I'd like to think around 10% of them are able to snap out of it. I'd like to think it at least.
My whole political stance pretty much boils down to "I care about other people and the planet" and wow does that make some people mad.

Absolutely, reality isn't black and white. There are always those who do see, who do learn.

But they are a small minority.

And unfortunately these idiots make up the majority of those I deal with my own age or older and I can’t fucking move to somewhere I would actually want to be without leaving my father to be put in a rest home and abandoning nephews to deal with them without anyone smart enough to point out lies and flaws in their “logic”.

The 21 year old nephew already knows enough to reject the cult and would actively ask questions on stuff he doesn’t know while the younger one is just starting to pay attention some and had to point out a few things to avoid him falling into the cult because of his girl friends parents were MAGA and he had a friend who supported Kirk and pretty much everything he thought he knew was a cult talking point that fell apart the moment you actually checked or thought for yourself.

God I want the fuck out of this stupidity. I hate being proven I am the smartest person in the room when it comes to stuff that I really shouldn’t be whenever I bother to leave the house to see others most of the time.

I'd like to think that, too. However, I think it's more realistic to think 10% of them will die before 10% of them admit they made a mistake.

I’m inclined to believe you going by the level of self delusion those around me I’ve shown with a caveat.

They will only care if those that die are those they know personally and can’t explain it away as something else.

They have shown during COVID that none of those numbers matter to them unless it hits them directly or those around them in ways they personally can’t handwave. It could be 35% of the that died but so long as it isn’t them or their loved ones impacted, it doesn’t exist for them unless their cult says it does.

Even if it hits them and theirs, if the cult can spin it, they will buy that spin most times and you would be lucky to get even 2% who would break off at this point, they are just too invested emotionally at this point to admit they are wrong.

So Karoline Leavitt is pregnant again....not a big deal until you remember that she's 28 and her husband is 60.

Is it less creepy if you imagine they are not having sex?

I don't think the pregnant (again) part is the problem here

If Trump keeps up the pace he is going in terms of destroying the country and embezzling money by the end of his term none of the 35% will admit they ever voted for him. The majority of these people are getting hurt by his policies I think we will see somewhere between 7-8% peel off, I am basing that on the poll that showed that 28% of people approved of invading Canada and Greenland. If you approve of that then there is no limit to the insanity you will support.

“I don’t like Trump doing that” =/= “I will try and stop Trump by voting against him/the republicans”

To many trump is an acceptably embarrassing tool to still affect their tentpole issue. They don’t care if he rants and raves about Greenland… so long as he brutalizes immigrants for them. They don’t care if he says immigrants are eating cats and dogs… so long as he opposes vaccines. And so on and so forth.

But next year he is cutting off their Medicare / Medicaid, food stamps, doubling their health insurance bills, electric bills and putting their local rural hospitals out of business. The 12 billion dollar "bailout" for farmers is nothing compared to the 44 billion in sales they have lost. I guess we are about to see how many times Trump can kick them in the balls and they bend over and say thank you sir may I have another.

And some number of them will still convince themselves that it’s better than the “evil democrats”

As long as they're winning it doesn't really matter what's done to them. It doesn't even have to be actual winning as long as its perceived that they are winning.

The majority of maga would rather choke on their own vomit then admit that Trump was a bad choice, hell a sizeable portion already believes he is heaven sent to punish the black, lgbqt and anyone of a different faith.
I don’t believe they would turn against him even if bubba was a horse and there was video broadcast on foxnews
Hell he already said plenty of times he doesn’t give a shit about them and all he wanted was a their vote.
Decades from now assuming humanity is still around, this timeline is gonna cause some majority rage quitting in history classes.

If whatever is in the Epstein files that has Trump shitting his pants finally comes out even they will turn on him. Trump being outed as a gay man, the main stream media isn't talking about it even though it's been out there for a while because they are all groveling at the emperor's feet. Trump's bungling of the Epstein files is his Achilles heel, the ghost of Jeffrey Epstein will keep haunting him until they reunite in hell.

A video of Trump with Bubba will kill any boner they get out of it. Trump's base is fine with pedo Trump but not gay Trump, we should have all seen it coming with the never ending YMCA dances.

I think they could handle a gay Trump.
I don't think they could not handle gay Trump having sex with a Democrat.
Much less bottoming for Bill Clinton.

Nope, there's zero chance gay Trump will fly the vast majority of the Trump cult are evangelical crazies who break into hives if a gay person is within 500 miles.

You forgot to add the last part....

...that they didn't pick up themselves on Grindr during any large Republican gathering.

They make excuses for everything else Trump is/does, they'd make excuses for that too. Evangelical fundies have long since deployed the "God uses flawed men!" crap to excuse Trump representing literally everything they pretend to be morally opposed to.
