The saving grace here, maybe, is that Trump couldn't give less of a flaming shit about RFK, and RFK brings nothing of ongoing value to Trump at this point. Whatever RFK was promised is worth less than the paper I'm sure it was never printed upon. Especially with Presidential immunity. If anyone makes Trump a better offer, he'll just stop talking RFK's phone calls entirely. It's not like Trump respects loyalty.

Well, best thing is, when it comes to actual departments, Trump and his cronies cannot get rid of them. Only Congress can. The only thing Trump can do is appoint someone that will make the department ineffective in a lot of ways. And while there are some members of the House that would love to do such a thing, there are far more in the Senate that doesn't. And neither side of Congress has enough of a buffer to start doing big changes as, well, in 2026, if they do enough big changes that negatively effect people, they can easily be replaced. Which is what usually happens in an off-election year.

My god, how are so many people this fucking stupid..... At this point, I wish there was some way to just either them or us manage to move to another planet and just leave them to deal with the consequences of their actions. Likely they would collapse rather quickly when they don't have anyone left to kick down on other than their own and all the scientists who actually learn and make stuff largely have left.
