This is a blatant lie, and everyone knows it.

Whether or not Trump was actually going to appoint a prosecutor (he didn't for Clinton) isn't relevant. You don't appoint a special prosecutor to get "retribution through success". Trump knows he made the pledge (or, he's senile and/or retarded, that's not better) and he's lying about it.

So, you know the deal. @tehdang you directly support someone who not only said he'd use a special prosecutor to go after a poltiical rival, twice, now know he's lying about saying that. And you support him anyway.

You either support appointing special prosecutors going after political rivals, in which case, you should be upset that Trump is backing out of his promise and you should be upset that Trump lied to you about it.

Or, you don't, and you should be ashamed of yourself that you willingly supported someone who did.

I will assume the former, as a Trump supporter like yourself should be assumed to support Trump and Trump's policies he willingly announced in public, unless you specifically and directly say otherwise.

You, and your fellow Trump supporters, support dictatorship moves like the one Trump promised and got called out on.

I admit it, I have TDS. I dont know how else to process a sentence like "Donald Trump broke out his signature weave" Which is just cover for a delusional moron so out of touch with reality his brain shuts down over the word "grocery". I cant wrap my head around why this guy always gets a pass on everything.

There are 34 Republican women members in this House during this Congress, compared to 93 Democrats.
The continued lack of any real diversity in the GOP continues to seem like a feature rather than a bug.

Tim Scott and Byron Donalds are probably feeling it.

Diversity and inclusion is always important.

Unfortunately in the case of Republicans, from what I've seen the women republican representatives are equally as batshit crazy as the men. So shifting those numbers around really doesn't do much to balance anything out.

You're right, but I'd argue the real diversity the GOP needs to bring in is sanity, to balance their current monoculture of insanity.

Trump chooses Kimberly Guilfoyle as his pick for Greece ambassador
President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday named former Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle as his pick to be the US ambassador to Greece.

“For many years, Kimberly has been a close friend and ally. Her extensive experience and leadership in law, media, and politics along with her sharp intellect make her supremely qualified to represent the United States, and safeguard its interests abroad. Kimberly is perfectly suited to foster strong bilateral relations with Greece, advancing our interests on issues ranging from defense cooperation to trade and economic innovation,” Trump said in a Truth Social post.

Guilfoyle had been engaged to Donald Trump Jr. and is close to the Trump family.

Trump’s extraordinary selection of his daughters’ fathers-in-law for key posts underscores his reliance on family members

In a statement following the announcement, Guilfoyle said she was honored to accept the president-elect’s appointment.

“As ambassador, I look forward to delivering on the Trump agenda, supporting our Greek allies, and ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity,” Guilfoyle said on X.

Donald Trump Jr. also posted in support of Guilfoyle on X.

“I am so proud of Kimberly. She loves America and she always has wanted to serve the country as an Ambassador. She will be an amazing leader for America First,” he said.
    Sorry, Greece...

Another thing that annoys me about Donald Trump and all of the hype that is being built around the many things he is promising is the lack of follow up and oversight around his promises. Many if not all of the Trump promises have fallen flat.

The foxconn mega investment that was supposedly a result of the brilliant negotiation tactics which is about to bankrupt an entire town and has basically made the whole thing a white elephant

The border wall which at best resulted in renovations and new fencing.

And his remain in mexico policies which were overturned by a judge because they were clear violations of international agreements the US signed to.

Will DOGE lead to anything? Unlikely. We will get all the spectacle but nothing will come out of it. Not because there is no political will by the senate but because I suspect Trump and Musk will get bored out of it, hand the reigns to someone else and the next we hear about it, it will talk about how actually the federal government is financing alternative dancing styles with a total budget of 500k.

If by “evil” career diplomats you mean evil, no inverted commas necessary, bureaucrats in the security and intelligence services then yeah.

What nonsense are you on about? The vast majority of diplomatic staff are boring, normal, workday career bureaucrats. I will never understand where these nonsense notions that the government is filled with these conspiring, evil people who are getting underpaid to do very important work to serve their country comes from.
