I think we are starting to see the end of doge as even the telegraph is posting stuff like this now. I think it is inevitable that trump and musk get in a baby rage screaming match soon because both have the same ego to them. When Mr Musk denied this, Mr Collins demanded that Doge should be strategic about their cuts and not wield a blunt instrument to cleave off staff in his department, to which the president agreed.
“Trump called the meeting and then he backed his cabinet guys. Collins and Duffy called him (Musk) a liar to his face, in front of the president.”
i like how this is all reporting on how apparently everyone in the white house hates elon and blames him for everything
but nobody will actually say shit roflmao
same shit as the last administration, apparently everyone was actually secretly a very good person protecting the nation and who hated what was going on but nobody actually like, you know, publicly ever did anything about it
which, to me, reads a lot more like farming positive headlines in the face of nonstop bad press because media are giddy to be manipulated again

The Justice Department on Friday celebrated its decision to drop a federal lawsuit against a Louisiana petrochemical plant accused of worsening cancer risks for residents in a majority-Black community, saying the dismissal showed that officials are “delivering on President (Donald) Trump’s promise to dismantle radical DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) programs and restore integrity to federal enforcement efforts.”
Smack dab in the middle of Cancer Alley.
The Denka plant is located in an industrial stretch of Louisiana from New Orleans to Baton Rouge that is officially called the Mississippi River Chemical Corridor. It’s known informally as Cancer Alley for the high incidence of cancer among residents who live near the industrial corridor, which has about 200 fossil fuel and petrochemical operations. The area accounts for about 25% of the petrochemical production in the United States.
Trying to protect US citizens from carcinogenic chemicals = DEI.

I was told I was delusional by Jill Stein supporters when I said Trump was going to give Israel a blank check to completely decimate and annex Gaza. That surely Trump wouldn't be worse than Kamala on genocide.
Vindicated AGAIN. Damn I hate continuing to be right and predicting everything, even though it was clear as day for anyone with a brain.
“Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.”

I love this part of it.
Sorry Musk, you are finding out that you have no actual power and are going to find out really quick what pissing off people do that actually do have power. They can easily lock you, your minions and the like out of any department they so choose. You have fired “nobody,” Mr Musk is said to have told Mr Rubio, scornfully insinuating that the only person he had fired was a staff member from Doge.
And here it is happening sooner than I thought it would happen. I thought it would be another good 6 months before everything started to come to a head.
EDIT: Want to add this. Making something more efficient is a good thing and pretty much everyone will generally agree on this. Making something cheaper is also a good thing and pretty much everyone agrees on this. How we get to that point is where the differences come in. But at no time is just firing everyone with a certain designation(probationary) a good way to make things more efficient or even cheaper. At no time is bringing people in without any actual experience in the fields they are trying to work with to make those areas more efficient ever going to be cheaper or actually make things efficient. Using AI to do this is most definitely not going to do that either as we are seeing when it flagged pictures of the Enola Gay for removal.

Let me respond to this by quoting the Democratic Senator from Pennsylvania:
https://x.com/SenFettermanPA/status/1898080811301454149Columbia let antisemitism run amok to cater to lunatic fringe and paid provocateurs.
Leadership allowed those assholes to take over the campus and terrorize Jewish students.
Now, Columbia pays for its failure and I support that.
I know this will make some anti-semites mad. But they had a good run of it during the Biden administration. Look back on the good times when you could do whatever, and only get some stern words in return.
They can, of course, decide that the federal cuts are worth it to maintain their tolerance or establishment of content-discriminatory policies, intimidation, harassment, property destruction, and assault. Naturally, while saying it actually doesn't like those things, all the while showing that nothing will be done. They have a $15 billion endowment, so if that's what they want it used for, by all means.“Universities must comply with all federal antidiscrimination laws if they are going to receive federal funding. For too long, Columbia has abandoned that obligation to Jewish students studying on its campus. Today, we demonstrate to Columbia and other universities that we will not tolerate their appalling inaction any longer.”
