They are going to tie those to future tax cuts so it HAS to pass. All this blabbing about clean bill and pork spending will be forgotten in a couple of months and we will get cries about how dare people oppose relief spending or how the tax cuts will make the economy grow so much!
If Trump wants to get rid of the debt ceiling, let them lol
This one of those short term political moves. The moment they loose power they will be begging for it tl comeback lol
"Law and Order", lots of places have had that, Russia, North Korea, Saddam's Iraq.
Laws can be made to enforce order of cruelty and brutality.
Equality and Justice, that is how you have peace and a society that benefits all.
"Republicans want to support our farmers, pay for disaster relief, and set our country up for success in 2025,” Trump and Vance said in a statement. “The only way to do that is with a temporary funding bill WITHOUT DEMOCRAT GIVEAWAYS combined with an increase in the debt ceiling. Anything else is a betrayal of our country. Republicans must GET SMART and TOUGH.”
The days of pork barreling spending bills with the minority party's priorities are OVER, and you can see who is big mad about it.
Actually amazing how people actively want their country to fail and suffer.
Could you list some of the spendings that needed to be cleaned up?
The $21 billion in disaster relief to farmers and $10 billion in economic aid?
Which primarily helps farmers in Florida, Texas, and Georgia.
Florida TaxWatch Highlights Alarming Decline Of State’s Citrus Industry
Texas’ citrus industry — once an agricultural powerhouse — is on the brink of disaster
How about year-round sales of gasoline with ethanol? a major win for the corn and soy farmers that have been asking for this for decades.
How about 8B for Francis Scott Key bridge? Why are we paying for that? Does not affect us in California. Baltimore can rebuild the bridge themselves.
Some conservatives even argue that the 100B disaster relief should be paid for by cutting funding in other areas. How would they feel if the cuts come from their state's funding share.
Then there is the pay raise for lawmakers. Which haven't received a raise since 2009. Although, in the greater scheme, that's actually pretty small.

“Do not lose time on daily trivialities. Do not dwell on petty detail. For all of these things melt away and drift apart within the obscure traffic of time. Live well and live broadly. You are alive and living now. Now is the envy of all of the dead.” ~ Emily3, World of Tomorrow
