Republican candidate Scott Taylor and his campaign, who helped Brown gather signatures in the hopes of hurting his Democratic opponent.

Relevant bit, as the campaign now has a special prosecutor looking into Taylor's staff to see if they violated the law. The corruption and rot within the GOP continues to be shown the light of day, maybe Trump really is unintentionally doing something about the swamp by bringing out all the once-hidden swamp creatures to light as they're emboldened by his own corruption.
This is hilarious to me, especially the part about dead people being on the list of signatures. My Uncle has posted pictures of graveyards before with captions saying things like the next Democrat voter registration has started, but now it turns out that it's the Republicans that are actually pulling this shit. It's like 2016 was the projection election.

Holycrap! You mean the Republican candidate was fixing it so that an indipendent would run against the Democrat, with forged signatures to back them up!? o_O

Yeah, it's pretty amazing how hypocritical the GOP is. I've been saying for a while now that it wouldn't surprise me we find out that Mike Pence and his Wife have been running a Gay Prostitute ring from his house.

Well, there's always a huge uptick in activity on LGBT hookup apps/with LGBT escorts/sex workers during the Republican convention every year so...

I have friends who have been doing sex works for years, including gay and trans ones, and they've outright said that rich old white married dudes are typically the most regular clients and want the weirdest shit done. The irony was never lost on me.

Oh no he doesn't go to the graveyards himself, it's pictures he finds on the internet with the captions already on them, he just reposts them on his Facebook.

Here's a link that has some examples of what I'm talking about.

Not that it probably matters, but it's apparently pretty likely that Kavanaugh perjured himself during testimony related to the theft of Democratic documents during his days in the Bush administration.

He's done it a couple times now which is why I'm glad the Dems have started pushing the issue. They know they can't stop him, but they can start to build their case for possible impeachment or justification for packing the court at a later time.

Honestly, I have always despised the duplicity and dishonesty of the GOP. But the folks you see agreeing to this shit on TV are just that: good TV viewing. I don't think the average Republican is actually in favor of the pussy grabber nor any of his other bullshit. Alas, their party is in decline because of its inherent corruption so they backed the most obnoxious candidate in the history of U.S. politics because he motivated the extreme right to actually vote instead of just mope around in their white supremacist HQs.

The Dems have similar problems having almost lost the thread because of centrist and neoliberal, blue dog bullshit. I'm not actually a democrat myself, but if I were I'd be a yellow dog type - absolutely on the left. The Dems must learn that nobody votes for the "lite" version of the competition, Dems must actually represent an opposing viewpoint or people will vote for the candidate with actual policy convictions. Dems can't be the appeasers, they must take a stand on the issues. And FFS, the Dems must certainly never say the name "Clinton" ever again. Stop trying to float that Chelsea Clinton test balloon - it will sink like a lead zeppelin.

    Edited: strange typo...

I notice at the bottom as he states he has 6 more emails that proves he lied but they are labelled Committee Confidential which prevents him from using them publicly even though they have no reason why they should be labelled as such.

Like they are trying to prevent it from coming out so they can intentionally put a corrupt person in that seat.

If the GOP gets their way on this I foresee a blue motherfucking tidal wave in the midterms. If they lose, the GOP still looks bad for the plainly deceitful manner they've played this whole thing - starting with denying Obama his turn. They really should just have offered up a moderate conservative, that's a pure win.

The GOP is so busy shitting on both the rule of law and the rules of order. But what can one expect from people that use anti-government rhetoric, respect for the rules? That's for chumps and nerds...

Giulliani demands Woodward release the tapes of people talking about him.

Just a reminder: Giulliani has no government office. He could file something in court, but, good luck with that. I don't think a court is going to force the tapes (thereby, the identities) of confidential sources just because Giullani needs his diaper changed.

"Why would you say -- "

Giuliani earlier in the day denied a passage from Woodward's book in which Trump was quoted as calling him "a little baby that needed to be changed."
    "Oh."

Team Trump has found themselves in the hilarious position in which one of three things are true:

    1) Reporting icon Woodward is lying about the White House in a massive scale, on purpose, to make money. In other words, Woodward is committing massive slander and/or libel. I find this insurmountably hard to believe, but naturally, this is what Team Trump is going for.

    2) Woodward is telling the truth, but was duped by hundreds of hours of interviews which were lies. Not only do I find this hard to believe, but even if it's true, it means the White House is full of people Trump hired, who are willing to go on tape saying Team Trump is loaded with backstabbing senile incompetent idiots -- and are willing to make shit up to cause that to happen. That's grand-scale sabotage by people Trump hired. Only the best people, eh comrade?

    3) Woodward is telling the truth, and so are his sources.

While Team Trump is pushing hard for #1 to be the case, I'm looking at #3 edging out #2. Anyone else with a shred of logic want to weigh in? @Bullettime @Skroe @Edge- @Endus @PACOX and so on? All hands on deck here, this is too good to pass up.

Its absolutely #3. Just wait until names get attached to people once the book actually comes out. You don't win 2 Pulitzers by being a moron and falling for bullshit.

Now there's reporting that the WH is looking to replace Mattis.

A few things I hope for,

    1) I hope for the Democrats to take back the stuff and call them on their crap and start holding them to their own standard forcing them to deal with their own stuff being used against them and...

    2) If it does, I hope to see all the Trump/GOP supporters I have seen making excuses to hand wave this and support it losing their minds when it is done back to them just to show them in their own history how they supported it under the GOP with Trump and telling them they either should support it when both sides doe it or not support it when either side does it, to do otherwise is hypocritical. But even then, most will be too dense to see the hypocrisy and watching Fox news trying to feed them lies to make it sound like it isn't the same.

It's almost got to be #3. At this point, I'm just waiting for Woodward to release the tapes. At worst, he's trying to edit them down to conceal the identities of his sources. Confronting "I didn't say that" with an audio clip of you saying that is pretty darned clear.

I just can't see a world where Woodward would throw out his decades of ethical and responsible investigative journalism to make up a bunch of shit just to sell a few books in the weeks before his lies are discredited. He'd be flushing his career down the toilet and destroying his own legacy for quick cash, and there's no reason to do so.

The idea that Woodward would be doing this for partisan reasons is just . . . nonsense. He's freely attacked Democrats in the past in similar (if less outrageous) books. This isn't someone with any history of partisan bias.

If you want people to believe he's lying or he's biased or whatever, Woodward's entire career stands as a character witness against you. You'll have to provide actual fucking evidence for anyone reasonable to believe you over Woodward.

That's Trump, not only going full on passive (pretending he has no effect on if the govt shuts down or not) then a comma, then saying he's ready to shut down the government.

    "I'm willing to do anything."

Yeah, and then you're willing to have Cohen pay anything afterwards.

Nah, it is a combination of #2 and #3. Woodward is telling the truth, but most of his sources are lying pieces of shit. That doesn't mean they fooled Woodward though, because his overall assessment seems to be perfectly on point, just that when you interview liars you get lies. Keep in mind, this is the 8 consecutive president that has had to face down a Bob Woodward book, none of them liked it. He is extremely good at getting to the root of what the climate is, and hanging it all out in the open.

NBC News reports that the Trump administration did an investigation as to how much of a security threat refugees posed.

When the result was "not much of one at all" they scrapped it and tried to hide it.

At a meeting in September 2017 with senior officials discussing refugee admissions, a representative from the National Counterterrorism Center came ready to present a report that analyzed the possible risks presented by refugees entering the country.

But before he could discuss the report, Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand dismissed the report, saying her boss, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, would not be guided by its findings.

"We read that. The Attorney General doesn't agree with the conclusions of that report," she said, according to two officials familiar with the meeting, including one who was in the room at the time.

Brand's blunt veto of the intelligence assessment shocked career civil servants at the interagency meeting, which seemed to expose a bid to supplant facts and expertise with an ideological agenda. Her response also amounted to a rejection of her own department's view, as the FBI, part of the Justice Department, had contributed to the assessment.
It's going to be hard to dispute such a claim. There's plenty of evidence of Team Trump deciding to go with feelings over facts, especially when those facts involve brown people.

Well, time to let Trump's rabid fanbase bring out the definition of "Treason" they're so fond of using to defend Trump working with Russia. I'm pretty sure it will defend a White House staffer talking to an American author.
