I'd be all for AI (with reservations about stealing creative works)... if we were having basic needs met and had universal basic income. As it is, all AI is going to do is demolish millions of jobs and put us into a depression because of it. These guys will say to our face that they're developing a tech to replace millions of human jobs and then have the audacity to tell us we need to have more babies.

I don't know that AI will do that. At least, not in the long run.

Why? Because AI isn't actually very good. On almost every level that it's being foisted upon the public in general it seems to be a solution looking for a problem.

A solution, mind you, that still requires oversight, can't be for anything too complicated or specific, and that you don't mind being wrong some considerable amount of the time that you have zero control over correcting for the future in any meaningful fashion.
