Its not even that he is a loyalist. Trumps ag was a loyalist. Kash Patel feels open contempt for the institution that he is about to lead. Remember Jan 6? Donald Trump was stopped by the people that he appointed bc they respect the institutions. This new crop of appointees are open that they would have sided with him on Jan 6. Trump wants to destroy the guard rails, its up to all of us to make sure he doesnt

Kash Patel is an election denier conspiracy theory idiot. His nomination is another one in a long list of nominations where Trump prioritizes loyalty over meritocracy

You literally have him on record stating that he wants to go after the people in the media bc they said mean things abt Trump

They do not care about the country. Pure nepotism and loyalty

Where was your concern when Trump did it after the 2020 election?

I can't seem to find a single comment of yours for MONTHS, much less about his actions.

Weird. It's almost as if there was never any actual concern about it.

Loads of voters have this same contempt- often without understanding the first thing about those institutions to begin with, but that's part and parcel of populism. Trump made no secret that he would surround himself with a whole bunch of political arsonists who variously see said institutions as going against their personal or ideological objectives, or corrupt to the very core, or just as being in the way of them making money; sometimes it's a combination of all three, see Musk and his ridiculous main character syndrome.

And yes, there's loads of Republicans in general that would have sided with Trump on Jan 6th. Either because they think democracy as it is needs to fall, or (more commonly) that it's OK when their guy does it. Voters also swung this way, so this is what the American people chose. Their choice might be a terrible one but it remains what it is.

I sound blasé, but I'm also quite worried about that this bunch of apes will do. But the die is cast, the results are irrefutable, and now all there is to do is both hope that there are still a couple sane heads in Congress/the government to perhaps stop things from going too far, and/or that they're too incompetent to actually deal meaningful damage like during Trump's first term.

Kash Patel sounds like the name someone would give themselves who is an aspiring Indian rapper who came up from the hustling life of stealing money from old American women.

Did you see that Elon and that VC guy want to get rid of the CFPB?

And the reason they want to do that is bc they are invested in financial companies that openly predate on people. Their new branding is that CFPB debanks conservatives and that is why it needs to go. Literally dragging financial regulation into a cultural issue. Its a thinly veiled attempt at predating on the american people. Whatever. I kinda dont care now.

Musk is doing his best to make Cyberpunk (both the genre and setting) a reality so he can live his fantasy of being the boss of everything. None of the shit he pulls is at all surprising to me. He's a living, breathing conflict of interest even if his position is advisory, but voters don't care. Trump's entire cabinet is made up of at best sycophants, at worst ideologically compromised madmen and the voters don't care. Trump himself doesn't have anything resembling a plan for the nation's problems beyond tariffs and deportations and the voters don't care.

So why should they care? The voters have declared that, due to their groceries being 5 to 10% too expensive, it's now OK for this pack of bandits to pillage the nation and do their best to destroy its institutions. That's the tragedy of it, that this is no deception or grand conspiracy. Those people have made their intentions and lack of moral character extremely clear for years on end and the voters said, more please, this is what we want. Well OK then. Enjoy.

Work together, focus on the gang members and rescue kids from trafficking rings. Good on Mayor Adams for being cooperative.

It's absolutely on-brand that Republicans rally around Democratic mayor Eric Adams following the FBI charging him with bribery and campaign finance violations.

Incredibly on-brand. Thank you, @Somewhatconcerned, for once again reinforcing the stereotype!

I'll just note the intentional or unintentional vagueness of your posts leaves it open to the reader to interpret whether you're praising him for being charged with bribery and campaign finance violations, or something else.

Conservatives love indicted, charged, and convicted criminals in politics, it seems. While Democrats backed away from Adams in light of his apparent corruption, Republicans rushed in to embrace him firmly. But heterosexually, of course.

You support predators. You're on the side of rapists and child groomers.
