No I know him and McConnell are the worst, I just think it's wishful thinking they won't let Trump do something that promotes the conservative way of things. They already gave the POTUS near unlimited power, I don't see why they'd not give him the ability to pardon state crimes.

Well, because when it comes to things like that, crimes not committed outside of a state cannot be tried by the federal government unless it involved a federal service or law of some kind like the Post Office. This is why he and his lawyers were trying to get it moved to a federal court so that he could then try to pardon himself if and when he won the election.

They would have to change what the term Jurisdiction means outright and that would cause a whole case of a can of worms to be opened here. Unless it involves interstate commerce or federal law of some sort, the US DoJ typically does not have jurisdiction to try any case.

In fact, unless it is a constitutional manner or involves a federal law, the US Supreme Court doesn't have jurisdiction in state level cases.

He has autonomy to whatever he thinks is in the best interest of the US thanks to that SCOTUS. He could literally have the prosecutor killed.

Well, good thing is, the case no longer needs a prosecutor. He has already been found guilty. The only thing left to do is to sentence him and that is postponed until after 2028 sometime in 2029. And even if the judge were to mysteriously disappear, it wouldn't matter. It would get handed off to another judge that would still do the sentencing.

So, as I said, the only thing that he has to do is try to get pardoned by the governor of NY. Which won't happen as far as I can tell.

He can have the judge killed and then install his replacement.

He (and the Senate) appoints federal judges, not state judges; the governor fills those positions.

    Of course...

...he could always just keep killing New York governors until one of them decided to do what he wanted, I guess.

The Gaetz Ethics Report shall be released.
Done by secret vote because Republicans are cowards.
Someone is big mad at this being released. BIG MAD I tell you.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...71785cf5&ei=11

Fuming GOP lawmaker issues threat over secret vote to release Gaetz ethics report

Appearing on CNN just moments after it was reported that the House Ethics Committee took a secret vote and agreed to release what is expecting a damaging report on ex-Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) a former colleague fumed and claimed he would push for any and all reports the committee has to be released.

Speaking with host Jim Acosta, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) was asked about the report and immediately labeled the bi-partisan committee a "clown show."

"Do you support that?" host Acosta pressed his guest.

"No, I don't," the Tennessee Republican replied. "I think Matt's out of Congress, and I'm going to push for the Ethics Committee to release all the findings they have on every congressmen, because if it's good for one, it's good for all of them."

"And, you know, congressional ethics to me, is kind of like a military intelligence –– it really just doesn't exist, you know," he continued before accusing, "This thing was leaked out by the Democrat chairman. They they're talking about bringing charges against her (sic) and this is it's a clown show. It's Congress 101, they're releasing it right now right before the big budget thing."

Pressed further, he replied, "This is just an investigation, it's not a court of law. It's in the past. It's you get one side of this thing and if they want to release it, release all of them. I think if it's good for the goose, it's good for the gander."

"Why are they hiding all the others? Why are they protecting powerful members, former powerful that are still powerful on this Capitol Hill?" he added. "And let's be honest to every one of these folks on the Republican side was was appointed by the former speaker [Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA)], which Matt and I both deposed –– or disposed of."
I mean, I absolutely agree they should release the dirty laundry of every member on Congress. I figure the Republicans will have FAR more issues than the Democrats.

I'm not even worried about Trump any more now, Trump just wanted to stay out of prison. He's going to spend the presidency eating cheeseburgers and golfing. The real threat now seems to be Elon, who seems to be MAGA's newest darling and will carry Trump's mantle after Trump can no longer run for more presidency terms. I get the feeling that Elon Musk is going to use his power and influence and incredible wealth dismantling what few protections our country has left from being permanently ruled by a few billionaires openly.

That's an interesting play in a timeline which now seems to be turning CEO-killers into public heroes.

Just to point out, the chairman is Michael Guest of Mississippi, a republican, cause the majority party always gets the chairmanship.
Guess it's pathological for republicans to blame the democrats.

Soo, Santa Trump went to bed listening to the Muskrat whisper sweet madness in his ear, and has apparently woke up and decided that what everybody needs for Christmas this year is a good old fashioned Government Shutdown!

Goddamned but I feel sorry for you guys. This shit reached peak insanity and has how started erecting rocket launch scaffolding on the mountain top........

    2) Why does he think this will work? Enough people know that the only ones threatening government shutdowns are the Republicans. The Republicans know it's the Republicans! Maybe not MAGA, but everyone else

I say we fast track every permit Elon applies for that makes him get to Mars sooner. Maybe he'll fuck off and be the Martians' problem.

It'll fuck up the current congress, castrating any plans to get anything done before the GoP officially takes over.
Trump doesn't have to legally be concerned about a third term and claims to love creating chaos. This would do that. He'll look good when Token (His best friend is African American!) points out all the money they saved the government by shutting it down.
Elon probably thinks he'll look good if when His Team takes control, his ability to instantly put out fires they fucking created will make Donald-Senpai notice him. With all the "Regulations" and "Taxes" being dangled as disappearing for him, he'll have even more moneys.
Then maybe. Just maybe, his father will love him.

Like, literally just google Trump Shutdown, news is bloody everywhere.

2: You expect me to know what the hell is going on in the nest of rabid squirrels that functions as his brain? God only knows what he's thinking.

    Best bet though?

It effectively cripples the government until Trump takes power in January, allowing him the pretense of sweeping in to save the day and posturing as the hero who saved the country from Democrat incompetence. He's literally willing to fuck the country over for a month so he can act out his delusions of saviourhood.....

I mean, who cares about all the relief money for hurricane victims, and hard hit farmers, and all that shit, gotta fucking burn the country down before being seen to possibly be willing to actually govern like responsible adults.

Seriously hope you people are stockpiling guillotines, cause you are probably going to need em before the next 4 years are over.
    ---------------------------------------------------------

Somewhat of an aside: Anyone else think there should be immediate government inquiry into how the office of DOGE functions and their fitness for performing their supposed task, if the person in charge of it is literally blasting out lies and false information under it's name on social media? Like, just straight up lying about what was involved in the funding bill? How the fuck is anyone supposed to trust anything coming out of this DOGE thing if they are willing to just bold faced lie about the things they are supposed to be investigating?

There was news a while back about Trump wanting to just confirm his own cabinet by having the Senate go into recess or something like that?
Could this be an insane concept to do something similar by having shutting down the government?
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

  17. #93877
I hope they shut down the government.

Itd be sad and bad but things need to have Trump and musks name on it. People completely forgot the mesd that was his first term

Elon Musk leads charge to kill spending bill meant to avert government shutdown

President Musk I mean Trump is leading the charge who knew that you could buy the US government for the low low price of 250 million dollars.

My fav thing about politics right now is something along the lines of:

I hate when billionaires like george soros pour millions of dollars into our politicians from the shadows.

    also

Elon Musk is OWNING THE LIBTARDS right now cry more!!!

if it were a video game it would be hilarious but real life its just sad.

It's because as far as we know, Elon isn't Jewish, and you know how Republicans love their antisemitism.
