While I'm taking a bit of a leap in assuming he means "announcing the shut down and then planning for an orderly transition." and not "just pack your shit up and go home we're all remote now" as that would be a stupendously bad idea.

This is still a stupendously bad idea. I'm actually curious how much of this shit will fly with some Senate Republicans who actually give a shit about things. There aren't that many of them, but there are enough that if say, the nominee for the head of the FBI confirms his plans to functionally kneecap the FBI while pursuing political prosecutions (they probably won't care as much about this bit despite the whole investigation into this very thing by Jim Jordan and House Republicans, and this guy is openly talking about it!), they might decide to see who's on deck before green lighting an apparent unserious lunatic.

On trumps extreme threat then backing down tactic, he takes credit for things biden already did ( get mexico do to border enforcement for us ) but like dems should of done that, people, especially men respect show of strengths no matter how preformative, look at putins constant " red lines" on nuking the US he always shifts back from and yet all of maga still loves him. dems should of been like " IM GOING TO ARREST EVERY CEO THAT DOSENT REDUCE PRICES" they dont have to *actually* arrest them but just do something machismo to show you have a spine. problem with dems is their voters expect them to be serious people and enact their policies. looks fine in all public appearences, appears to just be a shadow. im all for trump health conspiracies since they did it with biden for 4 years though, as with my former point if dems played on Rs level we would be making up scandals everyday from shit like this

Patel is a MAGA combatant who has fiercely advocated Trump’s lie that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump and who has championed January 6 rioters as patriots and unfairly persecuted political prisoners. Patel is also a fervent promoter of conspiracy theories. At the end of Trump’s first presidency, when he was a Pentagon official, he spread the bonkers idea that Italian military satellites had been employed to turn Trump votes to Joe Biden votes in the 2020 election. And he has falsely claimed that the Trump-Russia scandal was a hoax cooked up by the FBI and so-called Deep State to sabotage Trump.

Moreover, Patel has been supportive of the most loony conspiracy theory in MAGA land: QAnon.

The QAnon theory, which arose in 2017, holds that an intelligence operative known only as Q has revealed through cryptic messages that a cabal of global, Satanic, cannibalistic elitists and pedophiles is operating a child sex trafficking operation as it vies for world domination and conspires against Trump. This evil band supposedly includes Democratic politicians, Hollywood celebrities, business tycoons, and other notables. Those who believe this bunk see Trump as a hero who is secretly battling this conspiracy in a titanic, behind-the-scenes struggle. It is pure nuttery. Worse than that, QAnon has sparked multiple acts of violence.
