Who says he is making inane campaign promises? This is his second term, he has no need to run for re-election, this is Trump unchained and doing what he originally wanted to do without the risk of losing the next election.

Pretty much. He what we had last time was Trump trying to restrain himself. And just think about that, THAT was Trump holding back his darkest impulses. He doesn't have to hold back near as much now.

Part of me still wonders if Trump did work out something with Johnson to try and get Johnson to force a recess in both houses and take it to the courts to get his recess appointments. Because he is trying to put in loyalists who would go along with all this stuff gladly (Or he thinks they will at least).

people forget that alot of the US manufacturing is assembling and when you make the base materials for the things your assembling more expensive you end up reducing the total manufacturing jobs even if you protect one industry like steel, george bush did heavy steel tariffs in 2002 and it partly contributed to the manufacturing slowdown that was later blamed on too much free trade.. im for tariffs on china but on national security grounds not trade grounds.. mexico makes little sense.. canada makes 0 sense.

It's a multi billion dollar industry and they buy I mean lobby a lot of politicians. The US has a lot of industries that provide no value but make billions a year and are protected by the government.

Banks love holding unstable debt. That way they get to keep a loaded gun to the head of the entire economy and force the government to give them bailouts when they fail epically because otherwise they would take literally everything with them if they were let to fall on their own. If they were going to collapse just a little bit, the government wouldn't have to come to the rescue.
