There are a very significant portion of MAGAts that are not religious at all. In fact the bible belt like are only a small portion of his rise to power imo. Even with things like abortion that isn't because of religion, Trump and a lot of others who think like him simply want it banned to infinitely create worker bees to keep the capitalist machine going without needing immigrants(cause like hell do they want more people of color coming into the country).

As an indication of just how far and fast the US's stocks in the world have fallen, you just have to look to comments from Germany recently.

You have the former German ambassador to the UK saying that the US has allied itself with the 'evil empire (russia.)

And you have the newly elected conservative Chancellor of Germany saying the US can no longer be relied upon, that Europe may need to forget NATO and forge its own security without US, and that given there is no guarantee that the US would help out in the event of russia launching nukes, that there needs to be talks with France and the Uk about nuclear security for Europe.

Once a conservative German leader would have been seen as a good thing by the republicans but give they have thrown in their lot with the far-right, the CDU is now not right enough for the US. So now there is the situation of russia covertly supporting the far-right across Europe and the US overtly supporting them.

Gonna be a long road for me since I haven't seen you do 1 accurately on me as of yet.

I've done many, including saying that Republicans were going to do Project 2025 and many shouted me down for it. When everyone was in high spirits about Harris performing well in the polls and her numbers looking solid, I was raising alarm bells about not only Harris's weird shift to the right and focusing on border security, as well as potential election threats. I was called a doomposter and was told to stop doomposting because everything was going to be fine. You haven't even been in the politics that forum long unless you've been lurking.

And now I'm told I'm doomposting for saying that Trump may very well refuse to leave office.

You and others keep claiming that Trump is going to do something that, for all intents and purposes, doesn't have anything to do with the Federal Government. That is the thing I am bringing up.

Trump can claim he is the King whatever, still doesn't make him one. Trump can claim votes are invalid, still doesn't make it true and unless he uses force as in militarily, he won't get his way(if they even go along with it). If California decides that Trump is basically going to war with them, we are no longer a country. His position is no longer valid. Which means everything he says or does is also invalid and isn't to be listen to in any way.

The US Constitution is what makes the Executive Branch, Congress and SCOTUS along with the lower federal courts a thing. The moment he decides to say the federal government has final say in elections and some of the states tell him to go fuck off and the will of the people of those states will decide what the elections say, and if he decides to send in the military to enforce said thing he declared, is the moment the US devolves into civil war. And yes, California, New York, Illinois, Maine and other states have already stood up to him in one way or another.

I will say stop with the doomerism because that is what Trump, Musk and the rest of them want. I am going to fight back any way I can which is what everyone should do instead of going "Oh my god! It is all over.".

Trump is removing all of the top brass in the military and replacing them with loyalists. He's gutting every government agency that's getting in his way. GO READ PROJECT 2025 FOR FUCKS SAKE, don't just say you know what's in it and keep blissfully continuing on. Their plans for a complete take over are all in there, and full control of the federal government along with ending federal elections and securing enduring power is in there. And they're already going in and doing Project 2025 item by item.

It has nothing to do with rules. That is why it makes no sense to keep saying "Trump isn't going to play by the rules". THERE ARE NO RULES FOR HIM TO BREAK HERE AS HE ISN'T PART OF THE GAME IN THE FIRST PLACE. It would be like him watching a basketball game and then trying to get a result changed because he didn't like the results. All he is, is a bystander in this process in this.

If he were going to decide to cancel elections, HE WOULD HAVE ALREADY TRIED IT AS THERE ARE ELECTIONS GOING ON RIGHT NOW. There are 2 special elections in Florida that are going on right now for US House seats. The vote takes place in April. There are 7 state legislature elections going on in November of this year. Once again, nothing about cancelling them.

Because the Federal Government has nothing to do with them.

Seems you missed the part of project 2025 where they plan to take power away from the house to give it to the executive. Or did you not read Project 2025 like it seems you didn't? House elections won't matter to him for one thing, and for another you saying "He would have tried already" is very wrong, they're still on the steps that involve removing everyone and gutting everything, and they're now starting on the steps of installing loyalists. When the entire federal government is all yes-men for Trump, that's when the rest starts happening.

Again, this is all stuff they said they'd do, or laid out in P2025, can't cancel or ignore elections when there are still people in power who are willing to enforce the laws, which is why the fed is being gutted as we speak.

This isn't doomerism, this is me saying Democrats or some sort of left wing coalition needs to step up and STOP the ongoing process of dismantling our government, because the longer it goes on unopposed (and court cases are not opposition) the harder it will be in the end.

The only people saying Trump wasn’t going to try and enact project 2025 were republicans, trying to deflect from the obvious evangelical tint of the election, either because they hoped it wouldn’t happen or because they secretly did but didn’t want to advertise about it. But no democrat or progressive was out here saying “oh don’t worry, Trump wouldn’t do this, because that would be wrong…” anyone paying attention knows better than that. So that’s no grand “revelation.”

The only people really pushing Harris were ones who liked her chances better than Biden’s, and the only real prescient thought anyone could have had regarding Harris’ chances would have been that she wasn’t adequately addressing the economy. Tens of thousands we wish according to government data Trump will end up firing 250K employees who are probationary workers. Unfortunately the term probationary is false because if you get a promotion you end up with that status so the department of government embezzlement (DOGE) is firing people with decades of experience as well. There are red state republicans in sheer panic begging Trump to stop president Musk from bankrupting their state due to firings since the federal government is the biggest employer in their state.

This year is looking bad. This is a non-comprehensive list of agencies to receive funding and workforce cuts.

NIH & NSF – scientific and medical research.
HUD – affordable housing, homelessness and disaster recovery. It is confirmed that there will be a 50% workforce cut by May. As much as 80% in the homeless division.
FEMA – disaster response.
US Forest Service – wildland fire fighting and National Park Service.
EPA – self-explanatory.
CDC – health and infectious diseases
USDIA – in addition to foreign aid, the agency is also responsible for dozens of infectious diseases clinical studies. All these studies are now halted.
FDIC – banking and financial.
CFPB – consumer protection and fraud prevention.
FDA – foods, medicine and medical devices for both human and livestock.

All these cuts will lead to a chain reaction. NIH and NSF cuts will lead to staff cuts at research universities. HUD cuts will lead to lay off in the affordable housing construction sector and homeless assistance programs.
