Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Tuesday defended hate speech protections under the Constitution but said he supports non-legal consequences for those celebrating the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Cruz gave an example of a university student who dresses up in a Ku Klux Klan outfit, burns a cross and advocates for killing Black people.

“Under the First Amendment, you cannot be prosecuted for that, so you will not go to jail for doing that,” Cruz said. “But you know what? You absolutely can be expelled for that, and you should be.”

Chuck's of the old school of diplomacy. If you can blow smoke up an idiot's ass and get him to make concessions in exchange, just blow the smoke up his ass. You're getting concessions for essentially nothing.

It doesn't always work, because you have to make sure you're getting something, but letting the guy sleep in your spare bedroom for a couple nights and giving him a ride around your property in a carriage you're already paying to keep and maintain costs you basically nothing, and if it makes him content enough to not push stupid bullshit, you get that win for "free".

When Trump said he would get imported drug prices down, I don't think this is what he meant. How can he have so much funding and incentive to stop border crossings and not get the drugs he specifically said they were bringing?
