the coronavirus may have originated in a Chinese virology lab, but declined to describe the evidence, ratcheting up tensions with Beijing over the origins of the deadly outbreak.
Trump did not mince words at a White House event on Thursday, when asked if he had seen evidence that gave him a "high degree of confidence" the virus came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
"Yes, yes I have," he said, declining to give specifics. "I can't tell you that. I'm not allowed to tell you that."
He said that, yes.
"...didn't Trump make a big deal about being able to declassify whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted?"
He did, yes.
The very next month:
Trump continued to use "China Virus" indefinitely. To the best of my knowledge, he has not yet flat-out said the virus was randomly made by nature and spread because that's what viruses do. At best, he's gone "maybe".“There’s a chance it was intentional,” Trump said, in order to prolong the damage to competing economies, though he acknowledged that he did not have any evidence to support that claim.
“They’re saying, man, we’re in a mess,” he said. “The United States is killing us. Don’t forget, my economy during the last year and a half was blowing them away. And the reason is the tariffs.”
Trump softened his claim in the same interview: “I don’t think they would do that,” he said, acknowledging that the virus could have spread unintentionally. “But you never know.”
Now, that means, by Trump's own logic...Trump lost a trade war, a trade war, so badly, that one million Americans died.
Not just lost money. Not just lost jobs. The trade war killed a million Americans. By Trump's own logic.
@tikcol you might want to add that to the list. "Started a trade war that killed a million Americans".
Remember when very online leftists were citing Russel Brand on how "voting is pointless!"

An editor at a major news outlet wants the press to stop using the iconic photo of the assassination attempt against Donald Trump because it represents 'free PR' for his campaign.
The unnamed editor told Axios that sharing the historic photo of the former president standing after he survived the attempt on his life is 'dangerous despite how good it is.' Their outlet wasn't named either, but it said to receive millions of regular readers.
Liberal-leaning Axios reported that multiple unnamed photographers told them they were worried the image taken by Pulitzer winner Evan Fucci could turn into 'photoganda' by the Trump campaign to 'further their agenda, despite the photographers' intent of capturing a news event.'
One photographer said the photo could become a 'propaganda machine' and make Trump a 'martyr.'
The photograph of a bloodied Donald Trump with his fist in the air and an American flag looming in the background is quickly emerging as the pivotal image of Saturday’s shooting.
Video of the assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally filled television screens before it was even clear what had happened.
Yet the work of The Associated Press’ Evan Vucci, Getty’s Anna Moneymaker and Doug Mills of The New York Times — whose picture caught apparent evidence of a bullet whizzing past Trump’s head — proved the enduring potency of still photography in a world driven by a flood of moving pictures.
Vucci’s image, one of many he took on Saturday, could also have political implications from many directions — as indelible images often do in the days and years after seismic events happen.
'Without question, Evan’s photo will become the definitive photo from the (assassination) attempt,' Patrick Witty, a former photo editor at Time, The New York Times and National Geographic told the Associated Press.
'It captures a range of complex details and emotions in one still image — the defiantly raised fist, the blood, the agents clamoring to push Trump off stage and, most importantly, the flag. That’s what elevates the photo.'
Authorities are still working to figure out how 20-year-old Thomas Crooks was able to nearly shoot Trump in the head.
So far, there has been no public disclosure the shooter left any writings, suicide note, social media screed or any other indicator explaining his reasons for targeting Trump.
A law enforcement official briefed on the ongoing investigation told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity that Crooks’ phone had not immediately yielded any meaningful clues related to motive, or whether he acted alone or with others.
Crooks’ political leanings were also hazy. Crooks was registered as a Republican in Pennsylvania, but federal campaign finance reports also show he gave $15 to a progressive political action committee on January 20, 2021, the day Democratic President Joe Biden was sworn into office.
This looks pretty bad. Why conceal the truth?

One man's trash is another man's treasure
Oh. How fun. We have that dress where people see different colors. Except in this scenario one color is real and the other is make believe.
He's also known for the many, many, MANY businesses he has bankrupted along with being well known for not paying his bills.
Negotiation SkillsThe book he didn't even write. But sure, let's say he's good at negotiating...but let's check the next point.: He is often praised for his deal-making abilities, which he highlighted in his book "The Art of the Deal."
ConfidenceHe's also known for being crude and a bully, which many find off-putting. Which may explain you confusing this with good negotiation skills.: Trump is known for his confidence and assertiveness, which many find inspiring.
Direct CommunicationHis wandering, often incoherent unfiltered way of speaking confuses and concerns many who see it as a sign of his age and declining cognitive abilities.: His straightforward, often unfiltered way of speaking resonates with many who see it as refreshing and honest.
ResilienceYou know what. I'll give you this one. Trump has certainly weathered a lot of adversity and overcame it. But...so has Joe Biden and a ton of other people you probably loathe. Also, this whole "he got shot in the head" thing is....really stretching what happened to the point of disbelief. But that's what Trump does so I see what you love it.: Trump has shown a capacity to recover and persevere through various personal and professional challenges. Like, you know, getting shot in the head and immediately inspiring the people he represents to fight for Democracy.
Media SavvyI'll give you this one too. He knows being a profane bully on social media gets his base energized. The more vulgar and hateful he is the more his base loves it.: He has a keen understanding of media dynamics and has effectively used social media to engage with his base.
Focus on Economic GrowthDuring his presidency, Trump prioritized economic policies aimed at making the rich richer and corporations richer, which nearly all economists have said actually hurt the economy. Because guess what, trickle down economics isn't a thing.: During his presidency, Trump prioritized economic policies aimed at stimulating growth, including tax cuts and deregulation.
PatriotismTrump loves Americans who he chooses. He sure doesn't love minorities, immigrants, women, gays, democrats, or even other Republicans who don't bow down to him.: Trump frequently emphasizes his love for America and his commitment to putting American interests first.
Loyalty to SupportersDo you really need me to list the number of supporters he's turned on? Or left in the dust? C'mon - he's not loyal, he's a narcissist. As long as you are worshiping him you have his loyalty but the second you step even one step out of line or tell him no you are dead meat. That isn't loyalty. That's a mob boss.: He is known for being very loyal to his base, often prioritizing their concerns and viewpoints.
BoldnessSure. Fine. But then again so many of his opponents are also bold.: Trump’s willingness to take bold actions, even if controversial, appeals to those who prefer decisive leadership.
CharismaYes cult leaders do have a certain type of charisma. But it certainly isn't a broad charisma given his approval rating sit in the toilet and stay there.: His larger-than-life persona and energetic rallies have created a strong and dedicated following.
Focus on Law and OrderYes. I'm sure the convicted felon cares so deeply about law and order.: He often emphasizes the importance of law enforcement and public safety.
Unconventional ApproachI do love how the rich coastal elite fooled you all into thinking he's an outsider. How quickly and easily you forget all those photos of him with political figures such as the Clintons.: His outsider status and non-traditional approach to politics attract those disillusioned with the status quo.
Commitment to Campaign PromisesYou poor poor sweet child. I remember his campaign to ban bump stocks. Or to stop covid vaccinations. I could go on, but why bother. You stopped reading this half a page ago.: Many supporters, including myself, appreciate his efforts to fulfill his campaign promises.
Advocacy for Trade ReformMeh, my opinion is this is something someone gives him - I find it hard to believe Trump cares at all about trade reform. Also his tariff proposals have been universally panned at terrible for businesses and consumers alike.: His focus on renegotiating trade deals was aimed at benefiting American workers.

This one is easy - why on earth should anyone take Trump at his word? He has a long documented history of lying.
