I think you're wrong. The media ignoring Trump's lunacy over the past 4 years, and treating him like a legitimate political figure instead of the incoherent narcissist at the head of a party with completely incoherent/nonexistent policy, is what contributed to the situation we're in now.

Grafting Canada onto the USA to try and solve your own inherent systemic failures is a pretty silly idea. Maybe just, like, fix your own broken shit?

The biggest reason there's strong resistance to the idea here in Canada is largely because the USA is an enormous, systemically incompetent mess, a system designed by blowhard idiots who had no idea what they were doing and who are revered to such an extent most Americans aren't even willing to acknowledge they were stupid and morally reprehensible people, by and large.
