If you are trying to argue that tariffs dont raise prices (americans paying the cost) then you are literally arguing against the policy. The point of the policy is to raise prices

Nazis being cruel?
I am utterly shocked, I tell you.
And that's just plain insulting to middle schoolers. Kids generally don't think about broader consequences and impacts, because they are kids.
Let's not give Nazis, who are well past adulthood and the point where they should have to take personal responsibility for everything they do, any excuse whatsoever to diminish their responsibility and culpability in all of this.

The problem is that Trump and his goons are a bunch of fucking idiots who don't understand the mechanism by which tariffs, when applied correctly, are beneficial to domestic manufacturing. Trump wants to do blanket tariffs, and is already trying to wield tariffs as a cudgel to bully other nations.
The US economy relies on importing both goods and materials that we do not have the capacity to source or manufacture domestically. Things that are vital to manufacturing, which will lead to inflation and shortages, and the consequences of that like layoffs and bankruptcies as businesses unable to foot the tariffs go under.
It's the same ignorant, theatrical, shortsighted kind of policy decisions happening with immigration that his dumbass followers think are going to improve their lives but which is just going to make everything more expensive and cause a ton of pointless suffering.

And a Trump supporter should respect and even applaud that. You didn't, that's hypocrisy on your part. Also, can't help but notice the military flights still haven't delivered. Nothing can change that. Why don't you just wait a day or two (as you claim) for this to actually be over before you make yet another wild claim about victory that contradicts the others? You suggested it wouldn't take long, and it would save you being publicly humiliated.

Have the Colombians said there was an agreement? If not, I wouldn't trust a word the current US regime says.
Did you know that coffee beans can't grow well in almost every part of the USA? The USA isn't going to create some huge at-scale operation of growing coffee beans domestically to rival Colombia, we're still going to import from Colombia, it's just going to be more expensive.
The last time the USA went into a trade war with close trading partners using tariffs, it hurt everyone but the robber barons who got richer, and was one of the things that ultimately led into the depression.
I get the idea of tariffs as protectionist policy but Trump's tariffs are not protectionist, they're punitive. The US has existing tariffs on very specific goods from other countries to ensure our domestic products are more competitive to our consumers. Trump wants a trade war and is using tariffs as a means to threaten other countries into compliance with his political theater and fascist policy. That's not protectionist, and people need to stop pretending it is.
“Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.”

They seem to think that just because Trump wants something that everyone on the planet needs to give it to him. It's almost like they're the person at the grocery store that thinks the parents of the screaming toddler should just give him that chocolate bar or they're bad parents.

The Columbian president also pointed out there are also almost 16,000 Americans living in Columbia without approved immigration status.
Punishing Colombia its so dumb. They are literally one of the most staunch pro american countries in South America. IG its 4 more years of this, until the next president has to rebuild that good will

Saw a claim that 70% of flowers sold in the US come from Colombia, just in time for valentine's day. Not that magats would buy flowers for their wives.
