That's just standard behavior, honestly. The "problem" with yes-men is they have to agree with 100% everything always. Trump's been pushing some extremely bad ideas, like ending Social Security and declaring war on Canada. Even people who worked for Trump on purpose have limits.

Until he starts replacing Cabinet acting members, it's nothing new.

Didn't Trump once say any President who sees a 1000 point dip needs to be impeached immediately?

I mean there is a bottom to how more yes men he can get, is he going to pick Neo Nazi randos on Twitter now? maybe it's my lack of imagination but unless he find a cloning machine the lot he has now are the bottom of the barrel as it is.

This is utter insanity, but this is how they apparently calculated the tariffs.

They calculated the trade surplus between countries, and divided that number by the total value of the exports to the US, and then they divided that by 2. USA bought from Vietnam $136 billion worth of goods, Vietnam bought from USA $13 billion. $136 billion - $13 billion = $123 billion / $136 billion = 90%. 90%/2 = 45%.

I'm at a loss for words. There is a movie called Idiocracy, this goes WAY, WAAAAAAAAY beyond that.

It's as if they were expecting countries like Vietnam to have the same purchasing volume as the goddamn USA.

    Trumpism is a death cult.

The fucking economy is collapsing in front of their eyes, everyone is screaming that is stupid and completely preventable, people are trying to explain the idiocy of the equation they used and MAGA is just screaming "We're winning".

It's either a death cult or these people are just incapable of abstract thinking and foresight.

In a few months you will lose your home, your savings, your jobs, your healthcare, everything, but they don't believe it until it's too late. And in all likelihood they'll just blame Obama or something.

I honestly have no words. We are committing collective suicide on national TV and nobody is stopping it.

Like this doesn't even compare to 2008, yes that was self inflicted by greed and lack of foresight, but this ...this entirely different. This is just dumb.

Like 2008 was a work place injury made worse because we refused to wear a hardhat and work boots. This is putting running a perfectly functional but slightly old forklift off a cliff while still inside, just because you don't like that the forklift was built in Korea.

Considering they are putting tariffs on penguins and US airbases the word calculated is doing insane amount of heavy lifting.

We already know how they came up with this fucking retardation.

If you go to any of the big LLM AI's and tell them to spit out a formula for tariffs to balance a trade deficit, this is what they spit out at you.

The formula itself is a bit more complicated because there is an elasticity value in it which is quite hard to calculate and would require you to go through the whole volume of trade and adjust the value according to a million factors.

But probably they didn't understand the formula or they just couldn't be bothered to do the work, so they set the elasticity value at a fixed 1.

This is how you end up with this shitty formula.

We know the White House doesn't understand the formula they are using because one of the staffers was tweeting last night trying to explain the formula demonstrating he clearly couldn't understand what he was talking about.

I'll link the tweet later if I can find it again.

    Found it.

    White House Deputy Press Secretary.

The distance between what is said and what is known to be true has become an abyss. Of all the things at risk, the loss of an objective reality is perhaps the most dangerous. The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. When truth leaves us, when we let it slip away, when it is ripped form our hands, we become vulnerable to the appetite of whatever monster screams the loudest.

Maybe this will convince other countries to severely limit their own usage of AI in anything remotely regarding important government-type positions.

I'm pretty sure this is not the fault of AI. Any person spending more than a millisecond looking at those numbers can see they are wrong.

It's gonna be fun when the counter tariffs start rolling out... I hope everybody does, to hopefully nip this bullshit in the bud and make Donnie realise he can't bully the world!

He definitely stated his plans to run early. He didn't formally announce it until the race officially began, of course, but the course was laid in the immediate aftermath of the previous election.
    Fair, I stand corrected.

    That Nasdaq drop is... dramatic.
