Looking forward to gas/oil prices dropping. Typically when that happens, the price of goods/groceries follow a similar pattern. Oh we're never getting 2019 prices again, but I think we'll see a modest improvement.

Looking forward to DOGE exposing all the governmental waste. Yeah they have no actual legislative authority to do anything about it, but it will be all out in the open and the public pressure to do SOMETHING will be immense.

Looking forward to RFK Jr at least TRYING to get all the harmful stuff out of our food.

Irony is that the FDA was brought about by a Republican, one by the name of Teddy Roosevelt. A person who was hardcore about making sure the medication people took wouldn't hurt them unnecessarily. Was hardcore about making sure what people ate was safe to consume. The same person who basically broke up the major monopolies of the day. Also was the guy who took a shot to the chest and pretty much kept going.

Someone needs to define what "harmful stuff" they are talking about. Because until that is defined, you can consider salt harmful, or sugar harmful or anything else that, while in small doses the body needs, in higher doses can outright kill.

I think it's amusing that in their rush to falsely hail this last election as a "landslide" and pretend that Democrats are "destroyed for a generation", they conveniently ignore that the GoP lost ground in the House. They still have the majority, sure, but it's even smaller than it was last session.

The average gas price in 2017 was 2.53 which was up by 28 cents per gallon.
The average gas price in 2018 was 2.81 which was up by another 28 cents per gallon.
The average gas price in 2019 was 2.68 which was down from 2018, but still higher than 2017 and 2016.
Then, COVID happened.

Trump did not lower gas prices, he raised them. They went down year-to-year once and went up year-to-year by more twice.

Or how about the time he went to OPEC+ and wanted them to cut production because if they didn't, it would have meant massive job losses in the US because the price of oil was tanking at the time. You know, when the price of oil was below $20/barrel and oil producers had so much extra that they were paying people to take it off of their hands.

The price of gas will not drop much because of state level taxes on oil for the states that have them. And if the price of oil starts to tank, like it did at the start of COVID, they absolutely will not cut production initially until the US oil job market pretty much tanks as they learned from the last time not to trust Trump as he didn't cut production while they did.
