You have to remember that they are only expecting Democrats to sit back and quietly accept what Trump is doing because that's exactly what they did during Obama and Biden. They endured it with grace and civility.

So Melania is launching a production studio and of course, because she's so humble, the first film it will make is a documentary about her. I can't wait for the back half of it where it's contract disputes with Trump about how much she has to smile.

Producing and starring in a buzzy documentary about her prominent yet under-the-radar life was just the beginning for Melania Trump, who has now launched her own production company.

The first lady announced the launch of "Muse Films" on social media with a brief video unveiling its official logo.

The company will make its debut with the upcoming film titled "Melania," which is slated to release in theaters nationwide Jan. 30 and later on Amazon's Prime Video streaming service.

The documentary showcases the 20 days before the former model returned to the White House following President Donald Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20.

"Step inside Melania Trump's world as she orchestrates inauguration plans, navigates the complexities of the White House transition, and reenters public life with her family," the film logline reads. "With exclusive footage capturing critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments, 'Melania' showcases Mrs. Trump's return to one of the world's most powerful roles."

Melania Trump serves as an executive producer while Brett Ratner ("Rush Hour") is the director. The documentary comes as Paramount is currently developing "Rush Hour 4," with Ratner set to return along with stars Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, according to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.

In 2017, six women accused Ratner of sexual harassment and assault, including actresses Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge, amid the #MeToo movement. The fourth film was put on hold.

The greenlighting of "Rush Hour 4" follows a specific request from President Trump, according to Semafor.

The Trump administration's Federal Communications Commission recently approved an $8 billion merger with Paramount Global and Skydance Media. The new chairman and CEO is David Ellison, the son of Larry Ellison, who is a close ally of Trump.
Suddenly Trump trying to force Rush Hour 4 to happen makes sense since the director is on the grandest quest of all for Trump; making Melania seem relatable.

Proving his commitment to lowering the deficit, Trump posts the highest deficit of any opening month of any fiscal year on record.

    "That doesn't include the tariffs!"

It does. Trump added $30 billion of raised taxes on American taxpayers in October. He still had record-setting deficit increase.

    "Surely Biden's was higher."

It was not. It was 10% more in October 2025 than October 2024.

"No way was it higher than COVID."

It was. Not by a lot, but this time Trump doesn't have the excuse of killing a million people like he did in 2020.

To make this more clear, this was October. The government was shut down in October and some bills weren't paid. It should have been higher.

"It says here there were some funds shifted from November to October, doesn't that count for anything?"

We'll find out in November. How about we add the two months together? That should be fun.

This is all kinds of dumb. Cuisines all over the world are full of holiday foods that we don't eat year-round. And the main reason for that (historically, anyway) is not that they aren't even good (a well-made roast turkey is good) but that they used to be expensive.

Appeals court upholds disqualification of Alina Habba as US attorney for New Jersey

The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a district court decision that found her appointment violated the Federal Vacancies Reform Act.
Also known as "Trump broke the law".

In a 3-0 decision, the appeals court concluded that Habba's original nomination for the U.S. attorney position barred her from assuming the acting job. The court also rejected the argument that the attorney general has the power to delegate the powers of U.S. attorney to Habba.

The ruling from the three-judge panel -- composed of two judges put on the bench by George W. Bush and one by Joe Biden -- comes on the heels of a high-profile decision last week disqualifying Trump's handpicked prosecutor in the Eastern District of Virginia, Lindsey Halligan, who had brought criminal cases against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James.
In other words, this wasn't close, this wasn't partisan. This was "Trump broke the law".

The appeals court ruled the maneuver was improper.

"Habba is not the Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey by virtue of her appointment as First Assistant U.S. Attorney because only the first assistant in place at the time the vacancy arises automatically assumes the functions and duties of the office under the FVRA," the court wrote, referring to the Federal Vacancies Reform Act.

"Additionally, because Habba was nominated for the vacant U.S. Attorney position, the FVRA's nomination bar prevents her from assuming the role of Acting U.S. Attorney. Finally, the Attorney General's delegation of all the powers of a U.S. Attorney to Habba is prohibited by the FVRA's exclusivity provision," the opinion said.

The ruling marks the first time a federal appeals court has ruled against the Trump administration's attempt to keep interim U.S. attorneys in their posts after their temporary appointments lapse, potentially resulting in nationwide implications for federal prosecutors installed in the same way as Habba.
Trump, TV game show host, seems very keen on acting members, most likely because he doesn't want any oversight in any way.

Incidentally, this was big enough that even FOX News *ding* covered it, but put their own spin on it.

Trump hit with setback as court rules Alina Habba unlawfully served as top federal prosecutor in New Jersey

Oh, oh no, Trump didn't lose it was a setback, it was a setback you guys. Setback. I know what you're thinking, but Elina Habba was only a setback!

Since didn't actually prosecute anyone prior to Comey right? Because if she did prosecute anyone else that would be a mistrial.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

What are the chances of Amazon being able to recoup its $40M investment on the so-called documentary?

I'll be surprised if it'll make $1M at the box office and last more than 3 weekends. The other question is how many theaters will actually show it.

habba is NJ, didn't handle comey/james. though i don't think anything she did moved anywhere because she's an incompetent idiot who should have had her license to practice law yanked years ago.

different unlawfully appointed prosecutor, though very understandable that it's hard to keep track of just all the illegal behavior from this administration

I would argue they already got their money's worth in terms of lack of government investigations and contracts.

    Absolutely this.

They love these kinds of films. They push to just let them get tons of money for the crappiest things.

And in terms of movie budgets, $40m is nothing. Most of the high-profile flops of 2025 still made more than that, they just also cost in the hundreds of millions.

Someone should make a documentary about Trump’s hush money scandal and call it Hush Hour.

Right, I kind of assumed there were not multiple of these.

i assume there are many more that are just either much less newsworthy/I haven't noticed or that haven't been sniffed out yet, as well.

Habba is in New Jersey, the Comey case is in Virginia I think.

Disregard, I read the thread from the last post I saw, everyone else has explained it.
