The last time he was in office we had more farmers file for bankruptcy than any 4 year period since the great depression due to his tariffs and that was WITH the huge bailouts to them. I think he would be doing those tariffs again. And I don't think they fully recovered from the last one anyways since much of that business will never come back to them.

Unless those around him can convince him, he will be doing those tariffs again as they can't legally stop him from doing it.

Hate it for the innocent people here, but as far as the farmers go, if they all go under, they got what they deserved on it. I just hope those who take over the industry after them are smarter, but chances are it will likely be more corporations.

I hate to be a cynical asshole but that's the goal farmers going out of business, billionaires are buying farm land like crazy and instituting modern day serfdom for the people that work those land. Aside from the billionaires it's private equity which are the top land holders of the United States, the fallout from this will line the pocket of Trump's buddies.

That was already a thing unfortunately. My mother lives in the middle of bumfuck Minnesota and even during Trumps first term I recall her saying that the farms all out there were being bought out by companies.

As far as the cynic in you, that is just good old common sense it seems like. Wonder how long they can push that before the touches and pitchforks come out or the whole house of cards they created in the nation collapses in on itself with everyone trapped inside.

Trump's cabinet picks should alarm almost everyone with how unqualified they are.
Trump's refusal to sign the transition of power agreements should alarm everyone with what that implies.

I could go on...but let's face it - you aren't interested in what anyone actually has to say as long as you can find your cherry picked rage baiting content to share.

They always think they'll get a special exception.

It's the same with anti-abortion laws, they go all shocked pikachu when their daughter dies because no doctors wanted to help them after she goes into sepsis from a miscarriage.

If I lose my job it’ll be because I told the new Secretary of the Interior that they don’t have sufficient security clearance for even the trivial stuff. And I’ll be right.

But by Jove it’ll be worth it.

P.S. Does Musk have security clearance, officially? I know the DoD has to bow to him because of Starlink and government contracts, and nothing stops Putin from talking to him…

Its done without prejudice. They can be refilled later. Its unlikely they would make any progress while Trump is president.

As John Oliver put it, Trump lies so frequently about so many thing that his followers feel free to pick and choose which lies they believe and which lies they think are just performative.

So. A religion. We've been calling it a cult for quite some time.

Goes hand in hand with the plan to deport millions of people. Stephen Miller probably already has a plan which crime to convict these people of, short step to whip out the 13th amendment. But on the bright side... nobody will get deported.

Here we go, Trump's tariffs plan is 25% tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports, and 35% on Chinese imports.

Get ready for 2k iphones, 1k for 20 inch tvs, and 10 dollars a pound for tomatoes, especially for off season tomatoes since they mostly come from Mexico.

Glad I got my Computer Upgrade shopping done last month, because I imagine the MSRP for chips and GPUs are about to get really stupid again.

Part of me wants to upgrade my PC but my RTX2080 still works just fine for me so far, especially given the costs of the newer cards and the fact I just can't motivate myself to play games much for the past few months.

Also been trying to research places I can hopefully move to eventually. Especially since I am on a fixed income from VA disability which will likely be MUCH less valuable in the near future and I doubt the annual cost of living increase will match what is about to happen to it.

I honestly probably didn't -need- an upgrade. I'd just been considering getting a shinier rig because I could afford it; but the threat of electronics prices skyrocketing again sort of forced my hand and pushed up what would've been a 'next year' plan into a 'now' plan just so I'd have some peace of mind.

Rocking a 5900x with 64GB DDR3600 and an RTX2080. So pretty good there. As far as storage, I am a bit overboard. 2 x 1TB SSDs, 1 18TB Seagate Exos, then got an external enclosure with 4 more of the 18TB drives and a 2TB SATA SSD. I'm a bit of a hoarder, lol. Does feel weird considering I still collect the old games but have zero desire to actually play anything nowadays.

My only reasonable explanation is that you can't pardon yourself for a crime that has been dismissed.

That's it. In all other options, Trump committed treason and wins. The end.
