We're what? About 2 months into this? I'm very concerned we're going to be at this time next year.
The people who voted for Trump and are now shocked or actually targeted by this remind me of this famous video.

They asked for it, they shall receive it.

The GOP response to the leak of classified war plans is pretty much what you'd expect.

“Wait. What country are you from?” Greene asked seconds after hearing Kelner’s accent.

When the reporter responded that she was from the United Kingdom, the congresswoman refused to even let her finish her question, let alone answer it.

“OK, we don’t give a crap about your opinion and your reporting,” Greene said. “Why don’t you go back to your country, where you have a major migrant problem.

“No, no, no, no — you should care about your own borders,” the GOP firebrand continued, as Kelner persisted.

“Do you care about American lives being put at risk?” the reporter interjected.

“Let me tell you something,” Greene responded. “Do you care about people from your country? What about all the women that are raped by migrants?”

“You’re done — I don’t care about your fake news,” the congresswoman snapped as she sought out an “American journalist” to ask her a question.

The next reporter Greene called on, however, asked the congresswoman to answer Kelner’s question.

Greene refused but offered to answer it if the American reporter posed the question, which he did.

“You want to know about complete disregard for operational security? You should talk about the Biden administration and how they ripped our borders open to terrorist cartels, child sex trafficking, human trafficking and drug trafficking across our borders for four years,” the lawmaker said.

“The Trump administration is doing a great job, and I stand by their statements.”
"Why ask us about putting classified information in full public display when imaginary people are raping your children!"

Just as a reminder: 100% of current US Presidents are rapists. If you really have a problem with rapists, you wouldn't be a Trump supporter.

I love that video so much. Not what is happening to the dude who does the assaulting, but seeing that little bitch get what he deserves warms my hart.
The distance between what is said and what is known to be true has become an abyss. Of all the things at risk, the loss of an objective reality is perhaps the most dangerous. The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. When truth leaves us, when we let it slip away, when it is ripped form our hands, we become vulnerable to the appetite of whatever monster screams the loudest.

Well not sure there can be a much bigger red flag than a professor who studies fascism at Yale fleeing to work in Canada oh and his Grandma fled Berlin with his Dad in 1939 ....

“But how could you speak out loudly if you’re not an American citizen?” he questioned. “And if you can’t speak out loudly if you’re not an American citizen, when will they come for the American citizens? It’s inevitable.” - that statement pretty much sums it up and is fucking terrifying

Even in cases #1 and #2, they should immediately identify themselves with name and badge number on request.

Putting on a mask or refusing to provide their name and badge number (or comparable info) should be grounds for summary dismissal with cause for unethical conduct. It should be considered an implicit confession of guilty intent if they're accused of overstepping any bounds or committing any unlawful or criminal acts. Literally, just "Oh, you put on a mask before doing that thing and we have video/pictures of you with your face obscured or refusing to give your name and badge number? We'll take that as a confession, then, thanks".

There is no other circumstance where you'd need or want to mask up that I can think of, not legitimately. If it's just because you don't want to be filmed and posted to the Internet, pigs can squeal but no one should care about it. It's not that fucking hard to be a decent person, and if you're operating well within your ethical guidelines and granted authority, publicity shouldn't be a threat. You should welcome it for covering your ass. Since you don't, we know you're doing criminal shit, and roasting you for bacon is the only valid response.
Refusing to properly identify yourself as law enforcement officer by refusing to give out your name and badge number should be considered grounds for a complete dismissal of the case if someone you are trying to arrest kills you tbh.

Tho I understand the need for hiding the officers' identity when dealing with organized crime where there is a real danger of the criminal organization targeting the officers' family, but that's not really the case with arresting protesters on campus, so it doesn't apply here.

President Donald Trump has said he was not briefed about four U.S. Army soldiers reported missing during military exercises in Lithuania.
So it seems that unless it's related to his revenge tour or dismantling the US government Donald is totally MIA.

US soldiers missing in Lithuania for days? Well he'll learn about it from a journalist asking about it.

Because this administration and president do not give a shit about our military despite the constant claims otherwise.

Another stunning example of how terrible these people are as human beings.

I imagine he probably lost interest by the time the sharpie-drawn daily briefings got around to it

i remember one of our resident conservatives being confident donald would lead looking to the future and wouldn't spend his entire presidency pursuing a quest for petty vengeance/revenge over political opponents and it's very funny how the past two months have extremely conclusively proven that to be wrong and that yes donald is overwhelmingly focused on his revenge/vengeance tour

it's very funny indeed considering how it was pointed out that donald still holds a 40 year old grudge over a single comment in a magazine back in the 80's about his tiny, childlike hands

Yeah, if you look at the video and dont know they are law enforcement youd think she was being human trafficked.

    https://www.npr.org/sections/shots-h...f-rfk-job-cuts

The Trump administration Thursday announced a major restructuring of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that will cut 20,000 full-time jobs.

The cuts include employees who have taken the Trump administration's Fork in the Road offer and early retirement, plus an additional reduction in force of 10,000 jobs. It will take the HHS workforce from 82,000 to 62,000, according to the HHS press release.

The restructuring also includes a reorganization of HHS's many divisions to reduce them from 28 to 15.
    Dope.

HHS states that the job cuts will save $1.8 billion. The agency currently has a budget of nearly $2 trillion, the majority of which pays for benefits for Americans covered by Medicaid and Medicare.
Also known as 0.1% of the HHS budget. Incredible savings!

"When I arrived, I found that over half of our employees don't even come to work," he said. (HHS did not immediately respond to a question about whether the employees were in approved teleworking arrangements, placed on administrative leave or something else.)
Ah yes, "If I can't physically see them working they're not working" boomer energy, excellent.

"HHS has more than 100 communications offices and more than 40 IT departments and dozens of procurement offices and nine H.R. departments. In many cases, they don't even talk to each other."
Yes...and? HHS is a big department with many sub-departments. It doesn't always make sense to have everything highly centralized, and there is value in a large number of communications offices spread around the US to speed up the flow of information in both directions. How many people work in those offices? How many people in the 40 IT departments? These details would seem important.

He described "little fiefdoms" within HHS of being "so insulated and territorial that they actually hoard our patient medical data and sell it for profit to each other," though he didn't offer further details.
Of course he did not, because if there were details to prove this unsupported lie he'd have shared them.

Alsobrooks also confronted Kennedy during his confirmation hearing about comments he'd made asserting that the childhood vaccine schedule should be adjusted depending on a child's race. "These mass layoffs at Health and Human Services will cost human lives," Alsobrooks said. "I will do all I can to fight this."

"There is a benefit to occasional reorganizations of HHS. But, this is also about big staff and program reductions," Larry Levitt of the nonpartisan health research organization KFF wrote on social media.

"A lot of what HHS employees do is behind the scenes oversight, to prevent fraud and abuse and ensure health care programs provide the services promised. Reductions in the federal workforce could result in more wasteful spending down the road."

Wait werent the people that signed the fork in the road supposed to have jobs until September 30? And be exempt of return to work policies?

I know its not a surprise they went back on their word but its so weird.

Its no different then the bullshit elmo pulled with twitter. Why anyone expected otherwise is blissfully naive or stupid.

I assume this is important since the GOP in the senate might actually NOT just rubberstamp a candidate after the shitshow of the last months?

damn, so the guy who fucked up all along is actually the guy who fucked up all along?

what about everyone else in that chat, though? didn't tulsi fire a bunch of intelligence staffers for using "unapproved communications platforms"? and isn't signal an "unapproved communications platform"? and wasn't DNI tulsi a part of that chat thread on the "unapproved communications platform"?

how are the geniuses at doge doing?

Even one of DOGE’s own representatives has acknowledged publicly that the why behind the potential problems they identify is not always readily apparent.

During an appearance on Fox News Thursday evening, Sam Corcos, special adviser to the Treasury Department, said DOGE had identified that the IRS has 8,000 people working in its IT department with a maintenance budget of $3.5 billion a year, when a typical midsize bank would have fewer than 200 people in IT and a budget of $20 million.

But, he admitted, “I don’t really know why yet.”
oh damn, doge really doesn't know what they're doing at all, huh.

'They really don't know why yet' because it's an institution tracking and sorting through the financials of two-hundred million Americans you fucking idiots, it -needs- a comparably large and well trained staff.

Jesus christ these people have the reasoning skills of children.
