I wonder if this will affect Trump's approval?
Oh good, I have a important flight friday that I was already worried about.
    Cool. Cool cool cool.

MAGA family members are starting to flirt with lockstep unto normality already as they see the writing on the wall in the future. Hopefully things change for the better in 3 years time but also fuck anyone who does this. Cowards hiding behind others once they’re outted as being awful.

It pisses me off my own mother is like this.

At least you got till Thanksgiving. Hopefully the government closure would have ended by then.

I am flying to Singapore next week Tuesday. SFO recommends that I get there 4 hours before departure. Ugh!

Probably not. After how badly this one is going, the Guardians of Pedophiles know it'd be The End if it happens again this soon.

Why would there be another? They dont intend to seriously open the government. Even if they do they dont intend to govern seriously.

At the rate theyre going someones gonna get recalled before the shutdown ends.

    They kind of do.

The GOP wants to reopen the government because they know they're about to be on the hook when all their voters suddenly wonder why they can't get welfare. In their mindset, they want to reopen because they know they lost.

Trump wants to reopen the government because, to him, it means Democrats have caved on everything. He's announced plans to have no meetings and no negotiations with them, so in his mindset, he wants to open because it means he won.

One of them is living in this reality with the rest of us.

But thats not taking government reoopening seriously. Their intention is to "open it" and then blame ita failure on the Democrats. Even if they do open it, the GOP has no intention to actually govern, with Johnson saying he wont even reconvene the House until March. Thats not "open" government. They just want Trump to do everything by EO, and even an open government means deep cuts to funding and control in the hands of one man, completely removed from sanity.

"Open" government means open on paper, in function its not.

I have been saying for years that the current GOP and their base view the very notion of governance as illegitimate. Their purpose isn’t to govern but to disrupt governance.

    I don’t think that’s entirely true.

They see the government as a way to protect their interests while further enriching themselves.

The notion of governance as something their lessers have a say in as illigitimate, yes. Functionally Republicans no longer view Democracy as valid. They still want power, wealth and control.

Honestly, I think we're like 5 years away from most of the GOP and their voters pretending "I never supported Trump!" just to avoid the shame of the association.

I have yet to see evidence to support the existence of shame as a potential motivator amongst the redhat voters.

The ones who will openly wear a red hat in public absolutely have no shame. But they are only a portion of the people who voted for Trump. Shame will probably be a real thing with a good portion of people who voted for him, and they deserve to be reminded of it for the rest of their lives.
