If your argument is "We shouldn't have regulations or laws because Trump is in charge" that is certainly a take, but I don't see how it is relevant to this particular issue. Trump is also in charge of the agencies that regulate medicine and food, but I hardly see that has a solid argument for getting rid of all medicine and food regulations.

Nope, they appoint the people in charge of that. Just like almost everywhere else in the world. Don't have to talk to a senator for that.
If an agency falls under a minister's department and the agency fucks up, most of the time the minister has to resign. Last two governments imploded because of that.

The top leadership of agencies are appointees, and right now the head of the FCC is a telecommunications attorney, so while he may be a Republican I disagree with I am fairly sure that a telecommunications attorney is an expert on telecommunications law.
The actual rank and file of the agencies are not appointees. They are civil servants.

Do you trust the FCC to make the right calls when its leading position can be appointed by someone who could rightfully be called the biggest "boomer grandpa" on the planet? When it's known that he appoints people purely by how hard they agree with everything he says and not by any kind of moral or skill-based merit?
