    Welp we are fucked.
From how things are going it really seems like only a matter of time until one of these ICE thugs runs up on someone keen on exercising their second amendment rights.

They are rolling with the police in some areas now so I'm guessing there have been some incidents. Of course that's regressive because it causes locals to turn against their local pds, which is why sanctuary cities had to become a thing.

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey mayor is arrested at ICE detention center where he was protesting its opening, acting US attorney says.

    Vid in link.

I watched another vid and there was pushing and shoving of Congress people (idk if US or state) and the Newark Mayor trying to get into detention center. Anyways cops arrested Newark Mayor.

Ironically Alina Habdid says "No one is above the law".

Umm, yeah. Pretty crazy they arrested on a protest of politicians trying to get into what is suppose to be a US government facility, with no Security clearance. This happened back in the day in Texas if I remember.

That's what they want why do you think they want to suspend due process this is either ending in civil war or an authoritarian regime.

Considering the general apathy of America, the latter...
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

“The controversial 1,000-bed facility is owned by the private prison company GEO Group, which entered into a 15-year, $1 billion contract with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in February.”

$1 BILLION dollars lining the pockets of a private prison company.

Ahh private prisons. Must be about the profit.

I wonder if this is the angle of private property. Yet detained by Fed police now being held somewhere.

My End Crypto Corruption Act is simple: no elected official should be engaging in a crypto scheme to enrich themselves and sell influence—like Trump is doing right now.

Let’s seize the day! This is the right moment to have anti-corruption provisions included in the GENUIS Act.
-- Jeff Merkley, fairly and legally elected Senator from Oregon

Trump is cashing in on his presidency and making millions from his own crypto coins. It’s corruption in broad daylight.

I’m co-sponsoring a bill to make it illegal for the President, the Vice President, administration officials, and members of Congress to issue, sponsor, or endorse crypto assets for profit.

It’s time to put a stop to this.
--Mark Kelly, fairly and legally elected Senator from Arizona, responding to the above

Senator Mark Kelly is cashing in on his US Senate seat as a partner in a Chinese communist company that makes surveillance balloons. He should be charged with treason and if convicted executed , consistent with federal law.
-- known Trump ally Roger Stone, unelected and not in any government position, even Trump's WH

"What? An elected official, taking foreign money?"

You can read more in this two-year-old Axios article, the punch line of which is "the Arizona Senator started a company in Arizona, and the Chinese bought something from them once". Kelly is hands-off the company and has been since at least 2020.

"Still, this is an outrage. All elected officials should not get any money in any way from any foreign source!"

Trump tried to sell 666 5th Ave to foreign governments in full view of everyone. Trump supporters, even those calling for the death penalty for their political adversaries, are assumed to be disingenuous and their objections are handwaved.

It reminds me of the billion hundreds of millions of deals the Trump family is engaged wrt real estate and when confronted by it their response is that Hunter Biden sold paintings.

As a reminder, the Burisma scheme at its highest estimates netted Hunter Biden 5 million over a period of 10 years. These people are cashing in hundreds of millions up to billions in blatant favour selling. Does anyone wonder why Trump praises Qatar so much these days?

One thing most of those tards don’t realize, when you throw away another’s rights, you put your own rights on the chopping block as well.

You allowed that precedence to be set and once it is, it is much easier to expand. And don’t think that you will be safe from that unless you are rich and connected enough to be the ones making the policies.

Without blatant hypocrisy, conservatives would have nothing. Other than hyperventilating about brown people having the gall to live in this country, I can't think of a single negative thing they pretend to care about that they aren't gleefully doing themselves.

They think they're too white to need them.

Guess they need to be reminded just how much that whiteness helped them in the guided age. Or how much it helped them in the days of slavery when they weren’t the rich and actually had to try and compete against slave labor to get work except now only 2% of the labor force is needed for farming instead of 50%+.

But, can safely say that most of these people appear to hate minorities and facts more than they love themselves or their children.

So just to clean up my post about Mayor of Newark arrest.

First the Mayor was not protesting but there to observe.

Second the Congress members were granted access and when they left the Brown shirts started shoving and pushing.

Rep. Bonnie Watson first hand account below.

They're old enough to know how to make an appointment. This was a photo op, and they got the photo op. Mission accomplished.

Mayors dont need an appointment to observe lol

The federal government cannot block access to local authorities. Its literally trampling over state rights (and city rights!!!)

Republicans cant stop being hypocrites again and again

I thought he was there to protest?

Let me put it to you this way: Can a mayor demand entry to a Federal Bureau of Prisons facility, simply for being mayor of the town? How about a military base? If the answer to either in your opinion is, "No," then what special rule applies to the Department of Homeland Security? We can get down to the heart of the issue quite fast if you want.

I don't think the law allows certain classes of elected government officials (well, state and local officials) to drop by when they feel like it, and enjoy immunity from trespass laws.

(All the usual caveats on a developing story apply. I read that he claimed on a news program that he was leaving and obeying a command to leave when he was arrested. On the flip side if he was asked nicely to leave, and then arrested when he did not, that's simple trespass and lawful. The arrest is kind of the point if this is a photo op and political stunt.)
