"The release of Fogel was not a prisoner exchange!" Rubio tells FOX News *ding* "He was released because Trump is strong!"

"Yes it was," Kremlin responds, "it was a prisoner exchange for a fraudster who laundered millions of dollars. Here is his name."

FOX News has not yet updated their story. As a reminder, Fogel was arrested for having medical pot. Not for defrauding millions of dollars. "Strong" Trump exchanged a Trump-level fraud for a misdemeanor.

"But he was a political prisoner! That changes things!"

Trump believes all people charged with crimes is political. That argument holds no weight when discussing Trump. Pick something else.

Jesus fucking Christ. This, plus Hegseth's comments on Ukraine today, along with Trump getting Putin to visit the US... yeah, totally in-line with NATO allies and not at all bending over for Russia.

I'm old enough to remember when Marco Rubio was a rising star with a presidential nomination in sight until he got a bit of dry mouth and had to take a sip of water.

Now homeslice is lying on behalf of his president, baby.

F in chat for the Five Eyes and our other intelligence agreements. I can't imagine our allies being keen to share their intelligence knowing that it's liable to end up being fed directly to Putin and others.

I hope they don't, honestly. More and more I think allies will be looking in directions other than the US. Especially after today.

After a mob of Donald Trump's supporters violently stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, Emil Bove led efforts by federal prosecutors in Manhattan to help the FBI aggressively investigate, identify and arrest rioters from the New York region.

Four years later, Bove is now the acting No. 2 official in President Trump's Justice Department. He has used that perch to denounce the Capitol riot investigation and spearhead a purge of prosecutors — and potentially of FBI agents — who worked on Jan. 6 cases.

The disconnect between Bove's aggressive stance to hold rioters accountable for the Jan. 6 assault and his current hostility around the investigation has troubled some former colleagues.
I remember some pro-Donald folks weirdly talking about Donald moving forward and being optimistic that he wouldn't spend his administration pursuing revenge for things that happened in the past.

As if Donald isn't famous for holding a 40-year grudge over a single insult over his small, child-like hands.

Anyways, just a reminder that it seems everyone one of Donald's supporters and "I didn't vote for him but the people did so he's not actually doing that much bad stuff you see because if you just ignore all context..." not-supporters seems to exist in an alternate reality built upon lies.

Considering Trump is actively gutting the FBI and the CIA to the silence of republicans that ship has pretty much sailed.

Job growth? In about 2 months we are going to hit 10% plus unemployment. They will wait until the special elections are over with then just ignore the court orders and cut basically anything that doesn't serve Elon and his group. At this point the absolute best anyone can hope for is a devastating recession more likely is another great depression and an attempt to establish a dictatorship at which point whether the military follows unlawful orders or not will become center stage. We already have a bloody concentration camp at gitmo.

Stagflation aka the worst nightmare of economists, bankers and countries. It's the equivalent of putting your country between a rock and a hard place.

Supposedly they will meet both in Russia and in the US.

(Trump posted about it on his own social media)

But first, as we both agreed, we want to stop the millions of deaths taking place in the War with Russia/Ukraine.
-- Trump, discussing his meeting with Putin

    "How many millions?"

Not to diminish the tragedy that this war is, one started by Putin let me add, based on trustworthy sources which does not include the Trump WH, about half of one million.

Still many unnecesary deaths. Not millions plural. Trump is lying so that, when he announces his plan to end the war is to let Russia win, it sounds like he made a good deal.

Yes, it wasn't in the first 24 hours of taking office, but it appears that this entire ordeal will soon come to an end.

And when egg prices stabilize....then what?

1> Trump doesn't get a single solitary say in when the war in Ukraine ends. The USA is not a participant in that war to begin with, let alone representative of one side of that war. He may as well be saying he's going to raise taxes in China.

2> Admitting you only care about Ukraine and egg prices is a bit of a self-own.

How so? Normally when you negotiate peace between two conflicting countries they're BOTH in the negotiations.

This is Trump making up some bullshit plan that Putin will like and will be forced onto Ukraine. And if Ukraine doesn't take it Trump will let them suffer. That is not peace, that's extortion.

Since you have selective amnesia his promise was to bring the prices of groceries down especially eggs. The issue isn't them stabilizing but where that price will be since its due to go up an additional 20% or so.

Really? Lets ask the parties actually involved....

Earlier on Wednesday, Trump's Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, said a return to Ukraine's pre-2014 borders was unrealistic and the US administration did not see NATO membership for Kyiv as part of a solution to the war.

It comes after Volodymyr Zelensky said earlier that Putin is not preparing for peace and continues to slaughter Ukrainians despite talk of a ceasefire.
    And in stark contrast you have;

‘Probably essential’ Ukraine joins Nato, Nigel Farage says
Nigel Farage has said it is “probably essential” for Ukraine to join Nato as part of the settlement of the ongoing war.

The Reform UK leader highlighted that he has long believed Nato and the EU’s eastward expansion was to blame for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He was criticised during the general election campaign for claiming the West “provoked” Russia into launching the deadly war.

    via The Independent
My whole political stance pretty much boils down to "I care about other people and the planet" and wow does that make some people mad.
