But that group of tariffs is equvilent to being one of the largest tax increases in United States history. We just have to struggle through until the mid terms in 2026 maybe the house and senate will flip and make Orange Man a lame duck just shouting from his porch step like an old man yelling at clouds. But we are already seeing some push back from Congress and the Courts.

Pray the next two years doesn't escalate quickly.

Trump signed an executive order assigning blame for the aviation disaster on Biden and DEI and orders his ACTING FAA administrator to root out all Biden/DEI hires.

AFTER Trump already fired 3,000 FAA air traffic controllers for DEI.

Watching the video of the blackhawk flying into the path of the passenger airliner, part of me is starting to wonder if these disasters are going to continue happening so Trump has an excuse to exercise authority to do what he wants.

But also, internally the FAA is struggling, one person dropped this tweet 12 hours before the crash happened.

We are looking at possibly another pandemic on US soil, there's a tuberculosis outbreak in Kansas, bird flu has broken the human barrier and is out of control but the CDC has a stop order in place so no one is managing or monitoring on this. We are looking at diseases like polio, measles making a comeback under this anti vaxx administration. There are tons of public land that are going to be drilled for oil, the list of shit that can't be undone is so long. The oligarch are going to fuck this country so hard we won't know left from right. That's not even counting the trillions they are going to steal from the treasury on top of their 4 trillion dollar welfare check tax cut.

This is a Russia after the collapse situation and I don't see the democratic party rising up and countering anything they are going to be bought with the looted money just like republicans. There's a reason they have been so fucking pathetic so far, Obama blew republicans away and they stood strong while democrats have just given up.

They always meant "you need to listen to us and do what we say."

Silver lining, Trump headlines being dominated by very obvious and public fuck-ups while his administration actually accomplishes very little seems to have silenced our resident Trump shills rather quickly.

I think they all have me blocked, not a single one has directly addressed anything I've asked them since Trump's last presidency. Needless to say I wasn't around these forums very often the last 4 years because I moved away from WoW a long time ago, and the only reason I was here was this politics forum. With 4 years of normalcy I had no reason to really be here. But with Trump dismantling the country it's time to hold their feet to the fire once more even if they don't see me.

I don't know how many of them are still around from Trump's last presidency; most of them from that long ago got perma'd or shuffled off into obscurity.

And Trump boot lickers, the newest crop included, aren't exactly known for responding to people. They usually just sort of drive-by-shitpost, get dogpiled, and then sod off until the next bit of nonsense.

Like I said though, with Trump catching so many baffling L's maybe they'll be relatively subdued. They don't understand why Trump is doing what he's doing, so unless there's some knee-jerk take they can try and do to make Trump look strong they lack the capacity to articulate his 5D chess moves.

So on the subject of Air Traffic Controllers, one slightly major airport had their entire staff of them walk out. Why you may ask? Well, because Trump is trying to basically change their contract without any input from the controllers and make it pay less. So, they refuse to work. And without any air traffic controllers, an airport cannot let any aircraft leave or land.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/new...adbfde6c&ei=10

'Puts us in limbo': All air traffic controllers resign at 'hugely important' airport

One California airport is now without any air traffic controllers, and it's unclear when the airport will be able to replace them.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported Thursday that beginning this weekend, the San Carlos Airport, which lies along the final approach to San Francisco International Airport (SFO), will no longer have anyone manning its control tower. The resignations came after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reassigned controllers' contracts to a firm that pays less.

Airport manager Gretchen Kelly said "understandably, all current controllers have declined [the firm's new] offers." The proposed compensation packages for air traffic controllers reportedly did not account for the Bay Area having the highest cost of living in the nation, which is roughly 18% higher than the national average. The region has had the highest cost of living in the U.S. for six consecutive years, with the San Jose and Napa areas close behind.

San Carlos Flight Center owner Alessandro Franco said air traffic control at the airport is "hugely important" due to its proximity to SFO and its typically busy airspace. Aircraft approaching the San Carlos Airport alternates between communicating with air traffic controllers at San Carlos and those at SFO. Now, he's worried the resignation of controllers will mean there is "another layer of safety that’s not going to be present."

"We’re a mile or two off the final approaches to SFO — it’s a complex space," Franco told the Chronicle. "This is a situation that puts us in limbo next to these busy airports."

Kelly has asked the FAA for additional staffing help for the San Carlos control tower, but her request was refused. Other airports in California are dealing with chronic shortages of air traffic controllers, which has become a worsening problem over the years. The Chico Airport, which the Chronicle noted was a "hub" for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, now has just one controller.

The resignation of the San Carlos air traffic controllers comes on the heels of a deadly crash at the Washington D.C. National Airport involving an American Airlines regional jet and a Black Hawk U.S. Army helicopter, with 67 presumed dead from the incident. Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), who used to pilot Black Hawk helicopters as a combat veteran in Iraq, said that letters President Donald Trump's administration sent to federal workers this week asking them to quit their jobs could be partially to blame for the crash.

So I wonder if Trump will go hide again away from reporters because people are starting to ask him the hard questions and start calling him out on his bullshit like what happened during his first term. Because remember, he went for almost a whole year without doing any daily briefing or interview because of basically him trying to do this stuff he did the first time. We all know he is a coward. Lets see if he acts like one again.

'That's Not a Very Smart Question': A Defiant Trump Insults Reporters Who Grilled Him for Baselessly Blaming Obama, DEI, and Biden for D.C. Air Crash, Claims He Has 'Common Sense'

Instead of encouraging the public to wait for all the facts before jumping to conclusions about what led to the mid-air collision between a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter and an American Airlines flight, President Donald Trump offered an array of baseless, conflicting theories during a Thursday morning news conference that left many in the White House briefing room stunned by his recklessness.

While the emergency rescue efforts continue in the icy Potomoc River, it appears unlikely that any of the 64 passengers on the flight, or the three soldiers on the helicopter, survived, according to Wall Street Journal.

After suggesting the blame lay with the helicopter pilot — “The people in the helicopter should’ve seen where they were going,” he said, repeating a claim he made on social media hours after the crash — Trump contradicted that theory by implying an unqualified air traffic controller was at fault.

“The initiative is part of the FAA diversity and inclusion hiring plan,” he said, referring to the agency’s initiatives for hiring air traffic controllers. “Think of that. The initiative is part of the FAA diversity and inclusion hiring plan.”

“A group within the FAA determined the workforce was too white,” Trump continued. “They actually came out with a directive saying it’s too white.”

Trump falsely claimed the initiative originated under President Joe Biden and his transportation secretary, Pete Buttigieg. NBC’s Peter Alexander informed the president that the policy dates back to 2013.

“It was there for the entirety of your administration, too,” Alexander said. “So my question is, why didn’t you change the policy during your first administration?”

Trump falsely claimed he had implemented the change, attacking the reporter’s credibility. He also lashed out at CNN’s Kaitlan Collins when she asked if he was “getting ahead” of the investigation, calling her question “not very smart.”

Reporters continued to press the president, with journalist Mary Bruce asking if he felt the crash was somehow caused by diversity hiring.

“What evidence do you have to support those claims?” Bruce continued.

“It just could have been,” Trump replied. “We have a high standard. We’ve had a higher, much higher standard than anybody else. And there are things where you have to go by brainpower, you have to go by psychological quality and psychological quality is a very important element of it. These are various very powerful tests that we put to use, and they were terminated by Biden. And Biden went by a standard that’s the exact opposite.”

He then admitted, “So we don’t know.”

After repeating his assertion that the helicopter pilot should’ve seen the plane coming, he pivoted back to his new favorite boogeyman: Diversity, equity and inclusion.

“But certainly for an air traffic controller, we want the brightest, the smartest, the sharpest,” he said. “We want somebody that’s psychologically superior, and that’s what we’re going to have.”

Another, unidentified reporter followed up by asking the president how, if he didn’t think the air traffic controllers were at fault, “you could come to the conclusion that diversity had something to do with the crash?”

“Because I have common sense, OK?” Trump replied. “And, unfortunately, a lot of people don’t. “

CNN aviation correspondent Pete Muntean called the president’s remarks “unprofessional, unpresidential, inconsiderate of the status of this investigation, but frankly … unhinged that he could even say with any sort of certainty that diversity, equity and inclusion policies had any part to play in this accident.”
Maybe he'll go hid in the White House bunker like he did during his first term when people protested outside of the White House.

So, in a move basically screwing over unions and pretty much every worker under the sun in the US, Trump fired National Labor Relations Board acting chair Gwynne Wilcox. With that, the NLRB cannot actually do anything because they are required to have 3 members and only have 2 now.

    Let that sink in.

The NLRB handles investigations into workplace problem like illegal firings, illegal work rules and the like. And without the NLRB, you cannot form a union as an official union requires their involvement to hold an election. Let that sink in. Unions cannot be formed without them. They will not be officially recognized as a legit union.

See, the Germans at least had a halfway excuse. Not that Nazis were good in any way, but Germany lost a world war, was internationally disgraced, had their country carved up and divided, their currency became worthless, they faced rampant poverty and bread lines, among many many other things. They at least faced what could only be described as a catastrophe.

What's MAGA's excuse for the concentration camps and sky rocketing grocery prices by their own actions? They couldn't discriminate against gay people and hispanics? They couldn't say the N word without getting punched? Fucking snowflakes.

Oh no, the union workers that voted for Donald might realize it was a really stupid idea. Probably not, but this is going to fuck regular Americans.

I've notice none of our resident conservatives have come to cheerlead these recent developments. Curiouser and curiouser.

There's going to be a manpower crisis. Have you seen the government employee buyout?

Trump ordered all government employees to return to office. Well a) a lot of the jobs do not require a central office. offices do not exist because they werent necessary, people have moved out everyday communte range, etc. The employees can't return or it will increase costs/reduce efficiency if they do. b) the memo that was released written in such a way that you probably want to take the offer for your own financial security and piece of mind. The vague plan outlined in the memo sounds like hell. Exactly what you would expect if a large firm bought out a small one and is liquidating everything. Everyone who stays id just going to be doing the dismantling.

But on top of the perceived exodus, a swift one so there will be a brain drain, people ( well people who know what they are doing or are trainable) won't be rushing to fill the spots. No fucking way. We saw a little bit of that during Trump's first term but it's going to be a lot worse.

Oh of those who do remain their bosses, the Trump appointees, they are going to be idiots. Anyone remember when Project 2025 documents leaked? Most of it was just telling appointees (not the big secretaries but lower level department heads) how to work with other people. These people couldn't manage manage a lemonade stand but we're about to have a bunch nepobabies and friends who are owed favors by Trump appointed to a bunch of department heads and management positions, the real diversity hires. They are going to be awful and the people who would others be their to clean up their messes are leaving the public sector. The fed is about to get real shitty.

I'll link the story about the buyout.

    https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trum...y?id=118200352

In the link you'll see it's basically emulating what Musk did to Twitter. We all know how well that worked out...

Economically we're probably going to get our asses kicked too. Countries are already talking about growing closer to China. These billionaires running the country do not know how to play the game China plays. They are going let China push right past the US as they are only concerned with "fuck you i got mine" profit margins.
