Trump lies about crowd size to crowd itself. Roughly doubles the number.
Also, claims the nearby counter-rally had a few hundred people. It had 10 to 15 thousand -- comparable to Trump's rally.
“Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.”
Diary of Anne Frank

Not sure why the press is even covering the Mango Manchilds rally. We all knew what he was going to say in advance so it's not the least bit newsworthy.
"If you are ever asking yourself 'Is Trump lying or is he stupid?', the answer is most likely C: All of the Above" - Seth Meyers
Say, isn't this the rally where Antifa showered up and assaulted a bunch of innocent Trump supporters?
No? It was a Trump supporter assaulting journalists? You don't say?
EL PASO, Texas — A male attendee accosted reporters standing behind cameras at President Trump's rally Monday night.
The unidentified man ran down a set of stairs in the press section in the El Paso County Coliseum and jumped onto a platform where cameras were recording Trump's speech.
The man shoved a handful of cameras, causing them to topple, and pushed reporters, knocking some of them over the roughly two-foot-high ledge.
Well, Hannity doesn't like the deal and immediately went to the airwaves to tell Trump. He then insulted the idea of steel slats being a Wall -- yeah, probably off-script there -- and misleadingly cited the CBS poll, just like some of the bad-faith posters here.
So, I don't know if this is "I called it" but Trump signs something Friday or we have another Trump Shutdown, and Hannity is specifically, directly telling Trump to do the latter.

And for those of you trying to decide if, in fact, this negotiated deal is good news or not, the front page of FOX News right now is "but her emails!".
No. Really. Back to Clinton. The news for Trump is that bad. The news for Trump about his Wall is that bad.

Details of this agreement are starting to leak out. Let's pretend for now NBC has them correct.
This is actually a step up, from the GOP perspective, of a deal they agreed with pre-Trump Shutdown. As a professional mathematician, I can tell you 55 miles is more than 0 miles. Trump has already moved the goalposts away from "concrete wall" so that shouldn't be an issue. And not only is 40,000 extra beds in the concentration camps more than reports we've heard recently, that's 10% of the total arrests last year. So, as long as CPB keeps people for a month or less before throwing them back, 40,000 beds would be enough total, let alone additional. Unless Trump's admin wants to hold these people for more than a month. Which sounds expensive and counterproductive. Or, maybe the courts are backed up because of the backlog because of the Trump Shutdown, which is also not redeeming.$1.375 billion for border barrier enhancements like steel slats and other "existing technologies," but no concrete wall
The money would fund about 55 miles of new barrier
Geographic restrictions on where the new fencing could built, likely limited to the Rio Grand Valley sector of the border
DHS would receive $1.7 billion in new funding for border security that could include technology at ports of entry, additional customs officers and humanitarian aid
No cap on the number of beds for enforcing immigration laws in the country's interior
Funding for approximately 40,520 detention beds for detained immigrants
Honestly, this sounds like a legit compromise offer between both parties. The GOP actually managed to claw a non-zero number out of Pelosi. And they're able to build more concentration camps, which I didn't know was a GOP thing until recently, but here we are. This sounds like a deal was actually made, that good-faith negotiations were actually successful.
So, again, let's pretend these details are correct, because at time of writing they're the best I can find. Does Trump:
A) Sign it, point and say "See? SEE! I built that!" despite telling the crowd last night he'd rather be at a rally than negotiating his own demands, or
B) Cause a second Trump Shutdown, not only tanking his numbers in the general voter pool but also slapping away the only good-faith offer the GOP are going to get?
I guess there's still
C) Sign it, declare "national security lol" and attempt to save face by letting the courts stop him.
"Wait, can't he refuse to sign, and still declare -- "
Then he doesn't even get the 55 miles. Then he gets nothing, and no replacement offer will be given, even by the GOP, if he does that. This is the breaking point. This is the last chance the GOP are giving Trump. They worked hard on this, because he would rather give speeches filled with lies and go golfing, while sending Pence to say "how about half zzzzzzzzzzz" and putting Mulvaney on TV. He rejects this offer, there will be no second offer, and they'll start cutting ties pre-2020 trying to save themselves from a sinking ship.

He'll sign it and call it a victory and the brainless supporters he still has will agree with him. Much like when he called the 2018 Midterms a victory for the GOP even though they lost the House, several governorships and countless others positions across the board. I'm actually a bit miffed that the Dems compromised even this much--granted it is peanuts compared to what was being demanded--simply because of the crowing the GOP crowd will do to hype this up into some pseudo-success.
CNN goes into detail about the new "Finish the Wall" ploy. Basically, Trump knows full well his promised Wall is never going to happen, so he now has to claim what he wanted to build, is the stuff Obama already erected, because he himself can't get it up.
*snicker*
No really, by moving the goalposts from "30-40 feed concrete and rebar" to "steel slats" Trump is trying to weasel his way out of the promise he can't possibly fulfill. Only by piggybacking on what he claimed didn't exist, like Spicer's famous "the numbers became real", and by claiming "the Democrats voted for a Wall" can he even pretend to get some measure of success.
Of course, if that was true, he'd have to sign the deal Congress just made. The one Hannity said was garbage. So he's fucked either way, because he chose to be in this position.

See, Hannity already doesn't.
Most politicians work towards the middle because that's where the votes are. Gosh. Hasn't a lot changed under Trump. The rabid fanbase is extreme, but without them, he's underwater. Yeah, he might still sign this, and he might still try to claim victory. But abandoning his Wall for a third time will crack the rabid fanbase, in exchange for not slapping away Graham and McConnell's work.

Also, Breitbart admits that Trump's existing policies have not worked, since (according to them) illegal immigration on the border is going up. They also lie about the funds given by the Democrats (they claim it's down, when they're giving $2.6B total.

Look at the resident Trumpkins we have on these very forums. No matter WHAT he does they are right there defending him and claiming it all as a victory. Vocal GOP darlings like Coulter and Hannity have been critical of Trump's actions in the past already and it had very little effect with regard to his base of mentally incompetent degenerates. They don't turn on Trump--they just turn on the Coulters and Hannitys.
Trump is already saying that "we'll build it anyways", in relation to the wall. Looks like someone got news just before the rally and wasn't too happy about only getting 55 miles of wall out of 2,000. A whole 0.0275% of the border, only another 99.9725% to go. I'm sure The Trumplestiltskins will earn that achievement eventually.
I kind of hope he doesn't sign it and the government is shut down again, just so he can get fucked harder in the polls.“If we cut detention space, we are cutting loose dangerous criminals into our countries,” Trump said. “I will never sign a bill that forces the mass release of criminals into this country.”
That's the thing anymore, that ploy isn't working anymore. In all seriousness, the idiots who spent the last three or four years screeching about SJWs and the "regressive left" have really only accomplished is to allow theocrats to stack the courts. While they may get some joy after abortion and gay marriage are whittled away and their gay colleague gets fired you need only scratch the surface to see that fundamentalists aren't democratic, rights respecting people -- and they also hate drugs, porn, and a free internet.
It's likely coming, and if RBG goes down it's all but certain. Roberts won't be the center in a 5-4 court, Alito will be in a 6-3 court. Bank on it.
So the question remains "Will Trump sign this?" I've been saying he has two choices, both bad.
A) Yes, and he betrays his base by giving up on the Wall for a third year, even after a Trump Shutdown he was proud to do.
B) No, and we have another Trump Shutdown, he slaps away the offered hand by the GOP.
Either way, if he goes "national security lol" the courts are expected to step in.
So what's the option? I feel I've left out a valuable third option.
C) Who cares.
No, really. This deal? The one Hannity hates? I think it's custom made to have a veto-proof majority. I think this was made in such a way that Trump's approval is moot. He wasn't part of the negotiations, and I think that was mostly his choice but not fully -- all he did was make demands he claimed were unshakable, sent Pence, and went golfing. I think the GOP was glad to get him out of the room so the big kids could talk.
And I think this is the result of the big kids talking. The various meetings (including Graham's, who now says Trump should take this deal on FOX Freaking News) were done to find a way to bypass Trump. And they did so with the GOP's consent, possibly blessing.
Will he sign it? I'm not sure it matters.
Shh. Settle down, kid. Go play in the corner with your friends Vlad and Kim. We're going to make the decisions while you watch Spongebob.
