You’re trying to make a point about moral culpability. I talked about his post’s point on Trump voters and contrasting it with his description of Trump’s opponent. You can both partially identify issues with Trump’s voters knowledge of economics, and then show beliefs in lies and ignorance of candidates to lower yourself into their camp. Intelligence-wise. Which is fine if you yield that you’re as dumb as a certain segment of Trump voters, just in other ways.

what other ways, do ya reckon?

is it "you're economically literate and know a tariff is a domestic tax"?

THE DAYS OF THE BRITISH INDIAN OCEAN TERRITORY ABUSING THE UNITED STATES VIA TRADE ARE OVER

Who lives on the British Indian Ocean Territory?

The islands are mostly uninhabited, save for approximately 3,000 U.S. and U.K. military personnel who are stationed at a joint Navy Support Facility on the island Diego Garcia. Trump’s tariffs would mostly affect the service members there. Another roughly 1,200 people live on the country’s Chagos Archipelago.
Ah yes, tariffing an island primarily inhabited by our own military.

Truly, the most impressive administration ever to exist. The competence is stunning.

I was quite impressed by the inclusion of the Heard Island and McDonald Islands, that ceased economic activity in about 1877

I despise AI, and I think any government official using it for anything should be a fireable offense.

The problem is deeper. The prompt they used was deeply simplistic, and the AI gave them exactly what they asked for. BUT EVEN THEN, they didn't understand what the AI gave them and they completely misused the equation as given to them.

These people are too stupid to even the use ChatGPT.

Hence my point. While Trump is a very pointed example in the US… sadly many countries have the same self-important, self-aggrandizing idiotic nationalist pricks in Trump’s vein that have been bubbling up.

I saw a post about this and it was basically that the Trump admin catalogued these nations via domain and not actual territorial boundaries. Its why Gibraltar and France are separate despite literally being the same. Gibraltar has a separate domain name (.gi) and why British Indian Ocean territory is there (.io)

This was made by a LLM and none bothered to check it b4hand

IGN just wades into it with the article Here's Why the Nintendo Switch 2, Mario Kart World, and Everything Around Them Is So Expensive

"Um, why are you posting that here? This is a thread about things Trump did."

    I know. And yet.

To be fair, IGN doesn't just say "It's tariffs" and walk away. They flat-out say Nintendo might be using them as an excuse, raising the price artificially so the tariffs don't raise them further, then leaving it high and reaping the profits. But they do also flat-out say ignoring the tariffs, and the dollar vs. the yen, is foolish.

And because it’s Nintendo, the price will never go down.

I'm pretty sure at $450 the system is barely turning them a profit on units sold before tariffs, and $10 increase on games is definitely not funding tariff costs. The game price increase is 100% their own greed, the games are fucking 90 euros in the EU my dude.

These prices have jack shit to do with the tariffs, these are the prices Nintendo wants to sell at. If anything Nintendo might have to raise the price after their already imported stock is ran through since the vast majority of their production is in Vietnam and Cambodia.

If you think these prices are because of the tariffs did you really think the Switch 2 was going to sell for $300? The same price the Switch 1 still sells for? Like at best, Nintendo expected 10-20% tariffs and changed it to $450 instead of $400 but $450 is 100% NOT taking into account 49% and 46% tariffs on their biggest production hubs.
