Well, now, that's the problem. You see. Everything Trump does, the SC will drag their feet on ruling but the SC has given themselves the injunctive power. So once the ruling is made and the President is a Dem, you can bet that the SC will immediately step in on the injunction.

The Republicans know exactly what they're doing.

Now watch for the flurry of shit-ass EO's and hastily written laws that will have massive impacts upon the 2026 and 2028 elections in order to steal them for Republicans.

At this point, about the only recourse the public will have is for enough of them to start exerting their second amendment rights to fight tyranny.

Well, here is to hoping the democrats get filibuster proof majorities in both houses and start to ram stuff through and start holding the judges to some level of accountability as well as Trump….

To bad I have negative faith in them even attempting that and even if they got those majorities they would default back to being bipartisan or even potentially having a few just “decide” to switch parties so we get back to another Joe Manchin situation.

Hope I’m wrong but believe it when I see it. They fight harder against their own trying to fix problems than they do on fixing the problems.

Democrats are going to remain in the minority until there is another civil war in America. Today's scrotum ruling has ensured that we will see a ton of fuckery prior to the midterms, either via EO or shit-ass legislation and conservative scrotum will ignore it and there will be too many cases to fight it and injunctions will only apply to individuals who bring lawsuits.

And this goes back to Ruth Bader Ginsburg's refusal to step down as well as 2016 Democrats split on not liking Hilary to give Trump a first term and to put the SC in 6:3 overwhelming disadvantage for the foreseeable future

It's good that we are seeing more people waking up to how big a fuckery it is happening right now but it just might be a bit too late. The Republicans had a very good strategy laid out for several decades while establishment Democrats had nothing, if not complicit controlled opposition.

Utah (and republicans) is so stupid.

    How stupid is it?

It's so stupid that the governor is declaring June 29th a statewide day of prayer and fasting for rain

SALT LAKE CITY (June 27, 2025) — Today, Gov. Cox declared Sunday, June 29, 2025 a Day of Prayer and Fasting for Rain as drought conditions intensify across Utah and wildfire risks escalate.

Drought conditions have expanded by 82.9 percent since early June. So far this year, 380 wildfires — 275 human-caused — have burned more than 43,000 acres statewide, stressing farms, ranches, rangelands and wildlife habitat.

“Utah is facing a tough season, and we need both divine help and practical action,” said Gov. Cox. “I invite every Utahn, whatever your faith or belief system, to join me this Sunday in a unified fast and prayer for rain. And while we look heavenward, let’s do our part here at home — fix leaks, water lawns less and use every drop wisely. Small actions, taken together, can make a big difference for our state.”
The practical advice is sound (water lawns less, don't waste it, and even fixing leaks makes sense), BUT that shouldn't be the follow up to "pray," as if this is 1925. I wonder how much the governor will have to kiss some massive mango ass to get even a little help.

If Ginsberg had stepped down...McConnell would have just blocked Obama from appointing her replacement too.

it's quite possible that we were fucked earlier than we realized so question is how far back did we need to look at this fuckery so that, if we were to actually have a chance in the future to unfuck this nation, where should we have started?

Hindsight is 20/20 and it probably started back when idiots got Reagan into power, but what would be the most critical recent turning point?

Kind of a meaningless question right now. Might be something scholars care about in 100 years or so.

Right now the question should be how to stop the fuckery. You'll never get back to being unfucked...but maybe the fuckery can be halted and, gradually, possibly even roll back the fuckery a little before it starts again.

You fucked up the moment you didn't execute the entirety of the leadership of the Confederate States after the civil war.

where would you start? The reconciliation after the civil war.
They stopped short of actually dealing with it there and its festered ever since, all the way to today

This so much. The confederates surrendered and the reaction was to essentially say to them "You were naughty, don't you EVER dare to do it again in the future uwu! Come let's hold hands and sing kumbaya!"

And shocker, conservative sociopaths took it as the golden invitation to continue their nonsense, because their intolerance was given the ultimate tolerance.

At least Germany made Nazism illegal. Even if that illegality wasn't comprehensive enough nor involved severe enough penalties for those caught practicing Nazism.

Well, Trump is now demanding a "Thank You" from the Supreme Leader of Iran.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world...56035e77&ei=13

Moments after Donald Trump held a press conference where he jumped from topic to topic –– including insisting the 2020 election was stolen from him –– he jumped on Truth Social to fume at the leadership of Iran.

According to the president, the leader of Iran has failed to thank him for put a damper on a growing war after the U.S. bombed his country.

The president began, "Why would the so-called 'Supreme Leader,' Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, of the war torn Country of Iran, say so blatantly and foolishly that he won the War with Israel, when he knows his statement is a lie, it is not so. As a man of great faith, he is not supposed to lie. His Country was decimated, his three evil Nuclear Sites were OBLITERATED, and I knew EXACTLY where he was sheltered, and would not let Israel, or the U.S. Armed Forces, by far the Greatest and Most Powerful in the World, terminate his life. I SAVED HIM FROM A VERY UGLY AND IGNOMINIOUS DEATH, and he does not have to say, 'THANK YOU, PRESIDENT TRUMP!'"

Having gotten that off his chest, he insisted, "In fact, in the final act of the War, I demanded that Israel bring back a very large group of planes, which were heading directly to Tehran, looking for a big day, perhaps the final knockout! Tremendous damage would have ensued, and many Iranians would have been killed. It was going to be the biggest attack of the War, by far."

"During the last few days, I was working on the possible removal of sanctions, and other things, which would have given a much better chance to Iran at a full, fast, and complete recovery - The sanctions are BITING! But no, instead I get hit with a statement of anger, hatred, and disgust, and immediately dropped all work on sanction relief, and more. Iran has to get back into the World Order flow, or things will only get worse for them," he complained.

Writing, "They are always so angry, hostile, and unhappy, and look at what it has gotten them - A burned out, blown up Country, with no future, a decimated Military, a horrible Economy, and DEATH all around them. They have no hope, and it will only get worse!" he suggested, "I wish the leadership of Iran would realize that you often get more with HONEY than you do with VINEGAR. PEACE!!!"

    Why is this here?

Because, much like Donald's campaign, the government doesn't pay its obligations anymore.

    Great work, Secretary Puppykiller.

unfortunately i think that question is kind of meaningless too, because the cause of this is that the current iteration of representative government in the US means that at least 49-55% of the active government at any given time is either engaged in the fuckery or supportive of the fuckery, and so there is never going to be any change from within the system.

from a macro view if some god emperor were to remake the US as they see fit to make it not suck, you'd need to start with assigning senators by state population and discontinuing the practice of gerrymandering, replacing it with an independent body that draws district maps.
would probably also be useful to either make more house reps based on the population of their district, or to make some kind of vote weighting system based on same.

the current state of things in the US will not change without either:
    A. sudden and sustained violence that results in large scale systemic change,
    B. a significant enough number of people who vote for republicans die off and are not replaced.

i don't know that i have a good handle on the likely voting habits of the under 40 population of the US right now so i can't say if a new generation of republican voters is priming to replace the current bloc of olds, so maaaaaaybe in about 25-30 years IF there's a dearth of replacement regressive stalwarts we might see a shift in US politics.
but it's gonna be just this shit and inevitably worse for sure from now until then.

    worth noting:

he does this every few years. this is far from the first time.

republicans don't want to actually have to DO ANYTHING to solve problems

Despite resistance, Florida officials are turning an airfield in the Everglades into a migrant detention center, which they've nicknamed "Alligator Alcatraz" due to its proximity to the apex predators.
Note: These are undocumented migrants they're housing, not hardened criminals.

The cruelty and racism is always the point, and Republicans always want to be the big cool movie star.

Veteran Los Angeles political consultant Rick Taylor said he was pulled aside by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents while returning from a trip abroad, asked if he was from California and then separated from his family and put in a holding room with several Latino travelers for nearly an hour.

“I know how the system works and have pretty good connections and I was still freaking out,” said Taylor, 71. “I could only imagine how I would be feeling if I didn’t understand the language and I didn’t know anyone.”

Taylor said he was at a loss to explain why he was singled out for extra questioning, but he speculated that perhaps it was because of the Obama-Biden T-shirt packed in his suitcase.
Is Donald directing federal agencies to harass people they simply think could be Libs?

    Sure seems like it!

Donald sure seems to be doing all the weaponizing of government that Republicans spent the last 4 years dishonestly claiming Biden did.
