My view with Rogan isn’t that he is trying to cause issues or any of that. He isn’t a politician or really political, he is a podcaster and entertainer who is willing to have anyone on his show that he thinks his viewers would like to hear from and he doesn’t really push back on the stuff because he does really know it.

Like when he had Neil Tyson on there. He could have easily lied to Joe and gotten away with it with no pushback because Joe isn’t a scientist or anything.

The issue is Trump and the Republicans know this and exploit it with anyone they think they can talk to with an audience and without pushback.

Really wish he would research before he invites guests on and push back more. But, from what I have seen, his style is to basically just have a conservation on to keep the dialog going and let them talk.

Something that could have helped that would have been for a Democrat politician volunteer to go on his show and spend it actually fact checking much of Trumps lies during it with sources to back it up already pre searched to give them quickly.

But I see Rogan as an entertainer who doesn’t know enough to push back on most people who invites when it comes to real hard hitting topics.

Nah there are stages to Joe Rogan. I used to watch his show cuz it was entertaining and I still do now but for different reasons. Like he pushes back on topics he feels strongly about. Like he used to believe in climate change and pushed back on it. He believes on certain things and he pushes on those topics. I dont think he is a conservative, he is a conspiracy theorist through and through. And currently the republican party is the party of that.

He is antivaxx, he has bought into those weird diets, he has recently become anti climate change. Like these are things that have found their home in the GOP so thats where Joe leans on.

And that is pretty shocking cuz he used to push back on climate change but his brain broke somewhere along the way that he is become like an insane nutjob on a lot of things.

In the same convo they do a lot of COVID conspiracy talk and Joe is the one pushing that stuff

I think Rogan along with many other of these influencer types just jumped on the bandwagon and took it too far now that the pendulum is swinging hard the opposite direction. He's gone full pro oligarch having them on and going so far up Elon's backside he is giving him a colonoscopy. I think people like him have been entirely caught off guard by how fast Trump is crashing. Some will try to pivot others will double down, it's hard to wash off the orange stink once you endorse him.

I should observe that (1) liberals/progressives generally won't call out members of their political movement who say things like "Land of the free, home of the brave ... do not and never have applied to the US and (2) that kind of bullshit, among other things, gives Vance his support to go over to Germany and call out Europeans for retreating from democratic and western values. Not that you're necessarily European and saying it, but it's usually the worst offenders that criticize others on topics of bravery and freedom.
