Just a heads up... what is happening on the Dow right now, does not happen very often. Sure, 3rd time this year... but, still... this is brutal...

What's the rate on bonds? Oh. Right. The debt. Those tax cuts sure seem like a good idea now, and are totally lifting stocks to new highs!

Also when you are getting hard carried by tech stocks and they are taking a hitting, add in some interest rate fears to curb higher than usual inflation pushing investors out of the market, add in a dash of housing prices as the housing market is getting too high on top of interest rates are pushing the common worker out (mortgage application took a massive hit this week) and top it off with a sprinkle of of ongoing trade war concerns and you have a fantastic shit Sunday waiting to happen.

I hope house prices come down. I got my house with enough down payment to pay 1500 a month. I volunteered 100 more after a year to pay down the mortgage faster. 4.5 years after I bought the house... due to property taxes, am paying a bit over 1900 a month. Now, imagine if I was single income, with kids and shit... I’d be so fucked...

Yeah, no. Those are directly up because of wood, steel, and aluminium (siding and vents) tariffs. Plus whatever happens to electronics like AC units. Housing prices were up 9% in June and there's no sign they're turning around.

It's possible. He's asked for that kind of thing before.

This bleeping idiot. We understand you can only comprehend crayon.

On top that the moron denies climate change reports, that his own administration agreed upon like a week back. You know how some politicians we give credit that the acknowledge climate change, but are just corrupted by fossil fuel industry. I believe trump is just an idiot.

So in one statement it once again shows how stupid he is. First his butchering of the English language and his denial of science.
This the moment I say, atleast one country might have to leave the Paris Accords for nature due to a massive possible fine if they cant make it to 30% reduced CO2 footprint in 2022?

But I want to tell you a couple of things: the chief is doing a very good job. I’m very happy with him, we have a very good relationship, number one. Number two, I didn’t offer anybody else the job. I didn’t talk to anybody about the job. And I’m not, I’m not looking. Now, look, with time, do people leave? As an example, Nikki Haley told me six months ago, even a year ago — but six months ago, that, you know, she’s been governor, she’s done this, she’s helped us with the campaign, a lot of good things, and you probably saw the conference. It was a very, very positive thing. We have a very positive story going on at the White House. We have a very positive story for the country. We’re doing a great job. We have the greatest economy in the history of our country. We have among the greatest job numbers. Among many groups, we have the greatest job numbers. We have things going on that are phenomenal on trade. China wants to make a deal — I said, you’re not ready yet. But they wanna make a deal, and at some point we might. Iran wants to make a deal. They all wanna make a deal. We have great things going. We have a very smooth-running organization even though it’s never reported that way. So the real story is that. It’s really the real story. When you walk in here, you don’t see chaos. There is no chaos. The media likes to portray chaos. There’s no chaos. I’m leaving for Iowa in a little while. We’re doing something that’s going to be very exciting tonight in Iowa. A big, a big announcement, actually. Doing four rallies this week. I think the rallies have, frankly, built up our poll numbers very greatly. What am I now in Rasmussen? 52?”
Just one excerpt from a very lengthy interview involving Trump, Pompeo, Kelly, Pence and more. Holy shit.

Was this supposed to be coherent? Every country in the climate accord regulates themselves. So there's no "massive possible fine" in the works.

To back this up. The lack of any teeth for countries that failed to meet their goals was actually a criticism that the agreement faced at the time it was signed, making that claim even more absurd.

So Trump wrote an OP ED in USA Today in which he talked about Medicare.

Nearly every single sentence he wrote was wrong.

    Let's count 'em down.

    1) “Throughout the year, we have seen Democrats across the country uniting around a new legislative proposal that would end Medicare as we know it and take away benefits that seniors have paid for their entire lives.”

Sanders' plan involves making things currently either unavailable, or those with deductibles, under current Medicare law covered and with no deductible, such as hearing aids. His plan also involves slowly lowering the age of entry until everyone is covered. There is not a single word in his plan about lowering or removing benefits. Trump flat-out lied.

    2) “As a candidate, I promised that we would protect coverage for patients with pre-existing conditions and create new health care insurance options that would lower premiums. I have kept that promise, and we are now seeing health insurance premiums coming down.”

Another blatant lie. As I've posted before, Trump's attacks on the ACA -- such as removing the core feature that everyone must buy insurance, and his reversal on the aforementioned pre-existing conditions (details here) -- have not only directly broken his promises, but there is also no credible study in which costs are going down. Instead, there are credible studies showing the costs increasing much faster than during the ACA's original setup.

    3) “I also made a solemn promise to our great seniors to protect Medicare. That is why I am fighting so hard against the Democrats' plan that would eviscerate Medicare.”

As mentioned before, there is no Democrat plan to "eviscerate" Medicare. That's still a lie. Also, while it's more a lie of omission than a blatant lie, the Kaiser Foundation found that the Medicare funding will run out in 2026.

"Oh, so Trump pushed it back."

No, it was due to run out in 2029. Trump moved it forwards three years.

    4) “Democrats have already harmed seniors by slashing Medicare by more than $800 billion over 10 years to pay for Obamacare.”

No, that was the Republicans who did that. Obama raised Medicare payroll taxes, adding over $300 billion to the funding.

Incidentally, Trump's proposed budget cuts $350 billion from Medicare.

    5) “The Democratic plan would inevitably lead to the massive rationing of health care. Doctors and hospitals would be put out of business. Seniors would lose access to their favorite doctors. There would be long wait lines for appointments and procedures. Previously covered care would effectively be denied.”

None of this makes sense. If there was a rush on medical care, why the hell would hospitals and doctors go out of business? Why would procedures be denied if the government was footing everyone's bill? There are plenty of countries in the world that have care for all without doctors suddenly going out of business because they had too many patients.

    6) “The Democrats' plan also would mean the end of choice for seniors over their own health-care decisions. Instead, Democrats would give total power and control over seniors’ health care decisions to the bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.”

Medicare is already government run. There is no suggested change, no matter what Trump, lying, says.

    7) “The new Democrats are radical socialists who want to model America’s economy after Venezuela.”

This is a familiar talking point around these parts. It's still false. Not a single Democrat has ever suggested Venezuela as a role model.

    8) “Some Democrats' absolute commitment to end enforcement of our immigration laws by abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement. That means millions more would cross our borders illegally and take advantage of health care paid for by American taxpayers.”

Non-citizens don't get Medicare. Blatant lie.

    9) “Republicans believe that a Medicare program that was created for seniors and paid for by seniors their entire lives should always be protected and preserved.”

The CBO says that the government is already due to pay less and less of the overall medical bills of the country, with the taxpayers paying more and more themselves. Also, due to age tiers, already Americans get more out of Medicare than they put into it.

Feel free to read his article and point out the things that are true. I'm fairly sure he signed his name right.

You know I'm really not for political violence, but I kinda think anyone who goes "but Venezuela!" should have a knuckle broken until they stop being stupid. Or at least just nun-wacked with a meter stick, maybe. I don't know. I'm just tired of people repeating dumb things, I guess.

If only we had some kind of compulsory education system where people were taught how to think.

Standardized testing style education doesn't really put much emphasis on critical thinking skills. And people who can analyze a situation beyond soundbites don't make for good political pawns.

There may be no chaos in the White House but the same can't be said about his state of mind. I do understand why Trump loves twitter, he talks in 155 characters even during interviews.

Asked about the murder of a journalist in Instanbul allegedly under Saudi orders and possible punishment, Trump's response is, "They spend a lot of money here."

This is why Trump will lose in 2020. No, not this specific ghastly comment, but the fact that he is a fount of inappropriate and appalling comments. His strength is simultaneously his weakness, and that's not a winning dichotomy.
