    i'm here for the drag queen future, personally. weird to see a republican being open about their interest in drag queens/trans folks, since they're usually pretty closeted about that thing and overtly bigoted instead

    Trump was asked specifically about the EU responding.

    They can't. I mean, they can try, but they can't.
    That was his exact answer. No, really.

    I think you will learn that when the poor MAGA that rely on aid find out that their aid was scrapped so the rich could get tax cuts, they might not vote republican again.

    didn't you know the 2020 red tsunami wiped democrats off the map and they never held office again?

    "Don't need to invest in a conspiracy theory" while unironically saying that the Republicans are putting themselves in a great spot by following a less-than-1% victory with a long string of proposals that are making a lot of people in every group, including their own, go "uh, wait, no, this is bad."

    So, I see the House GOP passed a concept of a budget, otherwise known as a budget resolution. Yes, it is a concept of a budget because it actually has no laws, tax rates or anything else in it that actually makes it into the final bill. It is just an outline on what the Committees are to receive and decide what to cut where. However, Senate Republicans basically have said they are going to make changes to their concept of a budget because they don't like what is in it.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...50e6c892&ei=38

    Will they continue with this stance or actually vote with the House? Only time will tell.

    - - - Updated - - -

    So, in a bit of irony, Elise Stephanik may not ever get confirmed by the Senate to be Ambassador to the UN. For the simple reason is that the GOP needs every single vote as of now. Even one being taken away will literally cause them to possibly lose any legislation.

    Oh, it's actually worse than that.

    Today, the US is the fourth biggest exporter of passenger cars to the European Union: 19% of
    the total value of US car exports heads for the EU, representing 12% of EU car imports by value.

    The other way around, the United States is the number one destination for EU-built cars,
    accounting for 29% of the total EU export value and 25% of US global car imports by value.
    It goes on from there with specifics, such as:

    EU exports to the US in 2018: 1,155,488 cars worth about €37.3 billion

    US exports to the EU in 2018: 267,653 cars worth about €5.5 billion
    Yeah, US taxpayers will pay far more in tariffs than EU ones will. A 25% tariff will be $8 billion or so, hard to tell because demand will drop. The EU could block all cars from the US and barely notice.

    Plus: This hits cars made in the US as well. Parts are made all over the world, and if those prices go up due to tariffs those additional taxes on US companies will be passed onto consumers.

    Cars will just get more expensive across the board, which will drive people towards used cars which will also start climbing in price given the increased demand. And repairs involving parts are likely to get expensive as well. Sure they may have the part in their inventory from the pre-tariff days, but why lose out on a bit of extra money to offset the cost of replacing it with the tariffs ahead of time?

    So in a somewhat humorous bug, the new Apple AI voice assistant that will translate voice to text, if you say the word racist, it automatically translates that to Trump. It obviously is a bug but still humorous none the less. Reason? Because since a lot of people associate Donald Trump as being a racist, so does that AI.

    I'll take this argument a bit more seriously when the Dems approval rating is anyway close to Trump's.

    Donald Trump announces the U.S. will sell a ‘Gold Card’ which will grant those who pay $5 million residency and a path to citizenship:

    “Wealthy people will be coming into our country by buying this card. They’ll be wealthy, successful and spending a lot of money”

    So this is how they're gonna do 2028, Elon Musk is going to buy citizenship and despite not being born in America (as is the requirement) this "Gold citizenship card" is going to allow Elon Musk to run for president in 2028, and he's going to win because he's got the voting software on lockdown.
    “Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.”
    Diary of Anne Frank
    January 13, 1943

    can we not do this, please?

    a constitutional amendment isn't going to be passed to allow non-native born presidents

    there still remains zero credible evidence of electoral fraud

    Honestly, I am done with the doomerism. Is there a valid reason or reasons for it? Sure. But instead of just being defeated, actually use that energy to plan, prepare and commit to action. That is what I am doing and frankly, it will be better for your mental health.

    Also, there has always been a version of the green card that had a monetary amount attached to it. Called the EB-5 Visa and it was to allow foreign born people to invest in the country in return for citizenship. It started off at $1 million or so and also required investment into something else.

    The first meeting of the cabinet.

    Everyone is paying full attention to President Elon while Donald looks down, sulking.

    Truly, this is the leadership America voted for. This is what Republicans wanted. A South African pedo guy nobody actually voted for to run this country.

    There is a lot of mathematical evidence though. The dems refusing to push for recounts likely fucked the country.

    Anyway this a pretty good breakdown of the proposed insanity that is the Budget.

    They are making all those cuts to fund tax breaks for those making over $762,000, with H.Con.Res 14. So, I guess fuck all those people losing jobs along with the services and benefits owed to the general population. That were paid for with our taxes and money we contributed to every month. Here is the budget that the House just passed:

    “H.Con.Res 14 calls for at least $1.5 trillion in cuts to critical programs as well as $4.5 trillion in tax cuts for the next ten years for people earning more than $762,000 per year. It also increases the debt limit by $4 trillion.

    To pay for these tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, House Republicans are proposing cuts to programs that millions of Americans rely on. Specifically, H.Con.Res. 14 directs:

    The House Energy & Commerce Committee to find at least $880 billion in cuts, most of which are expected to come from Medicaid, which provides health care to nearly 80 million Americans, most of whom are children;

    The House Committee on Agriculture to find at least $230 billion in cuts, most of which are expected to come from food assistance for underserved Americans, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program;

    The House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure to find at least $10 billion, which could include restricting Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) funding. The Houston region has received more than $1 billion in federal funding from the IIJA. These cuts could also result in increases to the tonnage tax on cargo—and Port Houston is the largest port in the U.S. for waterborne tonnage;

    The House Committee on Financial Services to find at least $1 billion in cuts, which are expected to come from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), a governmental agency that protects Americans from unfair financial practices and was established in response to the Great Recession in 2008; and

    The House Committee on Education & the Workforce to find at least $330 billion in cuts, most of which are expected to come from Head Start programs, school meal programs, and federal student aid.”

    Yeah, I don't see what he's so mad about. It'll be a while before Dem popularity is anywhere as low as Trump's. You know he slipped again today, right? I posted yesterday his favorability was only 0.8% and today it's already 0.7%. 1/10th of a percent per day, for a month, will put Trump lower than any President in their first month, including himself. Keep it up for a year, and he's in single digits.

    Also, people claiming Trump is a king talking about polls, lol.
