The thing you have to understand is that Trump is a dumbass and thinks it's not "USA citizens now have to pay 10% more to buy UK goods," it's "the UK pays the US 10% more to send us their goods."

Yep. I live in central TX and I'm about four hours from the Laredo border crossing. Mexico City is a 17 hour drive. Not including wait times.

You also have to deal with the hassle of border crossing, documentation (most Americans don't have valid passports), and customs. There are also personal limits on the value of electronics you can bring across the border without having to pay import duties. Plus the risk of getting jerked around by corrupt border patrol and customs officers.

Elect us, we'll definitely fix it this time!" machine again.

A "border crossing" is also anywhere within 100 miles of an airport that does ANY form of international flight. No its not where you can drive your truck to, but it is the range that ICE and border patrol can do whatever the fuck they want under "border security".
