I have to admit, "I am cheering that my chosen leader wants to be seen as a criminal" is an interesting take for people who insisted he had absolute immunity and all investigations into his crimes were Deep State directed by the Biden Crime Family.

But then, it's impossible to follow Trump and remain consistent.

Columbia's President threatens US with 50% tariff.

See? Isn't it nice? Now Columbian companies will be paying for the flights too.

Nuclear's not a panacea, but you were still making up complete bullshit about how difficult or lengthy the process of building a nuclear plant is. You pulled nonsense figures out of your butt rather than using actual data.
    ????

The context in which Ive made my points and Draco Onis can back this up is that US regulations make building power plants in the US take a lot of time. I dont know the context in Canada, and I have never claimed to do. I only found it odd that you were trying to show off that Canada has not built a nuclear power plant in 40 years. Ok???

If the Canadian context doesnt need nuclear thats fine btw.

That sounds like admission they weren't before. So, why did you claim they did? If anything you should be saying "oh no, American countries in Columbia are paying more now because Columbia set tariffs". At least make pointing out your objective falsehoods challenging. You're like the Commander's defense.

Anyone in this country who still believes that the owner class will ever take a pay cut over fucking over workers/consumers, after seeing the results of nearly half a century of neoliberal economic policy, needs a goddamn brain transplant.

And those Columbian owned companies that operate in the US... they employ Americans.

So, when Tariff's raise the cost of importing a product...those companies will have two choices

    1) raise their prices to match... which means Americans are paying more for those products
    2) cut costs elsewhere. Which usually means Americans lose their jobs.

Fuck me, this is hard work.

Now walk me through how you think a Columbian tariff, paid in Columbia to the Columbian government, is going to pay for flights that the US are putting on? Take your time, I understand that crayons may be involved.

Trade wars with allies have historically only ever weakened the global standing of the country threatening the trade wars. In Trump's last term he put tariffs on China and got so absolutely bodied by China's counter-tariffs that he quietly worked out a deal to end both.

Based on public statements, Columbia just wanted them on civilian flights this whole time. Nothing about that has ever been contradicted. If Trump had just asked nicely, this never would have happened, and the US would have saved some money and bad PR.

I just went with you on that, see - problem solved! Now Columbians will be paying for those planes.

The tariff thing is annoying bc the point of tariffs as protectionist policy is that it literally makes foreign goods more expensive so that national goods can compete.

THE POINT OF TARIFFS IS TO RAISE PRICES. If they didnt you would be failing

Objective falsehood. Columbia has offered to fly them over. First, that offer hasn't been taken yet. Second, they did not offer to pay the US for the US military flights. It's a lot easier to score points when you stop moving the goalposts. In the end, what you have is your own admission Trump should have just asked in the first place instead of acting like a bully and being shamed on the world stage by a country best known for serving coffee.

    About equal, balances out.

What does not balance out is all those Colombian immigrants sending money to Columbia. It's not only tariffs.

I am sure in for the spectacle that will unfold, it will be a great case study. But I bet nothing will happen, Columbia already folded - they are just trying to save face a bit now.

That's good, Trump should accept. That would solve the problem and save $$, that's a win-win. See how solutions are always found with a bit of pressure?

I kind of feel this image is "more" Trump:

Nah, he's good. We'll keep sending military arms to eliminate the threat of people in an open topped box via overzealous application of said arms.
Kinda sad they need that much help.

It would not. Trump still sent them on unwanted US military flights and those are not being paid for. Also, it sure sounds like you're saying the Columbians fixed this by tariffs on their own people. Um, wasn't this a big Trump victory ages ago when the Columbians hadn't done that yet? If you're going to lie, at least be consistent. It's pretty clear even you don't believe what you're posting.
