“But this isn’t the end. I promise you, this is not the end, and we have to regroup and we have to continue to fight and continue to work day in and day out to create the better society for our children, for this world, for this country, that we know is possible.” ~~Jon Stewart

Why is everything being done, basically, in secret? I can almost buy Trump is scared of actually being shot this time after the massive amounts of protestors showed up, I definitely can't buy the weather excuse, but also canceling the live watch party? That doesn't quite track with assassination worries in my book.
It's not that, hotel bookings in DC are at an all time low for an inauguration even protesters aren't showing up only 1 protest license has been taken out and not many are slated to attend. His ego cannot handle a meager showing at his party again it's weird to me I would think Trump supporters would be giddy to show up.

A lot of protestors showed up. And apparently 200k supporters are supposed to be showing (not now, ofc), which I guess is a bit of a drop from what he claimed way back in 2016 lol
Far more likely some shady shit is going on, frankly. Just like how he has a chat with Xi, then releases a meme coin, and a whoooole of it gets bought via China.

I disagree with the headline for that one.
FAFO. 100%. I'm going to get roasted by the "hurr hurr don't blame the voters, BlAmE tHe DeMs FoR a BaD cAmPaInG" crowd, but the people that saw what Trump was saying and either:
1. Voted for him
2. Stayed home and decided they weren't participating
are both to blame for anything that happens. They were warned. Countless times. It's time they feel some pain because clearly it's the only way the average American is able to learn about anything. They had a choice between a shit sandwich and the best post Covid economy in the world and decided the shit sandwich was worth a shot.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news here but, as far as burying the lines go, it wouldn't work that way in the US. You would still need to get permits(some would be given, some wouldn't), you would then need to trench out the area which takes big machinery which would effective block off entire neighborhoods(quite a few older neighborhoods only have single entry/exit points) if you wanted to dig in the verge. Mind you not all cities have those patches of grass between the sidewalk and the street. The ones that don't, you would have to then dig up the sidewalk(which takes other permits and different contractors). Mind you, you also have to contend with, as someone else said, pissed off homeowners that may or may not be able to get to work now and, as far as I know, a lot do NOT get paid time off. And a lot of workplaces would not excuse that absence even though they should.
Also, you cannot just "pull the lines through" as it is generally solid ground below the streets once you get about 6 feet or so down. Most streets are about 1 - 2 feet deep between the initial street that was there(quite a few streets in the US were brick lined so a lot of the streets you see now are just built upon that), a couple of layers of asphalt and whatever else. Below that, you have to contend with main water lines that typically go down one or the other side of the street parallel to it(which the electric company will not want to come close to dealing with) and other lines or issues that around there.

This. I won't blame someone if they decided they didn't want either candidate and voted 3rd party. Is it a wasted vote in my eyes? Sure. But I will never blame someone for voting who they really wanted.
But those that stayed home(especially since nearly every single state literally has absentee voting for those who cannot get to the polls) and those who typically don't for the Republicans now voting for Trump, yeah. You will find out that, as that article says, he is extremely corrupt and has no issue taking bribes. I am waiting for when the Arab community that voted for him is all shocked and awed by the fact that not only will he not do anything about the war in Israel but help it get worse. Oh, there will be a ceasefire initially but the someone breaks it, he will only support Israel regardless if they are the ones who started. I am waiting on the longtime democrats, who also happen to be poor, that voted for him find out that now their welfare and other government handouts are now cut down or outright removed.
The first official word from the 45th President, via his press secretary, was to lie about what the competent parts of the government were officially and truthfully reporting. It pretty much foretold what the next four years would bring us.
Now his swearing in ceremony as the 47th is done in secret and in the security of the White House. He is beaten. He is afraid. He is even less of a man than he was last go around. This shows what we can expect from his last term. Timid, weak, scared and having to work through others while he hides like a "bunker bitch." I don't see it going any better this time around, but at least now we can openly see his weakness. He won't go touring around campaigning and wasting time like his first term. He'll sit on his ass in the oval office hiding while others do his bidding. No more prep rallies. No more visiting other countries. Just hiding and screaming into the void. I even doubt he'll go golfing as much as he did his first term.

Well, now we know the play with TikTok. Trump wants to turn it into yet another right wing propaganda tool.
